Can use the internet but only one computer at a time...

I have a very old PC with no ethernet ports and i have one macbook pro. I just bought an airport base station and have connected it to my modem via an ethernet cable, and the modem is then connected to my PC via USB.
This set up allows me to connect wirelessly with my macbook pro, but if i want to connect to the net via my PC it won't let me...unless i turn off the base station and then reboot the modem. but now i can't connect wirelessly.
Apple guys say, because I'm not connected directly to the PC from the base station (due to no ethernet ports) I'll never get round this problem. Before I give up, is there any thoughts on how i can resolve this catch 22?

When I encountered the same problem a while back, I discovered that I had mistakenly connected the ethernet cable from my modem into one of the <-----> (ethernet) port on the back of my Airport instead of the O (WAN) port.
It belongs in the O port.
I hope your problem is this simple to solve.

It sounds like your new connection to the web has some ports blocked. Could you please provide us with more details as to exactly how you are now connecting to the web?

No I don't have any firewall that I know of that could affect the Desktop app. I have reviewed the link you sent across and the results are as follows:
1. Make sure you can connect to the internet.
Yes, internet is all good... no problems here.
2. Make sure that you can access secure sites:
Yes, I can access secure sites as tested by the example in the list (https://www.adobe.com).
3. Check your hosts file.
Test successful after going to: https://lm.licenses.adobe.com
Moving on to reset the hosts file...
I've followed the instructions and I get to "Select the hosts file and open it".
If I simply double click, then the default is to open in TextEdit.
Once open, I go to find File > Save As, but it only says, "Save a Duplicate" and then once I save a duplicate, I don't know where to save it because the Save window only shows the basic folders and I don't know how to get back into the /etc folder from the Private files.
More instructions please, if possible?

Home sharing is turned on on both of my computers but only one computer is showing the icon.

I have both of my computers turned on and home sharing is turned on on both computers as well but only one computer is showing the icon so I can't share. I have tried turning off the home share and turning it back on but nothing changed.

To clarify for anyone who is still having any problems doing this.
1. Unlock your phone with the carrier ( I know the process will work if it is jail broken but I am assuming you dont want to void the warranty on your phone) NOTE: even if you purchased the phone outright at Wal-Mart it is still locked to ATT so you will have to unlock the phone. If it's already unlocked skip to step 2. This works and will work even if you update the phone.

2. Get a T- mobile SIM. Even if you don't want the service, if you feign interest, they will send you one for free or 99cents. If you need it now you can get one at a T-mobile store too.

The AirPorts, unlike routers provided by other manufacturers, do not provide a web-based administration interface ... so the PS3 or any browser would not work.

If your Mac is using the Lion operating system with recent updates, it will be necessary to download and install AirPort Utility 5.6 for Mac OS X Lion
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility 5.6
Select the AirPort Extreme and click Manual Setup
Click the Wireless tab just below the row of icons
Click the Wireless Network Options button
Remove the check mark next to Create a closed network
Click Done, then click Update to save the new settings and allow 25-30 seconds for the AirPort Extreme to restart

Numbers 09 not working - I can open the program but only a few files are available, missing blank, checklist and many others. e.g when I click on a file I get this error: The document "nmbtemplate is invalid. The index.xml file is missing. help.

Numbers in iWork 09 not working can't access Blank, Checklist and many other files within Numbers. I can open the program but only a few files are available. When I click on the file (which also has no icon just the name of the file) this warning appears:

I recently had to get a new hard drive installed and had the system upgraded and more memory put in by a Mac certified specialist recommended to me from the Apple store in Northbrook because this was the 3rd time my drive went bad but this time it was to old (I got the IMAC- in 2007) and the Apple store could no longer work on it this time so they recommended a few places that had certified Mac specialists. Since then Numbers is not working right.
I'm sure it's something simple to fix, but I've tried re installing it and that didn't work. Appreciate any help.

There is one way its getting fixed. Once I update my Adobe Illustrator CC to Adobe Illustrator CC 2014 it is further allowing me to go into the system folder and allocate the font to the file so that it can replace it. My only concern now is that our MAC partners who will receive these files back from us have Adobe CS6. We will down save it to CS6 but I hope they won't experience any font issues because of us using CC 2014? Any light you can shed on this?

You are correct. Syncing should transfer any purchased media, including videos, from your device to your iTunes library provided your computer is authorized for the Apple ID used to make these purchases. You mentioned that you have uninstalled iTunes before, but if you didn't follow this guide exactly, uninstalling iTunes and all of its components in the order specified, it may not have been successful so you should try again: Windows XP or Windows Vista/7.

Itr depends upon the device and your carrier. Contact BB and your carrier support.website. Typically you have to subscribe (pay) to setup the hotspot but that depends upon the carrier.
You can also Google for;
setup wifi hotspot for XX blackberry with YY
XX is your model BB and YY is your carrier.

AP Extreme only allowing internet access to one computer at a time

I'm sure this has been covered before, but I can't find a post on point. Have a brand new AP Extreme, with DSL to AP, then wireless to MBP and hard wired to 2 PC's running XP. Finally got it all running together, but the AP Extreme isn't allowing the various computers to share the internet connection. When one computer tries to access internet via mail or browser, receive msg "Internet cnnection currently in use by xxx.xx.x.xx (IP number for one of net computers). Enter DSL login password to switch the internet connection to this computer."
So, now what? How do I configure this network to share the internet connection among the 3 computers? AP is set up as bridge only.

Sorry for the delay, but I wasn't able to access the forums. I finally hooked up the old wired router and PC.
If I configure the AEBS to PPPoE (which is what earthlink wants), I get an error message "Looking for PPPoE server". The network status shows "connected to Internet". Could this be a mistake in the MBP settings or the AEBS settings?
If I revert to using DHCP, then I continue to get the Double NAT error (at least it's reproduceable). I can connect in a limited fashion this way, but some pages (Apple.com prominently) won't load, and my email is very limited.
I see that a number of others are having the same issue with Earthlink. I have several docs from both Earthlink and Apple that purportedly solve the problem...except they don't for me.
So, two questions: in your original post, you suggested that I place my modem in "bridge" mode. How would I do this? I can use either the MBP, wired or wireless, or the PC wired. Once I accomplish that, would that allow me to reconfigure the AEBS back to PPPoE mode sucessfully?
2nd query: do you know a way to configure the MBP to connect with an earthlink ADSL modem using PPPoE. Switching back and forth (wired router to AEBS) it is evident that my problem is the AEBS is not configured correctly with my MBP and Earthlink.
I've been back and forth a dozen times, in every conceivable combination...MBP wired directly to modem, everything hard wired to Linksys router, AEBS & PC's hard wired to Linksys...this is making me crazy.

I have sync'd the movies (these are mp4 files) that I wanted transfered, but only one is showing in the folder. There are 13 other movies in the folder that have the ICloud symbol in the corner of their picture. I understand that I can pull those movies from ICloud any time I want to watch them, but I want to watch the ones that I've just sync'd with my IPad. How do I find them? After I checked the movies I wanted, I "applied" them and watched it sync and copy the wanted movies to my IPad. Now what? Thanks.

There are some good programs that you could use to convert the format, Handbrake or Mpegstreamclip are two good free ones. Convert them to MP4 and then try importing them again.
