Can users have their own subscription in SSRS?

Is there a way user can subscribe a report of his own in SSRS 2008R2?
We have about 20 reports and 400 users and everyone have their report parameter selection criteria. Is there a way they can default their parameter selection and subscribe?
Another requirement is
Is there a way to save favorite selections within a report to then choose them later.

Hi Jyo1105,
Answer1: According to your description, there are 20 reports and 400 users, you want to set specific parameter values based on recipients. If that is the case, we can achieve your goal by using Data-driven Subscription.
Reporting Services provides data-driven subscriptions so that you can customize the distribution of a report based on dynamic subscriber data. Data-driven subscriptions use query results to determine the recipients of the subscription, delivery settings,
and report parameter values. At run time, the report server runs a query to get values used for subscription settings. We can use the Create Data-driven Subscription pages to define the query and assign query values to subscription settings. For detail information,
please refer to the following steps:
1. Open Report Manager, and locate the report for which you want to create a data-driven subscription.
2. Hover over the report, and click the drop-down arrow.
3. In the drop-down menu, click Manage. This opens the General properties page for the report.
4. Select the Subscriptions tab, and then click New Data-driven Subscription.
5. Select the delivery extension and data source for the subscription.
6. Specify a query that retrieves subscriber data like below:
CREATE TABLE Name (
Group varchar(20),
Country varchar(20),
Type varchar(20),
Email_to varchar(50)
INSERT INTO Name
('Group1', ’Country1’, ’Type1’, '[email protected]'),
('Group2', ’Country2’, ‘Type2’, '[email protected]'),
('Group3',’Country3’, ’Type3’, '[email protected]')
7. Specify delivery extension options like below:
8. Specify report parameters for the subscription like below:
9.  Specify when the subscription is processed, then click Finish to save the configuration.
For more information about Data-driven Subscription, please refer to the following documents:
http://msbimentalist.wordpress.com/2013/08/26/how-to-create-data-driven-subscription-in-ssrs/
Answer2: As per my understanding, there may be several parameters in the report, when users preview the report, they need to select values for each parameter. So you want to save some selections as favorite.
In Reporting Services, we could not achieve the goal directly. As a workaround, we can use snapshot. For more details, please refer to the following steps:
1. Open Report Manager, and navigate to the report.
2. Hover over the report, and click the drop-down arrow.
3. In the drop-down menu, click Manage.
4. Click Parameter in the left pane, set default values for the parameters, then click Apply.
5. Click Report History in the left pane, click New Snapshot.
In this way, the parameter selections are saved, when we click the snapshot, the report server retrieves the stored report from the report server database, and shows the data, parameter selections and layout at the time when the snapshot was created.
If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.
Best Regards,
Wendy Fu

  • Can Users have their unique Form Settings for the List of Items (Item Search)?

When any user add and remove columns for the List of Items (Item Search) via Form Settings, these changes are automatically updated for all SAP users.
Is there any way we that each user have their own unique List of Items form settings?
This is important as users for different departments will be need to see different information as they are searching for Item Master records.

    Hi Ron,
    This is not Possible.
Form Setting of Item Master Data will apply for all Users.
For all Users different Form Settings not Possible but you can guide your users to see while Searching Master Data.
    Hope this helps

  • Fleet phones: Why must each user have their own App Store account?

I've purchased roughly 25 iPhones for my employees and am trying to lumber through the tedious process of managing these as fleet assets.  There are a handful of mission-critical apps I'd like to deploy.  I've signed up with an MDM platform (Bushel).  I've enrolled in both of Apple's fleet programs (VPP and DEP).  And, still, I'm running into precisely the obstacle I'm needing to get around:  the requirement that every user has their own individual App Store account, with a Credit Card number on file, etc.
Why must this be?  These are company-owned phones.  Most of my employees are unionized and, quite frankly, the union is none too happy about the nature of the apps I'm deploying (which have to do with GPS tracking and time/attendance).  I simply cannot require my union employees to sign up for an account in their names and require a credit card number.
Even lowly Blackberry figured this out a long time ago.  If Apple is going after more fleet business, they need to become more fleet friendly.

I did some searches before my post, but actually found some things AFTER I made my post that sounded encouraging. If I understand correctly, we should be able to continue sharing the AppleID we use to buy apps and music on all of our devices. We can configure our personal devices and computers to use separate personal iCloud accounts, but somehow share the music and apps with each other. I guess I'm still not clear on how it'll work. :-)

  • HT4865 does every iphone user in my house have to have their own itunes account?

