Can we add internal bluetooth to our MacPro 1.1?

We have a Mac Pro 1,1, purchased in mid 2006 (not sure if it's a 2005 model), Dual Core, 2 GHz, running 10.6.8 but thinking of upgrading to Mountain Lion.
After recently purchasing a wireless mouse, I discovered we do NOT have bluetooth installed, though we DO have the AirPort card installed. I've researched online, and am under the impression that this can be added? I've seen external dongles, and internal cards. My ideal would be to install an internal card (I'm assuming we have the internal antenna).
I've seen referenced that if you do it yourself you can void warranties, and should have it installed at an Apple store. When I called the local Apple store to ask if this was true, that bloke told me flat out that you cannot install one, that it had to have been installed when you purchased the model (which seems incorrect, as I've found numerous examples online of folks putting them in, and have opened up my mac to see the very spot where the card could go, as well as the cord to connect to the board. I'm thinking he may have been more of a sales rep as he immediately followed up with how desperately ancient my 6-year-old MacPro is and that I should consider replacing it, even though it's in perfect working order.)
Can anyone clear this up for me? It seems like the process should be straightforward. If you could include which model of bluetooth option we should look for, that would be appreciated, as well as installation instructions.
Thanks!
Heather

  • Can I add internal bluetooth, WiFi to September 2007 Mac Pro?

I have a Quad Core 2.66 GHz Mac Pro purchased in September 2007, and it didn't come with Bluetooth or WiFi built in. I would like to add both, but I would prefer not to use USB dongles. Aside from already having enough USB crap to plug in, I want my bluetooth and WiFi devices to be available while booting, especially bluetooth, as I want to get a Magic Mouse and a wireless Apple Keyboard.
I've tried searching the forums and Apple's online store, but I haven't found anything. I've been told that retail stores may be able to sell me a bluetooth module, but it's a PITA to install.
Can you folks offer any more advice? Can I look at something like a PCI card, or is it possible to get these parts from Apple and install them myself? I have AppleCare for another year or so, for what that's worth.
    Thanks for any help.

Yes, you still can. However, if you are looking for the part to install yourself I don't believe its a user installable part. But here is what it looks like:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/Apple-Bluetooth-Card-Module-for-iMac-and-MacPro-A1115W0QQitemZ130313469943QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain0?hash=item1e5749bff7
    Here is another: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=220498181165&Category=44999&_ trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26its%3DI%26otn%3D2
But, at this point, you can easily get a bluetooth 2.1 usb adapter and wouldn't have to pay Apple to install it. Only the 2008/2009 mac pros come with the bluetooth module already.

  • Add internal bluetooth module for Probook 5310m, cannot receive files

Hi, I tried to add internal bluetooth module for my probook 5310m, which should be very similar to 4311s and 5320m.
I did installed the module and cable by following the maintenance guide, but there is something wrong about the driver so I cannot receive files through bluetooth from either my smartphone or my another laptop. My phone showed " The transfer is forbidden by the target device( which means 5310m)".
The bluetooth module I got is Broadcom 2070 bluetooth 3.0. My operation system is windows 7 ultimate 32. I tried driver package sp52773 and some earlier version but none of them works. I even let windows update drivers by itself, it still did not work. The only good part is my bluetooth headphone works perfectly and I can sent stuff out from my 5310m. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I really want to fix this since I use bluetooth a lot. I will really appreciate your help.
    Thank you again.
    Jing

I found a way to fix this problem. I install the bluesoleil software and everything works fine finally. Thank god.

  • How can we add a control on our .jsp webpage for uploading several image fi

How can we add a control on our .jsp webpage for uploading several image files as done in gmail attachment, Where a Remove button also appears if we wanna remove the particular attachment.

The SCOM Management Server is in Domain A.  I've tried it already and it has failed.
So just to clarify the method I used was to go to Administration>Security>User Roles.  Then New User Role>Read-Only Operator.  In the Create User Role Wizard I then gave the User Role a name, Clicked "Add" under User Role Members.
Then the Select Users or Groups window pops up and I changed the Locations from Domain A to Domain B and searched for the user, which it's able to find, then clicked "OK" to add it to the User Role members which it does just fine.  On
the next page which is Group Scope I checked the one group I want this account to have access to and then click next.  This brings me to Dashboards and Views where I click the radio button for "Only the dashboards and views selected in each tab are
approved" and chose the folder of dashboards I want this account to access and then click next.  This brings me to the Summary and I click "Create".  At this point it thinks for a moment then closes out the wizard but the new Read-Only
Operator does not appear.  I then look in Event Viewer and see the Event I pasted above.
Am I doing something wrong here?  Any guidance on how to get around this issue would be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Jake

We have a complete CC business membership and currently have the programs installed on 2 computers but need to add them onto a 3rd. Can we add a licence to our membership or do we need to purchase an additional membership?

