Can u have music from 2 diff computures on ur ipod

*** how do i do this

wrong answer. iTunes does NOT let you sync your iPod on different computers. You sync with iTunes on one computer, if you bring it to another computer and sync with iTunes, it's going to tell you the iPod is registered with another computer and if you want the music from this one it is going to delete everything on your iPod, register it with this computer and then copy the music to it (manually or automatically).
The only way around this is to use Winamp and the iPod plugin. Winamp with the plugin does not care what is already on the iPod and you'll be able to put more music on it.

Yes.  Locate these songs from your Windows Media library on your computer and drag them into iTunes.  Then set them up to sync to your iPod.

I have a similar problem.  I recieved an IPAD for my birthday, and my daughter updated my itunes library so i can use it with the ipad...and somehow all my songs (unpurchased from itunes, and downloaded  from a large collection of CDs) ...and play lists were deleted.   I still have them on my old ipod, and wonder how to get them back onto my computer so I can redistribute some of them to the ipad.  I must be getting too old for this tech stuff, it gets less user friendly every year.

No, you would have to put the music on a computer with iTunes then sync the iPod.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Assuming it isn't purchased content from the iTunes Store, then your only way is to put all the music onto one computer and sync with that.

    carlitos3373,
You need to use iTunes to transfer music to your iPod. You can download the latest version here:

    Hope this helps,

  • Can i transfer music from my new computer to my ipod nano?

I have been happily using my new ipod nano for some months. I have just bought a new computer. I downloaded itunes for the new computer and started to add some new cds. Now i am connecting my nano to the new computer for the first time and am trying to get the new albums transfered to the nano. I am worried about loosing all the music from my old computer of course, so i selected the 'manage files manually' option. Well i haven't lost the old tunes yet but just can't figure out how to move the tunes manually (from the 'recently added' list) to my nano. Any ideas?

The latest iTunes may hide the sidebar.  To show the sidebar, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.
Find your iPod in the sidebar under DEVICES. Select the Recently Added playlist in the sidebar, to show the list of songs on the playlist to the right.  Click-hold-drag the song you want to the iPod in the sidebar.  You can select and drag multiple songs at the same time.
Alternately, you can select the song or songs on the playlist, right-click on the selection, select Add to Playlist from the menu, and choose your iPod as the target.

  • How can I keep music from another iTunes account while switching iPods?

I'm replacing my iPod nano with a new model. (The new one is generation 6; the old one is several years old but I can't find the exact model.)
I kept my iPod on manual sync and I was able to play music that my family members and girlfriend added to it from their accounts. iTunes wouldn't let me play those songs directly on my computer, but it would let me play them from the old iPod.
However, now iTunes won't let me transfer any of those songs to the new iPod, because they're licensed to another account, and thus I can't play most of my library. Is there any way around this? I've tried manually copying files, and I can't get any of them to play on the new device (not even the ones in non-protected formats like MP3.)

Are the songs that you want to add to the new iPod in your iTunes library? If not, you need to get them there first as you cannot copy content from one iPod directly to another.
If some of these songs were purchased with an Apple ID that was no yours and you do not know the password, I'm afraid you will not be able to copy them to the new iPod.

  • Can't transfer music from CD or hard drive to iPod.  Why?

I am having a problem adding music to my iPod that I ripped from a CD. Whether I open the CD with iTunes and try and add songs or use another application to rip songs, and then add through the hard drive, I keep getting an error message.
First, I try to convert to MP3 format (because I guess converting from the hard drive, the files are in WMA format). Then by reading the CD with iTunes, I try and drag songs into a playlist or into my library, and I get an error message that says "Error occurred while converting file name "Song_Title". An unknown error occurred (-223)."
I updated to the latest version of iTunes (March 06) and tried using the iPod updater and restarted my computer, but nothing worked. I didn't used to have this problem, but have noticed that the process of adding music has become progressively more difficult over the last year since I have had the iPod. I used to be able to get around it by ripping songs using another application and then adding the files from the hard drive, but that doesn't even work any more.

You have to use iTunes. I believe there is a setting in the iTunes preferences to specify whether or not to copy media you import to the iTunes folder or leave it in place. Not in front of a copy of iTunes at the moment to check.  You MUST import it to your iTunes library, though, before you can sync it to the phone.

  • I updated my Ipod touch from 4.1 to 6.1. All music files were deleted. How can I transfer music from my laptop back to my Ipod touch?

How do I transfer music files from my laptop to my Ipod Touch?

The only way to get it fixed is to contact the carrier to whom the phone is locked.  You will need to find out:
    1) IF the carrier offers unlocking.  Not all carriers do
    2) IF the carrier indeed offers unlocking, what the requirements are.  You might not fulfill them.

  • Can I play music from my genre screen on my iPod touch?

Is there anyway to play an entire genre?

I'm assuming you have iOS 6, I'm not sure if it is possible in iOS 7. But, for iOS 6, Go into Music, click the "More" tab, click the Genre you would like, scroll up a bit and click "All Albums", and then click "All Songs", and lastly, scroll up a bit to "Shuffle" to play all songs. Hopes this helps!

  • How can I take music from an USB and transfer it to the iPod? It tells me use use itunes to sync but the music is on an USB drive. It had worked in the past. Tks

How can I transfer music from an USB drive to the iPod. I can see the music and play it on the computer, but the iPod tells me to use iTunes to sync. The music is not on iTunes. It has worked in the past.....tks

These are just playlists. The songs there are really not duplicates of the songs. They are just a different location for accessing them. Some playlists can be deleted, some cannot. Ones that are created by iTunes cannot be deleted. Ones that you create can be. The Recently Added and the 90's cannot.