Up untill now my wife and I have shared one itunes account, namely mine. Now my 14 year old daughter has earned her own Iphone and her two brothers are sure to follow. My question is... How should we manage all our information now. Should each user have their own itunes account and Icloud? I dont want all my work contacts, my wifes work contacts being shared with our kids. How do we share music if we each have a seperate account?

You can all share the same Apple ID for purchasing music and apps without any problems, but you should have separate iCloud accounts using separate IDs on each device to avoid merging your data.  (If you share the same iCloud account any data you sync with the account such as contacts and calendars will be merged ending up with the issue you're concerned about.)  The important thing to know is that you don't need to use the same ID for purchasing as you use for other services such as iCloud.
You should also use differend IDs for FaceTime and iMessage to avoid getting each other's text messages and FaceTime calls.  This article may be of interest in this regard: http://www.macstories.net/stories/ios-5-icloud-tips-sharing-an-apple-id-with-you r-family/.

  • Define if users or functional owner can self-approve their own requests-OIM

I have a scenario where in if a user replaces his manager as proxy and makes a request for a resource, the approval task triggered goes to the user itself and the user can approve it. I want to deactivate this functionality.
I was told that since BP12 has been applied, OIM allows us to define if users or functional owner can self-approve their own requests. Is this possible and if yes then how to go about it??
    Thanks in advance.

Per BP11 for OIM 10g documentation:
9649346 A user could approve or update the user's own request. This feature could not be disabled. From this release onward, this feature can be enabled or disabled depending on your requirement. See Section 3.10, "Using the XL.AllowBeneficiaryToApprove System Property" for information about implementing the fix for this item.>
There is also this in BP11:
9271449 Requesters could reassign approval tasks to themselves. See Section 3.9, "Using the XL.RequesterCanBeApprover System Property" for information about implementing the fix for this item.>
System configuration variables in 10g are in the design console. In 11g, they are in the web console.

    CREATE A NEW USER
Go to System Preferences --> Create a New User in Users & Groups
Decide on whether to setup as Admin or Standard User.
Switch to the New User by logging out under the Apple in the Menu Bar or use Fast User Switching
Fast User Switching allows other users to leave current applications and windows open. Depending on RAM, you might need to log out rather than use FUS.

  • I am running 4 ipod classica through one computer and one itunes account/profile.  The ipods belong to me, husband and 2 kids.  How can the kids now get their own accounts but keep the stuff I have already downloaded for them?  They have their own laptops

I am currently running 4 ipod classics through my own account/profile on itunes.  They belong to me, my husband and 2 kids.
The kids are getting older now and have their own laptops.  I would like them to have their own itunes accounts as they will be away from home much of the time and will want to make their own puchases.
How can I set them up so that they are independent from my account, but not lose the content that I have downloaded for them over the years?  (A lot of content).

You and your husband can share a store account and still have seperate iCloud accounts for your contacts, bookmarks and stuff like that.  Click here for instructions to make an apple account without entering a credit card.  Make sure you use a different email address for each apple account.
Set up your iPhone/iPad whatever using the new account for iCloud.  Then go into settings/store and sign in with your purchasing account, you may need to sign out of the other account.  To the best of my knowledge, your household is allowed to share purchased legally, someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
Once you each have your own devices set to your own accounts you can set them to backup to that account and it will keep all your contacts seperate.

  • Can I set my kids up under my apple ID but with separate accounts so they all have their own cloud memory?

can I set my kids up under my apple ID but with separate accounts so they all have their own cloud memory?

  • I have an Apple ID, and shared purchases with my 3 kids devices. Now they want to have their "own accounts" so when they get iTunes gift cards, they can pay for their own things. Can we share these purchases? My household is as follows:

I have Mac Mini with Lion Server running 10.8.2 and an iPhone 4.
Wife has iPad 2 and iPhone 4s. (We share Apps)
Each kid (12 and under) has iPod Touch 4th Gen.
So far all purchases made under my Apple ID/iTunes ID.
Is there a way to let the kids have their own account- they get giftcards.... but if I buy an App they can still share it?
so if Child 1 buys an App, or song, can we all enjoy it, but it's purchased from his 'own' account?

