Can two Ipods share (their own version of) a library on one computer?

I have a Nano 3rd gen, my husband has an original Ipod. His library is ONLY on his Ipod because the computer he created it on bit the dust. I want to put parts of his library on to my Ipod. Is there a way he can load his library on to a new computer and both of us can use it?
I don't want all of his music, just some, so can I make a seperate library on the same computer?
I am computer savy, but BRAND new to Ipod. Help is appreciated.

If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod to a computer
The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes

SharePod Windows Only
iPodRip Mac & Windows
YamiPod Mac and Windows
Music Rescue Mac & Windows
iPodCopy Mac and Windows
iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Access Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
There is also a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows or a Mac. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod
I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay. • Can two people with their own iPhones use the same computer and iTunes?

Can two people with their own iPhones use the same computer and iTunes?

Yes. My wife and I each have our own Apple ID and used the same computer to sync our phones with iTunes. The best way to do this is set up separate user accounts on the computer. If you are logged in to your account on the computer and your wife wants to sync here phone, you would log out and she would log in. These keeps all your stuff separate and avoids a ton of confusion.

  • Can two ipods share music even if only one has it?

i just got an ipod video for christmas. i originally had an ipod mini. i went to my friends house and got a couple songs on my mini a while back. my computer is authorized with account as well as with mine. i know that i have to go to the one that purchased it, but is there a way that i can plug my mini and my video in and then drag the song from one to another? thanks

No. iTunes doesn't support this for obvious reasons. Your best option is to transfer the files from machine to machine using flash drive, CDs, DVDs, or hard drive.

  • Can two iphone 4s be linked to the same itunes on one computer?

Me and My boyfriend both bought new iPhone 4s (this is my first iphone ever) ... We share a lap top and he travels frequently for business. We are both synced to the itunes from our lap top, so whenever i try to sync music from my sisters or mothers laptop it erases almost everything i purchased. How do I get that back and prevent that from happening? I would like to be able to use the itunes on my laptop and my moms! Please help.

iTunes is designed to only sync to a single computer and iTunes library. If you try and sync to another, as you have, you find it will delete all content from the phone and try and sync to the new library. You will need to decide which computer you want to sync to and use that one.

  • Can two people share an icloud account keeping their info separate

can two people share an icloud account keeping their info separate

No: iCloud is intended for use by one person to keep their Macs and devices in sync. Anyone signed into the account has access to all its data. Separate people should have separated iCloud accounts, and separate user accounts on their Mac(s).

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Create an iCloud account for each of them.

  • I have an icloud account with two other users besides myself.  We share the same game center.  We want our own. My two children want their own Clash of Clans account!  What do I do?

Log out of Gamecenter and try downloading CoC again. if it doesn't prompt you with a new village, try downloading with a different apple id. if that doesn't work, you would need a new device to create a new village and transferring it to your sons device using the code in the CoC settings.

seems we could either buy a router or another printer....
    any other suggestions?
Do the same thing your doing to get each computer on the Internet, one takes turns connecting the cable.
If you want both computers on the Internet and printing at the same time, that's what a router is for.
Just sub one of the PC's above for a printer and you see the idea how it all works.
A Airport Express is Mac friendly method, but if you have computers that have no wireless capability then you will need a Airport Extreme for the Ethernet outports.
You can also buy a third party router from the PC store, that works too, but it's a bit more complicated and you have to install your own firmware updates manually, no Airport Utility to do it for you. But you save money.
The important thing is setting up the router securely, WPA and WEP are both cracked. New Mac's don't even support WEP encrypted because it's worthless and false security.
    What you want is:
WPA(AES) Personal with two passwords, each 20+ random letter, number, symbol characters in length. One password is used for Internet access only the other for Admin router access only, this way a user can't crack the router.
Turn off remote access, don't use hidden network or MAC Address filtering, no defense.
The long passwords are needed to defeat brute force attacks using video card based software, this type of password will take thousands of years to crack.
You can learn more about wireless networking online, have a local PC/Mac guy set you up.
Your computers are much more secure behind a router than directly connected to Internet as the router is a dumb switch, like a large security guard, only allowing certain things to pass and beating down others who try.
Also you don't wear out your Ethernet port like what your doing now connecting the cable all the time.
    Good Luck

  • Can two people share the same Apple ID on two different iPhones and maintain different passwords?  Yes, there is more to the story.

I have an iMac, and iPhone.  I've had my Apple ID for a few years.
My wife got an iPhone 4S a few months back and the salesperson at Verizon set her Apple ID the same as mine, but gave her a different password.  I don't know if this was ok, but that is what happened.
So, yesterday, we both upgraded to IOS6 and I had no problem logging in to my iPhone with my Apple ID.  When my wife went to log in, she was told that she was entering the wrong password. We entered the password over and over again and still was wrong.
The question is... can two people share the same Apple ID on two different iPhones and maintain different passwords?  (I have the feeling her iPhone is thinking that since it's my Apple ID, it wants my password.)
If not, can I still set up a new Apple ID for her even through she's had the iPhone for a few months?
    Thanks.

    Hi
You shold follow your feelings, its probably right most of the time.
You can have 5 different devices hucked upp to one Apple ID. What I have done is that my wife and I have one Apple ID, when I bye a new app on my phone, She gets it to. Thats nice.
You can allways set upp a new Apple ID for your wife.

  • Can two ipods with the same email address face time independantly?

Can two ipods with the same email address face time independantly?

Hey Bumblebee, To each other, no-- would be like trying to call yourself on the same phone. To different persons on other devices??? Not sure you'll have to try, I'm guessing if both are online you may well dial up on both, (once had the same address on the my computer and iPod, both would ring when called, this stopped when I changed the iPod's address). If you change one of the iPod's e-mail address you should be fine. You'll have to do a little experimenting. Hope this helps, Good luck. Cheers.

  • HT204053 Can two people share the icloud if they have a different Apple ID

Can two people combine their icloud information if they have different Apple IDs?  Or is a common ID necessary?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
You need the same Apple ID to have the same information (you can't mix it if you don't want to mess everything in one Apple ID)

I own two I macs. I bought and installed Lion on one computer. How can I install Lion on the other compute without additional charge?

If it's the same email address Apple registration on both, use the 2nd computer and go to the App Store and find Lion. If different, use the second computer but log in to the App store with the address you used on the first go round. The buy button should instead say install. Then go through the same process again.
