I don't need the majority of the programs included in CC, but subscribing to just three of them will cost way more. Really not sure what to do here :-(

Thanks Ned. I did find this page, however it isn't an upgrade. I have been purchasing Adobe products for years so that I could just pay the upgrade price for current products. With the current system, I would be paying much more than I would for an upgrade. For example, I have been using my version of CS for at least three years. The upgrade cost me $750 so that comes out to around $21 per month. I guess I have no options as far as upgrading except for paying for the overpriced CC. Oh well, time to start looking for alternatives. It was just so convenient to have the same programs at home that I use at work.

Once you are at 10.6.8 Lion is still available from Apple. You will have to call Apple Customer Care 1-800-692-7753 or 1-800-676-2775. to purchase it. Then within 3 days you will get an email with a code which you can use to download Lion from the App Store. The price is $19.99.
Lion will require at least 2gb of RAM but really needs 4gb to run smoothly.

The value of the Channel Strip volume etc is not stored within the C Strip setting, as you have discovered.
If you really wanted, you could add a Gain plug to the strip, with it set to give the correct output level with the Fader set to 0
(Or just set the fader manually in MS)

Expanding on what deggie said, with an iPad 1 the app you're using must support video out. Only the iPad 2 can mirror the screen. The apps included with the iPad that output to external monitors are given here:

You can't, all iTunes gift cards are country-specific, they can only be used in their country of issue - so to redeem a Japanese gift card you will need to be in Japan with a Japanese iTunes account and billing address. Can you send it back to your sister ?

Of course it can be replaced..... if the device needs replacement because of a manufacturing issue and is still under warranty it will be replaced at no cost.