    @survivethestorm.
Firstly thanks for the blog, I think it has saved me time contacting customer support?  I too am going thru the introduction of several kids devices, along with my wifes, onto the one iTunes account and on one PC computer (currently we have 3 x iPhones, 2 x iPod touches, 2 older iPods and soon to have iPad).  Syncing all devices hasn't been a problem to date as far as music, apps etc but I too have discovered the texting problem you described above, with my sent texts showing on the kids devices, and vice-versa, much to my horror!  It appears this is now only becoming a problem with the later iOS software and/or devices?
It appears as you have described above, customer support has indicated by creating a separate Apple Account for each person, this fixes the texting problem?  Have there been any issues then with syncing apps, music etc after creating the accounts?  I currently dont use iCloud, I simply sync each device on connection via usb to the computer, and choose what is being synced to each device.  I like to control (at this point anyway) what is actually going on to the kids devices.  Do you know if there is a limit as to how many 'Apple Accounts' can share the one iTunes Library?  I realise the number of devices is unlimited to the one account, but just wondered if the number of Apple Accounts changes things?
Once an Apple Account has been created for each person, do you then have to share your iTunes Library (Apps, Music etc) or does it do it automatically do so when they log in?
Also I presume you don't need credit card details for the Apple Account?  It was a long time ago I set my original one up.
Sorry for the 'long winded' reply, just very confused and want to make sure I am doing the right thing.
    Many thanks.

  • My kids are on my email account.  I want them to now have their own accounts.  Can they still use all of my music and apps?

I have my kids' iPods on my account.  I want to put them on their own accounts.  Is there a way I can do this without having them lose all of the stuff on my account?  And can they still sync things that I download if they're using my computer?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
If your children are under 13, you should open 2 new accounts for yourself and let them use it. They can use these ID's for iCloud and so have their own email! contacts! calendars etc, but still share your original ID for iTunes for apps, music, etc. You can continue to sync them with your computer.

  • My children are currently sharing an account with my ex husband, how can create them their own account so they are not dependent on him, will they lose all their music they have bought on his account?

As far as I can tell, they don't have their own libraries or store accounts

Thank you this helps, also once they create their own id, will their purchased songs be theirs?
    Yes.
Can they share a library together somehow??
They can either share an Apple ID, or, if they create two seperate accounts, they can authorize the same computer with two different apple IDs so purchases across both accounts are accessible on the same machine.
An additional option for sharing an iTunes library across machines on the same network exists:

  • I just purchased two Macbook Air along with two Time Capsule (2TB) for my kids. Meanwhile I use a sagemcom ADLS modem/router for home use. Can I connect both Time Capsule and laptop which will allow both laptop to have their own backup system?

I want both of the computers to have their own independent time capsule.

want both of the computers to have their own independent time capsule.
I assume that you are asking about using the Time Capsules for Time Machine backups here, correct?
If yes, both MBAs will be able to select the specific Time Capsule that they will use for backups, so "point" MBA1 to Time Capsule 1 and MBA2 to Time Capsule 2.
Since you will have plenty of available backup space if you use two Time Capsules, you might want to consider having each MBA back up to both Time Capsule 1 and Time Capsule 2.
This way, if one Time Capsule fails, you will still have a complete set of backups for both MBAs.

  • HOW TO?: Need help setting up 3 different iCloud accounts for my kids (so each has own iMessanger)using same Apple ID (mine) ....they don't have their own separate email addresses to work from...how do I do this?

Need help setting up 3 different iCloud accounts for my kids (so each has own iMessanger)using same Apple ID (mine) ....they don't have their own separate email addresses to work from...how do I do this?

Any devices connected to the same icloud account can sync all the data on that account.  For this reason an icloud account is really for a single user.
On a mac, if each user has their own account, then the itunes for that mac account should be set up to connect to that user's icloud account (System preferences>icloud).

  • How to get virtual hosts to have their own default webapps?

Is there a way to have several virtual hosts to have their own default
    webapps?
I have five virtual hosts on my server, and I used to be able to deploy the
webapps to the server, target a server and a virtual host, and then the
default app to use. But I can't see that anymore in wls8.1. I looked
around the web for some help, and all I could find was some reference to the
<context-root> node. The problem with that solution is, when I put that in
each of the webapps for the virtual hosts, only one gets the "/"
context-root, and the rest can't use that.
I would like to be able to have users just type out the virtual hosts URL to
get access to the webapp. Surely a server as powerful as WebLogic can do
that. I used to be able to do this in 7.0sp1. Any ideas? Thanks.

Unfortunately you cannot split (nor merge) items purchased with an AppleID.  I am not clear on what you will have to do to allow them continued access to their music on your account.  Apple no longer has DRM protection in its music but then I also hear people have all kinds of authorization issues when trying to synch so it sounds like they still keep restrictions on what you can do with the music when trying to move it about.  I'll let somebody more experienced with syncing answer this part.  You may have to authorize their computers and devices to your AppleID to allow them all functionality with the music.
Ideally you would have set them up with their own AppleIDs years ago but...
