Can upgrade to R12 with Maintenance Wiz be combined with platform migration

Planning to upgrade our EBS 11i instance to R12. The source and target application servers are different and database server remains same.
Source Instance
Apps Server Deatails
Name : A1
OS : Linux 32 bit (RHEL 5)
EBS version: 11.5.10.2
DB Server Details
Name: D1
OS: Linux 64 bit (RHEL5)
DB version : 11.2.0.2
Destination Instance
Apps Server Deatails
Name : A2 ( Please note tha the server has been changed, as the OS is changed from 32 bit to 64bit)
OS : Linux 64 bit (RHEL 5)
EBS version: 11.5.10.2
DB Server Details
Name: D1 (No change in Server)
OS: Linux 64 bit (RHEL5)
DB version : 11.2.0.2
How to achieve this upgrade using Maintenance Wizard as the application servers OS will be changed during the upgrade?
Can you refer any document for the same?
I searched the forum but could not find anything related.
In the manual I see it is possible to set the platform when defining nodes, but it this meant/enough to also use this for a platform migration?

Yes you can use Maintenance Wizard to upgrade and move to a different platform. The tool does not care that you are switching platforms. It will perform all the 11i steps on the old platform / server. When you get to the 12.1 portion, Maintenance Wizard will execute the steps on the 12.1 platform. So just define the 12.1 nodes using the new platform os and you should be fine.

Try forcing iPhoto to load the Library on the External Hard drive by launching it while holding down the Option key. Choose the Library on the External HD, and quit iPhoto, see if iMovie can see the Library with the iPhoto Videos contained inside.

Issue with language specific characters combined with AD-Logon to BO platform and client tools

We are using SSO via Win AD to logon to BO-Launchpad. Generally this is working which means for Launch Pad no manual log on is needed. But this is not working for users which have language specific letters in their AD name (e.g. öäüéèê...).
What we have tried up to now:
If the AD-User name is Test-BÖ the log on is working with the user name Test-BO with logon type AD
If the logon Type "SAP" is used than it is possible to use the name Test-BÖ as the username
Generally it is no problem in AD to use language specific letters (which means it is possible to e.g. log on to Windows with the user Test-BÖ)
It is possible to read out the AD attributes from BO side and add them to the user. Which means in the user attributes the AD name Test-BÖ is shown via automatic import from AD. So it's not the problem that the character does not reach BO.
I have opened a ticket concerning that. SAP 1th level support is telling me that this is not a BO problem. They say it is a problem of Tomcat. I don't believe that because the log on with authentification type SAP is working.
I have set up the same combination (AD User Test-BÖ with SAP User Test-BÖ) as a single sign on authentification in SAP BW and there it is working without problems.
Which leads me to the conlusion: It is not a problem of AD. It is something which is connected to the BO platform but only combined with logon type AD because SAP Logon is working with language specific characters.

I have found this article with BO support:
You cannot add a user name or an object name that only differs by a character with a diacritic mark
Basically this means AD stores the country specific letters as a base letter internally. Which means that if you have created a user with a country specific letter in the name you can also logon with the Base letter to Windows.
SAP-GUI and Windows are maybe replacing the country specific letters by the base letter. Due to that SSO is working. BO seems not to be able to do that. Up to now the supporter from BO is telling me that this is not a BO problem.
Seems to be magic that the colleagues of SAP-GUI are able to to it.

Key not typing letter, but working with Apple key in combination with lette

I have an Indigo iBook. Just today the "f" key has stopped working - at least for tying the letter itself. When I press it in combination with the Apple key however, I get the "find" box to come up, so in some way the key is working on the keyboard. We have removed the cap and directly pressed the plastic underneath; no difference. Slso hooked up an external keyboard - still no f!!!!!
After searching the forums, we have found that many people have had luck removing their keyboard and checking the ribbon cable or the airport spring - do not want to do something so drastic if there is an easier fix.

Just an update if anyone has any more ideas - (troy enn - thanks, but nothing was assigned in my Universal Access to the f key).
The f letter works in upper case, just not lower case. So, for now, I am just using the character palette, and inserting an f if I need it - thankfully, for some reason I don't seem to use it all that much!

Can I use gmail instead of yahoo in combination with Adobe Reader

Adobe Reader has the ability to attach a pdf to an email. It is defaulting to Yahoo mail. I have changed the default email in firefox to gmail, but that does not seem to impact anything. I have also tried to change the email client within Adobe Reader, but couldn't do it.
Is there a way to use gmail as the email client?

I realize it, but is sending me now to yahoo.com. Why can I not sent it to gmail instead of yahoo.
Also, if I were to use outlook how would I set that up? I cannot find a place anywhere to make changes to the email client Adobe Reader is using.

Since my_tab2.workstation is unique, there's no reason to do a separate sub-query like mt1; we can join my_tab1 to my_tab2 and get the SUM all in one sub-query.

The tricky part is how and when to get SUM (my_value). You might approach this by figuring out exactly what my_tab3 has to be cross-joined to; that is, exactly what should the result set of the full outer join between my_tab1 and my_tab2 look like. If you want me to, i can easily construct a small testcase based on the hr schema and send it to [email protected]. We have encountered the same behavior in both jheadstart 11.1.1.2.46 and 11.1.1.2.29 versions. Also in jdeveloper 11.1.1.2.0 the first exception is not thrown in the logs (this occurs only in jdeveloper 11.1.1.4.0) but the behavior of the jhs lov after the return of the popup is the same through both the ide versions.

