Can we add playcounts to albums/artists in newest itunes?

In the old itunes we were able to choose what information showed on the bar lines and we still are if we right click the header bar in songs, but I was wondering if there was a way to add your playcount number to the albums/artists section. It's really hard to tell the plays at a glance (which I love) unless I'm on the songs list (which I hate being on) if there's a way to add them to the other pages I would love to know how! I really don't care about how long the songs are or anything but the name, artist, and playcount.
Thanks you guys!

Zandr6,
Take a look at these resources to confirm how to add artwork:

Can I add photo stream albums to my SkyDrive albums?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Photos in the camera roll are those which (in most cases) are taken on the device, the photostream album contains photos which have been synced from photostream in the cloud, which can include photos from your camera roll as well as from other devices using photostream. Photostream photos can be lower resolution than the same photos in the camera roll.
Photos in photostream can be edited and saved to other albums.

  • How come I can't add a song to my playlists in itunes match? Is it me or itunes match? It keeps on coming up with a message " iCloud playlists can only contain songs from your iCloud music library. If you continue, the playlist will be removed from iCloud

How come I can't add a song to my playlists in itunes match? Is it me or itunes match? It keeps on coming up with a message " iCloud playlists can only contain songs from your iCloud music library. If you continue, the playlist will be removed from iCloud and will only be available on this computer"?
You must surely be able to add and subtract songs on specific playlist?

I fixed this issue (with help from tech support) and it involved several things.
After adding a song to iTunes, right-click on the song in iTunes and select "Update iTunes Match."
OR go to the iTunes menu-->Store-->Update iTunes Match.
Maybe that's the reason, it just hadn't updated to the cloud.
OR maybe it's not a high-enough bitrate file.   This happens to me because most of my tunes are home-recorded.
Sometimes converting to .mp3 or Create AAC version might work. (You do this with a right-click in iTunes, and then you will want to remove the original file from iTunes.)
There is an iTunes Preferences setting, under General Preferences called Import Settings.  Try setting it to AAC Encoder and iTunes Plus.   That (I think) causes imports to be slightly better quality.
Good luck!  The tech support person at Apple is requesting that a knowlege-base article be written about this.

  • HT1535 so I've done all that and I still can't add a playlist I've created in iTunes to the iPod...?

I've followed the instructions to tell the iPod that I want to manage music and video manually, but I still can't add a playlist I've created in iTunes to the iPod...

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

  • Can't add cover to albums

Now first off all, I apologize for the english and spelling, but i am from Denmark.
Second off all i have problems in itunes with some of the albums.
I simply can't add album artwork to the the album, not even manually.
Now these pictures should explain what I mean:
I've got this album and have added a lot off data and this is not the only album, but!
I can't add the album cover. I go in to see the information about the songs and see:
I can't get acces to the artwork option/fan.
    Someone who can help?

Well I found the answer elsewhere outside of this Apple forum.
You cannot add cover art unless all of the files in the album are MP3.
This brings up another problem because my iTunes preferences are set up such that the MP3 encoder converts music files to MP3.
However, apparently this function is not working consistently, and sometimes it converts WAV to MP3 and sometimes it doesn't.

  • Can't add songs, only albums...?

A quest to get more money from me? I can only add albums to my cart (no, I didn't upgrade iTunes to 9.x, still got a cart). Any work-arounds?

Error code in red is: "Could not add an item to your cart. An unknown error occurred (5002)." iTunes version 8.2. This only happens with songs, I can add albums fine. I can also one-click to purchase, which I discovered accidentally. I tried trashing iTunes.plist to no avail; upon signing in to my account had the same prob. Thinking about creating a new account and trying that.
Any 8.2 users out there? Having this issue?

  • Can I add a different album to an existing calendar project?

