Can unlocked iphone 5s be purchased in the U.S. and used in China with local networks?

I was told that China is working with different network standards regarding mobile phones, so I was wondering if I could buy an unlocked iphone here and use it with a Chinese simcard (which are also different sizes...?)
How would it work?

Yes....for storage, as in backup files. But, not recommended for "working" image or media libraries.

No, unless you intend to also use the same drive for Time Machine backups.

Can't restore backup, I don'find the right format to use for date with RMAN

Hi I would like to restore my database to a point in time but I can't because I am not able to find the NLS_DATE_FORMAT to use.
I don't know how to alter the session parameters at the RMAN prompt
I would like to restore to this time set until time 'May 10 2006 08:48:10';

You can tethe, but depending on carrier you may need to pay for that option... I've decided to have my phone on one provider and my ipad on another so i always have connectivity... More expensive in the long run, but I need to make sure I am always "on" for work

here is a cheaper solution than camera kit and a lot easier if you have WIFI available.
I use the PhotoSync APP (I think its a $1.99) will transfer videos and photos over WIFI to any other IOS device or even PC/MAC. Great app since I like doing video and photos on my IPHONE and transfer to IPAD2 without synching through computer or doing cloud based storage.
You can even send photos/videos from your MAC/PC to your IOS devices that way too. Makes it so much easier.

An unlocked iPhone is expensive regardless. VAT is included with the sales price in the UK and the advertised price in the US does not include sales tax with the sales tax rate fluctuating depending on which city and state the iPhone is purchased. The sales tax rate where I live is 8.25%.

We can't speak for Apple, but I highly doubt that there will be further price drops to the iPhone 4, not just because of the release of the unlocked iPhone 5, anyway.

Edit > Preferences. Select the check box for Ringtones, this will add them to the listing in iTunes.

You can not merge accounts.
Apps are tied to the Apple ID used to download them, you can not transfer them.

Did you by chance have photo stream turned on? If so then they might be there. When you restored your phone it deleted everything and they will be unretreivable from your computer.

If you go to the Photos app, is there content in the Photo Library? These would be pictures that are synced to the phone from the computer. Photos in the camera roll are those that you take with the phone, or save from email, MMS on the phone. What type of pictures are you trying to get rid of? If you are trying to get rid of the synced photos, you need to connect to iTunes, select the iPhone in the device pane, then go to the Photo tab in iTunes and remove the check mark by sync.