Smart card logon with third party CA combined with ADFS to Office 365

I've been trying figure out how to implement ADFS to Office 365 in MS cloud in our environment, with little luck. I have a working 2012 domain and we are already using smart card logon on Windows 7/8 workstations. Certificates on smart cards are issued by
3rd party CA. This far every thing is fine and working, necessary root certificates are added to trusted Trusted Root Certification Authorities, UPN suffixes and users' UPNs are set according to UPN on the certificates and users successfully log on to
workstations with smart cards.
Now I face the requirement to enable SSOto Office 365 with accounts from our AD. I've been told by our MS partner and Dr. Google that in order to do that user account name (upn) in AD and in O365 need to match. Now the fact that account UPN in our AD is
not usable in O365 (because it is set to match 3rd party certificate UPN) and I have not found a way to enable smart card log on without changing UPN in AD.
Does anyone has experience of such a configuration? Is it possible to use AD federation to O365 at all in our case?

Absolutely! The only OS that needs intel is Snow Leopard, 10.6.xx You can certainly upgrade to the last iteration of Leopard [10.5.8.combo update|http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/macosx_updates/macosx1058com boupdate.html] without any problem. Just make sure you have maxed out your RAM.

P45 Neo3: Vista64 SP1 does not install with bios 1.4 (did with 1.3)

Today I tried to reinstall Vista 64-bits SP1 and the system repeatedly hangs with an underscore-like blinking cursor when Vista (install) is supposed to boot from the hard disk... (after I've entered all info and Vista has unpacked and copied files to the hard disk)
I think this is weird because the same DVD installed fine about a week ago when I was most probably still using the 1.3 BIOS (I've upgraded to 1.4 recently).
Note that I chose not to enter a key during installation, so it should not be an activation problem (Vista has a 30-day grace period, right?)
Do other P45 Neo3 (MS-7514) owners have the same problem? How did you solve it? (besides downgrading the BIOS - if that's possible at all)

In the example dispatcher configuration there is a setting called DispatcherDeclineRoot which has a comment saying: if turned to 1, request to / are not handled by the dispatcher, use the mod_alias then for the correct mapping. Can anyone explain how to use mod_alias in combination with the dispatcher module? For example, how can I configure it to serve static content for a specific alias and go to CQ for other requests? Can someone provide an example configuration?

It still doesn't quite work the way I want it to... Indeed, when you deny it in the dispatcher config, apache is trying to serve it. However, apache is looking for the file under /var/www/html which is the docroot configured in the dispatcher config. But my files are somewhere else, and there's an Alias defined for this in my apache config file. For some reason apache is not using this alias definition, the dispatcher docroot setting seems to be taking precedence. I tried several of the dispatcher settings (like DispatcherDeclineRoot and DispatcherUseProcessedURL) but to no avail. The reason why I'm not just putting my static files under /var/www/html is because I don't want them to get mixed up with the CQ cache. I want to be able to clear everything in the cache without touching these files I want to serve statically.
Any thoughts?

Sequence in combination with function

Hi,
I have an issue with a sequence in combination with a function.
I want to generate some kind of an inventory material report that contains some kind of a material ID (a non-repeating, auto-incrementing number, gaps allowed). However I have to keep track of which material IDs I have used for which inventory material, for traceability reasons. Another important requirement is that whenever the report is run, that the returned material IDs are never repeating. So repeatedly runs for the same inventory material should always return new material ID.
So I was about to create a simple PL/SQL function where I pass my data from traceability as parameters. Then the function uses internally a sequence (nextval) to generate a new material ID, then stores the new material ID with the related values from the input parameters into a table (autonomous transaction) and returns the new ID.
This works pretty fine so far.
Now the tricky part: I want have a SQL statement where I want to return one and the same ID in different columns.
Let me give an example:

7                      7                      So query 3 is the one that gives me headaches. I need to return one and the same ID in different columns. But this returns just two different IDs. I know that the optimizer will merge the two select statements into one and therefore execute the function twice. Does anybody know how I could avoid this?
What is a bit strange to me is that query 5 really returns what I need, but at a first glance I would say it should not do so. I would say that using nextval would return me again another sequence number.
This is confusing... Can anybody explain this and advise how I could build a query were I can get the same ID two times per row?
I know I can totally get rid of the sequence in my function and use something different, but I was wondering if I can avoid changing my function.

Hash tables in combination with data references to the line type.

I'm having an issue with hash tables - in combination with reference variables.
Consider the following: (Which is part of a class) - it attempts to see if a particular id exists in a table; if not add it; if yes change it.

I get compile errors on the insert statement - either "You cannot use explicit index operations on tables with types HASHED TABLE" or "ANY TABLE".      It is possible that.
If I don't dereference the type then I get the error LS_MEASUREMENT cannot be converted to the line type of GT_MEASUREMENTS.
I'm not looking to solve this with a combination of references and work ares - want a reference solution.

I think it might work when you change it for
insert ls_measurement->* into TABLE gt_measurements.
For hashed table a new line here will be inserted according to given table key.