    Hi there,
I got a few calendar projects printed last year that worked well.
I could create brand new projects with this year's photos, but I'm wondering if I can just duplicate and reuse the projects from last year.
I duplicated the calendar projects OK, changed settings to this year, and managed to remove photos from the layout and the photo sidebar.
Now I can't see any way to add a new album with this year's photos.
I've tried dragging and dropping from the project/albums list on the left to the calendar project photo sidebar on the right but they just bounce.
I can't see anything in menus, nor have my searches here found anyone even asking about it.
Am I the only one lazy enough to try and recycle a calendar project from the year before?
    Thanks for any tips.

  • HT1473 How can I add a whole music folder to my iTunes v11

    Hi,
I just reformat my laptop (OS: Windows 7 pro) and I lost all the songs, albums, and playlist listed on iTunes. I do have all the songs backed up in my external hard drive, now my problem is how can I add songs back to the iTunes by folder? Before in the previous versions of iTunes, it used to have a option to "add folder to library" or something like that. Now there is no option like that, and all I can see now is "add file to library". If I use this method, it will take up so much time to do it.
    help please
    thank you!

The main differences between iTunes 11 and earlier versions are the loss of coverflow and ability to have multiple windows open.
In Windows, you can restore much of the look & feel of iTunes 10.7 with these shortcuts:
ALT to temporarily display the menu bar
CTRL+B to show or hide the menu bar
CTRL+S to show or hide the sidebar
CTRL+/ to show or hide the status bar (won't hide for me on Win XP)
Click the magnifying glass top right and untick Search Entire Library to restore the old search behaviour
Use View > Hide <Media Kind> in the cloud or Edit > Preferences > Store and untick Show iTunes in the cloud purchases to hide the cloud items. The second method eliminates the cloud status column (and may let iTunes start up more quickly)
If you don't like having different coloured background & text in the Album (Grid) view use Edit > Preferences > General and untick Use custom colours for open albums, movies, etc.
With iTunes 11.0.3 and later you can enable artwork in the Songs view from View > Show View Options (CTRL+J) making it more like the old Album List view
View > Show View Options (CTRL+J) also contains options to change the sorting of grid based views
The two entries in red will give you access to File > Add folder to library.

  • I already have an ipad, iPhone and iPod on my iTunes.  Can I add my wife's iPhone to my iTunes?

I already use iTunes for iPhone4, iPad and iPod classic.  Can I add another iPhone4 now my wife has one?  If I already set up an Apple ID for her, do I now need to keep the two separate or can I simply erase that Apple ID and put all devices and Itunes through the one Apple ID/iTunes?

It's alright, I don't have a Mac so I get confused too. The option key should be somewhere to the left of the space bar and look like it is trying to represent railway points.
I don't know how migration assistant works, but presumably it has dumped an iTunes folder somewhere on the Mac. Inside that should be a file called iTunes Library.itl that is the core of the library. Unfortunately iTunes "thinks different" so we can't just double click the file to open it, that opens whatever the "current" library is instead, so you'll need to hold down option (shift for Windows) to get a dialog to choose or create a library. Click choose and browse to the relevant file.
If iTunes can't play your music at this point and gives the exclamation mark of doom then we need to go back to the Windows 7 library, tweak it up for easy export then bring it over again. Overview here. Customized instructions on request.

  • Can I Add my iPod/iPhone to a New iTunes?

Since I'm still something of an Apple-product novice, can I add my iPod Touch and iPhone (both the current models) to a new computer. I'm sure I can, but what are the ramifications?
Also, when I buy apps, what exactly happens to them when this happens? Are they backed up somewhere, or can I back them up?
    Thank you for the help!

as far as i know there isn't any ramifications in doing that i have an ipod touch 32gb fourth gen.  if you buy an app on the ipod touch or the iphone they are saved on that device itself and when you sync it with itunes it will see the new app and add that automatically to the apps library on itunes.  Also pertaining to where the apps are stored on the pc is it stored in a folder called "mobile applications"  it is stored on your pc just serach for it. it is usually in the music folder that it where it is on my laptop . now for backing up the apps or anything that you have purchased on iTunes i would recomend a external hard drive the smallest gb size for one is 250gb  once you buy one plug it in to your pc and find the itunes and moible applications folders if you have bought any other items like music or tv episodes or movies copy them and past them to the external hard drive and do it regularly when you make more purchases on tumes plus back up the apps folder as well since apps are being updated often