If you have Creative Cloud for teams, and you bought the licenses through Adobe direct (via Adobe.com), you can add licenses yourself, and they will be invoiced automatically as you get invoiced for the other two licenses.
Log into adobe.com with your team admin Adobe ID and password.
Once logged in you should be able to access a Manage Team option from the menu.
In the top-right corner there should be an Add Licenses button, that lets you purchase any number of additional licenses.
If you've not purchased through Adobe direct, but through a reseller, you'd need to contact your reseller to add the additional license.
    Hope this helps,
    Cari

  • If we got Nexus 1000V from VMWARE , can we add the N1K to our CCO ( Cisco Account ) to have direct support from Cisco

    Hi
If we got Nexus 1000V from VMWARE , can we add the N1K to our CCO ( Cisco Account ) to have direct support from Cisco
as sometimes it take some more time to get answer from VMWARE -> Cisco
    Thanks

No.  When you purchase support from Vmware, they are your support contact and they will escalate support to Cisco on your behalf if needed.  This is the case for all OEM support.  Cisco provides support for RHEL, Microsoft and VMware.  We follow the same practice.
Deciding who to purchase support from is a decision of single point of contact for all VMware & N1K related issues vs. maintaining separate support contracts with each vendor individually.

  • Can I add a bluetooth internal card into a "17 iMac5,2?

    Hi all
I just got a 17" 1.83mhz imac (late 2006CD) and while checking the internal system info I saw
that it didn't have any bluetooth hardware so I was wondering can I install a bluetooth card from
an imac that doesn't work (from about the same year as mine)? I haven't opened up mine yet but
wanted to know if it can be done. Yes I know that there are some "usb bluetooth dongles" but I
would prefer to get an org Apple card and install it inside my imac and to keep my 3 usb ports free.
    Thanks!!!
    Serge

    HI Kappy!
Thanks for your response!! Ok so what company would you recommend for this
dongle so that it can work with Apple Bluetooth products (key, mouse etc...)?
    Thanks!!

  • Can I add internal storage to a mac mini?

I am out of space and have plenty of external storage,   I just think that it works better with internal storage.

You can add a larger hard drive to your mini. Assuming it's an Intel-based mini, you can add a serial ATA hard drive up to 1GB, maybe more. I like, and use, Western Digital Scorpio Black drives, which come with a 5 year warranty (versus 1-3 years for others).  You can see some serial ATA choices here.

  • Can't add any attachments to our POP or IMAP messages

    Grrrrrr ... !!
I have this problem on 2 machines in my house so both me and my partner are stuck unable to attach files to our IMAP and POP accounts. When ever I click attach in any part of the GUI nothing happens. I can't drag and drop either. She the same. This is the only common problem between our machines and the ones I've posted earlier.
I have repaired my disk permissions.
    I have used >> Mailbox/Syncronize All Accounts drop-down
I have used >> Mailbox/Rebuild on all my IMAP and POP accounts

Please, clarify the circumstances of the crash. Did Mail crash while trying to add an attachment to a message you were composing (which is what this thread is about)? Or is the crash related to one of the other two problems you posted about in separate threads?
When an application crashes (i.e. quits unexpectedly), the system writes information about the state of the application at the moment of the crash to a log file. That information is called a crash report and makes troubleshooting easier. In order to find and paste the relevant part of the crash report here, proceed as follows:
    1. Open ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/Mail.crash.log. The whole crash log appears in a Console window (you can also open that file with any text editor). It may contain many crash reports. We only want the latest, which is located at the bottom of the file.
    2. Look for a line that begins with “Date/Time:” as close to the bottom as possible, and another that says “Thread N Crashed:”, where N is a number. Select everything from the “Date/Time:” line to the lines immediately following “Thread N Crashed:”. Copy that text and paste it here. Do not post the whole crash log, and do not include anything beyond the lines immediately following “Thread N Crashed:” either, just the relevant part.
Take a look at the following thread for examples of what a crash report looks like:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=466701
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder, i.e. ~/Library is the Library folder within the user’s home folder.

