Can two people have different itunes accounts on the same computer?
Married couple each have an iphone, but share a computer. We each have our own apple ID's and want to keep things seperate. How do we do that? Do I have to download itunes twice? Is there a way to logout and change users?

Can you have two different itunes account on the same computer
how can you have 2 different itunes accounts on the same computer?
You would need two seperate users on the computer. Then each library would be independent of each other. Or do you mean two seperate iTunes store accounts?

Can two people with their own iPhones use the same computer and iTunes?
Can two people with their own iPhones use the same computer and iTunes?
Yes. My wife and I each have our own Apple ID and used the same computer to sync our phones with iTunes. The best way to do this is set up separate user accounts on the computer. If you are logged in to your account on the computer and your wife wants to sync here phone, you would log out and she would log in. These keeps all your stuff separate and avoids a ton of confusion.

How does one set up two different iTunes accounts on the same computer so that they do not merge into one?

So, when the other iTunes account needs to be used, I should log out of Windows and have the other user log in under a different Windows account, correct?
M Parker,
Yes, since you are trying to keep things separate, that is exactly what you would do. -
How can I have another Itunes account on the same computer for my wife?

In case you didn't fully understand what dallon meant, it means another user account on your computer. You set that up in Windows and then instal iTunes onto that account.
That way, you each have your own desktop and your own itunes. You can link to the songs in the other person's library as well, but you cannot run both iTunes at the same time. (That simply means you need to close it on the first account before opening it on the second account.) -

can you have 2 itunes account on the same computer?
Yes, go to your Windows Control Panel and create another user, log into it, run iTunes and it's ready to rock and roll.
Transfer your content over via USB Key, Dropbox or external drive.
Heck the best thing would be to File > Backup library to disk with a bunch of DVD-R's, therefore you get a backup in the process!

Can you share music between iTunes accounts on the same computer
Can you share music between iTunes accounts on the same computer? My kids iPods are under my account now with all of our shared music but they want their own iTunes accounts. I would like to transfer the music and apps that they purchased under my account to their new accounts... Is this posible?

This really isnt good. there isnt even a .tmp file on my pc.
Did you enable the display of system files and hidden files and folders?
by the way, how can i stop this from happening another time.
Make a backup!
i had music there for over 6 years.
Well you must have updated iTunes once or twice in that time. Do you have some sort of "tidying" app that is supposed to clean "unnecessary" files. If so perhaps it is too aggressive.

How do I set up two different Itunes accounts on the same computer
I have one PC laptop and my daughter and I both have IPhone 4's. I want to sync both phones using the same computer but want totally different accounts so that I don't have her music, aps, etc and vice versa. I've tried this many many times and can never seem to get it right. If I sign out of my ITunes account and then plug her phone into my computer, it syncs my stuff onto her phone. HELP!
First thing you need to do is disable auto syncing in iTunes. This is from Edit>Preferences>Devices>Prevent iPods, etc.
Unfortunately, the only thing you can do is set up separate log in accounts for the laptop. This will allow you to have iTunes in each log in and they can have different content. iTunes cannot have separate content with the same log in and different Apple ID, but you can manage two phones with the same iTunes account. See if any of the information in this support document will help you http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1495 but the best solution is separate computer log in. -
I have an iPhone 3s and my sister has an iPhone 3. We use them only as iPods. We each have our own iTunes account, but we have to share a computer. How can we both syn our devices without sharing our music and app libraries?
The most reliable way would be to set up individual user accounts in WIndows. Then each of your iTunes libraries will be completely separate.

Can I set up two different ITunes accounts on the same computer?
Is it possible to set up two separate ITunes accounts on one computer and yet share some of the same songs in the Library?
Yes create two users on that computer
One for each account, and then you will have 2 itunes libraries.
Control Panel, user accounts, add new account (give it admin rights).
Log off and then log in with the new account.
Make sure you log out and not switch accounts when moving between the two users. -
With the limit of 5 devices per itunes account, I am wondering if I can have more than 1 itunes account on my computer?
The limit of five applies only to computers, not to iOS devices, if that's what you're concerned with. But yes, you can have content from up to five different iTunes Store accounts on any given computer or iOS device.

Yes. Launch iTunes with the Shift key held down as needed, or use separate Windows user accounts on the computer.

Multiple iTunes Accounts on the Same Computer
iTunes states that you can have multiple iTunes accounts on the same computer. But when I attempt to put in a new user account (for my wife so she can have her own music library) my own iTunes account pops up when I go to load iTunes while in her user account. And if I create any account that is NOT an 'Admistrator' account iTunes refuses to install itself as the "user does not have the privileges - consult your Administrator". So I am lost as to what I need to do to create separate iTunes accounts where each person has their own iTunes library and thus their own music. Perplexed...