  • Can't add artwork to album

I have imported many cd's recently and since installing the latest Leopard update I have had a strange issue appear in iTunes relative to artwork.
Some albums did not find artwork to download (par for the course), so I went out to Google images or Amazon and downloaded the image, or I scanned it (as a jpg).
The problem is that I cannot add the artwork to the songs. I am not a novice iTunes user and I have over 50,000 songs in my collection and this is the first time I've had this issue. I have tried the following methods to no avail:
    1. Select all the songs in the album, Get Info and drag jpg image to the little artwork box or double click the box and find the file on my hard drive.
    2. Select a single song, Get Info, click on artwork tab and drag jpg image to the little artwork box or double click the box and find the file on my hard drive.
    3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 with a single track. All 4 of these actually show the artwork, but when I click Ok to save it, it never shows up in Cover Flow or the Now Playing box. When I go back into Get Info, it's gone.
    4. Select a playing track and drag the jpg file to the Now Playing "Drag Album Artwork Here" display box.
    5. Select a playing track, copy the jpg file from a Finder window, right click in the Now Playing "Drag Album Artwork Here" and select paste (this actually does add a blank white box which I can then select and delete in the Get Info window for a single track).
All of these methods have worked for me in the past (right up until about 11/21), and now not a single method will work. Nov. 28th is the first time I tried this that it did not work. I updated Leopard to 10.5.1 right around that time. I am running iTunes 7.5 (last updated 11/8/7). My iTunes library is on an external disk (has been for two years), but again, this problem just started occurring last week. I ran a verify and it came up clean.
I could not find a single thread that described this problem (usually people just didn't know how to do it). Has anyone else experienced this?
Thanks in advance for the help.

Hallo, I fear this will not help you, but I have the same problem: Can add artwork to music but not to videos. Maybe a problem with metadata:
I import videos from a tv-recording-program (eyeTV). It works perfectly. When it finishes recording I export the film to iTunes 7.6. When it gets there it is stored under "TV Shows" and has a strange name (f.e.: "Mice hunt, slapstick comedy 1997").
So I got to the Get Info and correct the name, classify it as comedy and set it to "Movies". Clicking OK it is correctly renamed, classified and displayed under "Movies".
Then I go again to "Get Info" and want to add an artwork. I can import the artwork and it is displayed in the Cover-window of "Get info". But when I now click OK the new artwork isn´t displayed and all my information that I changed are restored: The Movie is again "Mice hunt, slapstick comedy 1997".
I have the feeling that it has something to do with the changing of Metadata for videos and with iTunes version 7.6 (in 7.5 everything worked well). So I fear, I´ll have to wait for a bug update.

  • Can't add four specific albums to library off of external hard drive

For some reason after my last sync quite a few songs on my iPod were no longer playing. It would show that they were on the iPod, but they would not play and would simply skip straight to the next song even if the iPod was paused when that song was on. I found that if I deleted the songs from my iTunes and then synced my iPod again after putting them back in the library it would solve the problem. I use an external hard drive to contain my iTunes library, and there is one folder on it that contains four music albums in their own folders, respectively. Songs from one of the albums in the previously mentioned folders were not playing, so I deleted that album. However, when I tried to put it back in my library it did not work. I've tried doing the 'Add folder to library...' and the 'add file to library...' as well as moving the folder onto my computer's hard drive, making a copy of the files, and moving the files around on the external hard drive. Any suggestions on why this is happening only to this one folder and these four albums, and if so, how to fix it? I am currently running iTunes 11.1.3.8 on Windows 8. Thank you.

I'm not certain, but perhaps this user tip would help:
Repair security permissions for iTunes for Windows.
Alternatively have you checked the drive for errors? Will the tracks play in Windows Media Player or MediaMonkey?