  • How can I add wifi & bluetooth to late 2006 Mac Pro

I have a dual 2.66 Xeon Mac Pro purchased new in December 2006. I wanted to add the airport wifi and bluetooth card but have been told by the technical line that Apple no longer makes these. They suggested I would have to pursue a third party solution which I find remarkable.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to go about this or practical experience in doing it?
    Cheers,
    Gord

Look on eBay or search Google. You can check ifixit.com to see if they carry the part. You should be able to find online tutorials via Google on how to install it. Some disassembly is required.

  • After the iOS 5.1.1 update,I can't connect to Bluetooth on our iPads

SInce the iOS 5.1.1 update I can no longer connect to our Bose Sounddock via Bluetooth on both of our iPads.  I can still connect to the Sounddock via bluetooth with my iPhone as I have not completed the iOS upgrade. The speaker still works because i have obtained a hard line connection to the iPads and via bluetooth to the iPhone as discussed.  Any suggestions?

  • Add internal bluetooth module to dv4-2155dx, possible?

Just got a dv4-2155dx to replace my dv4-1435dx, since I like this notebook.  It doesn't come with bluetooth, however, so I was wondering if I can add it myself.  I got the part from HP Parts, but just wanted to know if anyone knows if there's even a space on the motherboard for this module, as I'm aware it might not have it.
    Thanks!

    Hi:
Yes there should be.  You need both the module and cable.
See Chapter 3 page 3-8, item #17 of the service manual.  There are two cables depending on whether you have UMA (shared system memory) or discrete graphics on your model.
Below is the link to the service manual. Please read chapter 4, preliminary procedures.
Then read chapter 4, page 4-42 and if you have the stomach for it, you will find the procedures to install the bluetooth module.

Me?  I would purchase a little USB Bluetooth adapter.

How can we write a code for the same and what would be the syntax of that code.

    Hi,
you should copy the 'STANDARD' GUI status from program SAPLKKBL using transaction SE90 >Programming SubObjects> Gui Status.
    ENTER SAPLKKBL PROGRAM
    STATUS STANDARD.
    exexute.
select standard  check box. copy to your zprogram and your gui status.
Enter your Z program name and the name you what for this status - you can keep it as 'STANDARD' to be simple.
then go to se 38 double click on pf status .it goes to me41 screen .
there you can add your button along with predefined buttons on application toolbar.
then write code for button using user command event.
    Code:
    Form Set_pf_status
    Notes: Called by FM REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY
    FORM set_pf_status USING rt_extab TYPE slis_t_extab.
      SET PF-STATUS 'ZSTANDARD'.
    ENDFORM. "Set_pf_status
In the above case the GUI status copied was named ZSTANDARD and adjusted accordingly, adding and removing the desired buttons. A button was added called '%DELETE'.

    Code:
    Form User_command
    Notes: Called by FM REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY
           Detects whether the icon/button for
'Return Tag Deletion' has been pressed. If it has then

  • Add internal bluetooth adapter to HP Pavillion dv7-4285dx?

Hello, I have a  HP Pavillion dv7-4285dx and was wondering if it would be possible to make my notebook bluetooth capable and if so, what adapter(s) are compatible? I've been able to add adapters to other notebooks (mainly Dell) and during surching for a repair guide and my preliminaly dismantle, I found a couple empty connector plugs so maybe one of  those might be it. The guides I found weren't clear as to a module for my model. I was also trying to find out the model a step up from mine that would have the adapter already in it, but no luck. Any one out there able to help me out? I'd like to continue using my bluetooth mouse and headset.

That's one of the guides I thought would help but on p.87, it talks about model dv7-40XX using the 537921-001. Am I looking on the wrong page? When I tried talking with HP they kept giving me the run around and wouldn't even tell me if it was possible to add bluetooth to it.
Don't worry about it. Have a look at the page 1 and "Product Description". It says Dv7-4000 through Dv7-4299. This is why it says on the page 87 Dv7-40XX because it was meant for all the Dv7-4XXX laptops mentioned in the Product Description. I guess that all Intel laptops from the series use the same motherboard so the necessary slot for the bluetooth module should be there..

  • Can you add internal storage to a mackbook air (2010) edition?

can the flash be replaced / expanded for a larger one?

Apple doesn't provide that service but some 3rd party suppliers do, for example, macsales.com, but they are definitely not inexpensive.
