No. Only apps purchased from the App Store can be re downloaded for free including updates.

What the ****? I don't remember my **** security answers and I just put $35 on my iTunes account and I am not able to buy anything! I'm so mad! I anwered those questions stupidly and I did not pay attention. And that extra email? I don't have a clue. I am seething and desperate. & I refuse to create a new account with all that mula on the line.
If you don't have a rescue email address, or you don't know what it is (you won't be able to add/view it until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.

When they've been reset you can then use the steps half-way down the HT5312 page that you posted from to add a rescue email address for potential future use -

I have an itunes account to update the office ipad. Now we have more of them can my colleagues access my itunes account including the apps to update their ipads with? it seems silly for everyone to have a seperate account and purchase apps that i have already bought. We just want to share and update one account that everyone can use and access from their own pc.
Unless I am missing the point here - or in the event that there are different terms and conditions for the use of iPad in the Enterprise with regard to iTunes purchases - once you have purchased an app - you are free to download that app again - at no charge - to as many iDevices as you desire - as long as you are using the same Apple ID and iTunes account that you used to make the original purchase.
So the short answer to the question - IMHO - is Yes! My wife, my daughter and I share one iTunes account and we download apps onto four different iDevices - and only pay for the apps once. The purchases are tied to the Apple/iTunes account and not to the PC or the iDevice.
The only caveat to this point is - I have no idea how Apple handles purchase for businesses meaning that I don't know if businesses are subject to the same terms and conditions as we "everyday" users.
Maybe the company could set up one iTunes account and you could all share from there but I still don't see why this can't be done. However, that is why I suggest that this question might be better served being posted in the iPad in the Enterprise section of the ASC. -
To repeat my question, Apple offered to install iCloud, and I allowed it. Yet when I try to sign in to iCloud using my Apple ID email and pswrd--an ID that I've been using for YEARS--I'm given the message, "This Apple ID is valid but is not an iCloud account." What is going on?
Everywhere I search on Apple's Support site says to sign in to iCloud using your "Apple ID," which I did. I've had my iTunes account for years (even migrated from the old AOL account system). It's the standard email+password that everyone is supposed to use.
My main question is how can I have a valid Apple ID and not an iCloud account--if the two are supposed to be linked?

tljI've tried both. First, I tried on my pc, where iTunes had installed iCloud when it last updated. I have iTunes installed on this computer (and on my iPad and iPhone), but that wasn't the issue.
So I went online, thinking I needed a separate iCloud Apple ID, but it prompted me for my current Apple ID and gave me the message about my ID being "valid" but not an iCloud account," which, lol, was what it had asked me to do in order to create one. I am an older novice user. I gave my Itouch to my duaghter....and took her Ipod Classic 64.....have used and played the songs but not updated in a couple years. The laptop I set the account up from died and I downlowded the new 10.6 software onto this PC. /When i signed in to my account I cannot seem to find a place to find my old library. I had more music and movies on the library than on the Ipod classic....was hoping to find it all before i sync up again.
Any tips on how to find or access the old library or did I lose it with the old laptop? LOL...a confused oldie....would like tomove music to my Iphone once all is found and resumed.
Thanks in advance for any insight or suggetions.The old iTunes library was lost with the old PC. However, it all that music and content is still on your iPod there are many ways you can extract this content from the iPod and import it back into iTunes.
Your iPod is designed to sync with only one iTunes library at a time. It will recognize the iTunes library on the new PC as a new library. If you sync the iPod with this new library, all content will be erased from the iPod and replaced with what is in the new library. So what you will want to do is copy everything from the iPod to your new iTunes library on your PC first.

My wife and I share one itunes account with separate libraries. When I sync her iphone in her library, it adds all of my iphone contacts to her contact list. How can we avoid this?
Make groups of contacts in your Address Book and select the option to sync only selected groups to each phone.

how do I make it so that the one computer that has the main itunes account on it be used on other computers, when it comes to backing up phones and not deleting data off of phone that isnt on that computer itunes becasse its all on the one main computer. Baiscally the problem is that one comuter and one account has always been sued for eey persons itunes. Now if we want to be able to backup and use itunes on our own computers fro our iphones and such, how will all he data that is on our phones not be deleted once its plugged into a new computer? option discovered in preferences. Really this and any feature that moves deletes or edits a users data should as far as possible be OFF BY DEFAULT. It shouldn't by default and without the users specific say do this dangerous and unnecessary thing without even letting the user know what it's doing!!! And then cause me a few hours (as i'm new to mac) searching for the option so as to switch it off. If i hadn't noticed the status cage declaring that it was copying files then i might never have twigged that this insane thing was occurring. And if i hadn't of noticed i would have been left maintaining the contents of the folder i copied the files to, the folder which as far as i was informed and so believed was also the location of the music files i was playing. How does Apple justify this 'genius' piece of software non-design? Surely it will hurt no one if this was off by default for new users - overall at least i dare say it would cause a lot less distress in the future for the unsuspecting public at large. To add to sig's reply, "calibrating" does not calibrate Lithiu-Ion batteries, it calibrates the charge reporting circuitry. If you look at the effect of deep discharging Lithium-Ion batteries in the data from the independent test group, Battery University, you will see that doing so shortens the life of the battery significantly. It looks like an optimum balance between use and life is at a discharge level of 50%.

I am trying to retrieve music that I had from an iPad to my iTunes account. I'm using the same computer for synching my iPhone. I'm logged into my iPad account, but can't retrieve music. It only recognizes my iPhone. Does anyone know how I can get my music? I know longer own the iPad so I don't have access to it, but I don't think that should be a problem.
So you had music on the iPad that is not in iTunes and you no longer have the iPad. Is that what you are saying? If that is what you are saying, iTunes won't "recognize" anything that was on the iPad, that was not purchased from iTunes. If the music was purchased from iTunes, you should probably be able to download it again for free as long as you are using the same Apple ID that you bought it with. Did you try downloading the music again?
Am I understanding what it is that you want to do? If I am understanding you correctly, you will find this to be useful.

I just bought a Mac Book Pro and the Appstore show one upgrade of iPhoto (9.2.1). I started a section with my Apple ID (the account that I have I use to iTunes) but when I try to update it says that there are upgrades available for other accounts and that I have to upgrade using the account that I used to buy iPhoto. HI. I have itunes 10.6.1.7. When I goto movies i am not able to add and when I click on add file to library and select the file and add its not getting added. When i goto Library it says "feature films and home movies you add to itunes appear in movies in your iTunes library. To play a movie, just double click it". And below are two options for Downloading movies from store and rent movies. Please help.
I get the exactly the same problem with win 7, i rang apple support who suggested i try another machine/or create another account on my machine???? why should i, stupid ipad 3rd gen is now sitting here un syncable, apple support ....tut tut very poor support, its a shame im out of the 7 day period otherwise this ipad would be going straight back, older versions of itunes worked fine, some one must know a fix for this??

Okay, so today I got a 15 dollar iTunes gift card. I used it on iTunes and it only put me up to $4.96. I had a prepaid credit card on my account at the time that iTunes was thinking the security code was invalid, that is why I got the iTunes card. What do I do in order to get the ten bucks back? I checked my recent purchases and it says I have not purchased anything in 3 days. I have contacted Apple Support and I will post what they say. Untill then, does anyone have any idea what I can do to get my money back? I retried entering my gift card but it is, as it should be, already been used.
You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of doing so include clicking here and picking a method for your country, and filling out and submitting this form.
