Can we attach whole function group at a time to a transport request?
Hi, thank you for viewing this query.
can we attach whole function group at a time to a transport request?
please adivce.. as soon as possible.
If the function group has not been transported yet to other systems (and it's not a local object), there should be a transport already with a FUGR entry.
If not, you can manually create a transportable workbench request via SE01 and add entry R3TR FUGR <name of function group>. This will transport all the dependent subobjects that you mentioned.

Hi Experts,
I have to transport a big Function Group from one system to another. So how i can assign whole Function Group to a Transport without going each and every function module (includes and text) and attaching them to Transport.
Thanks in advance.

Function Module not being displayed in the Transport Request
Hi,
I Created a FM "RH_ACTIVATE_WFOBJECT_AFTER_IMP" in my SAP System. After I created due to problem in editing I have deleted the FM and also deleted it from the request.
I have re created the function module and if I see the object directory entry I find the following
Identical request locks
Request User Task/request Object
**** ***** R3TR FUGR RHWS
In the request I cannot find the function module but only the function group. Please help me to get my function module visible in the transport request.Hi ,
When your creating the FM for first timw with new FGRP then no need to worry .
You can see only the FGRP in the transport request number and when you move this transport request to further systems your FM automatically transport with the FGRP.
Next time when your creating a new FM under the FGRP which is already moved to production you can see only your FM name under the transport request.
When you go to FGRP main program by follwing the path
FGRP -> Disply FGRP in SE37 you can see the main program of the FGRP there if you see one include with TOP and XX .
double click on the XX Include.
there you can see allthe FM under that FGRP.
Thanks

Table Maintenance Generator - Function Group regeneration issue
I have table maintenance genertor in a function group that contains lot of tables . I by mistable regenerate the whole function group using table mainteance generator.
Now i want to check which of the programs changed during the regenerator. I am looking for some sap table that contains all the changed objects and their transport number.
Please rememebr i have still not released the transport,
I have checked E071, E071, VRSD . That contains the entry for function group and does not contains the programs inside the function group changed
Thanks
a®Thomas,
Thanks for your reply. Currently I don't want to release the transport.
Is there any table i can check which are programs changed without releasing transport

Hi All,
I created a new function group and few function modules within it. Function group is attached to one transport request. But for some reasons I want to transport it with some different transport request. So I deleted it from original request.
But now when I am trying to activate the Function Group, It is not attaching the associated function modules and includes within the function group to new transport request. It is only attaching Function group Text and Main program to transport.
Please let me know the way by which I can attach complete function group its related function modules and includes to one transport.
Thanks,
Harkamal

It is not attaching the Function group, it is attaching only "Function Group Text".

Where to set up a TYPE-POOL Declaration in a Function Group ?
Hi,
I ve got a Function Group.
I set up a Function Module in the Function Group.
I must use TABLES I_T_SELECT TYPE SBIWA_T_SELECT.
I get the error:
Type pool SBIWA has not been declared
Message no. FL031
Diagnosis
You used a type from type pool & in the interface of a function module.
Procedure
For the program to be syntactically correct, you must
declare the type pool in the global data declaration of the
function group using the 'TYPE-POOLS: &.' statement.
Where / How do I set up a Type Pool in the global data declaration of the
function group ?
Where / what is the global data Declaration of the Function Group ?
Thank You
Best Wishes
MartinHello Martin,
First off:
TABLES I_T_SELECT TYPE SBIWA_T_SELECT.
Correct me if I'm mistaken here, but tables is expecting a name of a DDIC structure. It is then creating a work area using that structure.
If you have to declare an internal table, the correct code would be:
DATA i_t_select TYPE TABLE OF sbiwa_t_select.
Or:
TABLES sbiwa_t_select.
Regarding your questions:
A global data declaration of a function group is just what it says, a point where you can declare your data usable for the whole function group.
This is usually an Include.
That said, you can fix your issue by creating an Include in your function group.
Within that include you have to write:
TYPE-POOLS: pool1, pool2, pool3.
or, in case you only have one type pool:
TYPE-POOLsbiwa
After creating the include, you have to point your function module to that file.
INCLUDE include_name.
Kind regards,

Export Function Group or Funtion Module
Dear all,
I'm new in ABAP development. I had a set of function module inside the same function group and i want to test it in another sandbox system. Since, there is no transport routing between the development and sandbox server. Is there any faster way to export the whole function group content to another system??
Regards,
KitHi Chun..
you can do One thing to achieve this :
In the Dev system :
Tcode SE37: Open the Source code of The Function Group.
Copy the Souce code of the Main program and also Each include in this Function group to Notepad files.
Note: Function modules are stored as includes in a Function group.
In the Sandbox system:
Tcode SE37: Create a function Group with the Same name.
Copy all the includes and source code in this system.
Activate them.

Hi,
I would like to know if it's possible to export a function group to a file and then restore it again from this file.
What I need is a way to store in hard disk the function groups.
thanks in advanceHi Javier,
It is not possible to Export/Download whole Function Group to a file and restore it again from that file.
However, in general we download all the Includes and Screens individually by following:
Go to Include/Screen -> Utilities -> More Utilities -> Upload/Download -> Download
To upload the same Include/Screen:
First create Include/Screen with the same name. Then follow these steps
Go to Include/Screen -> Utilities -> More Utilities -> Upload/Download -> Upload
By this way, you can again get the whole Function Group in the system. Hope it helps.

How to declare constant across a function group?
Hi,
I want to define constants for use within a whole function group. How could it be done?
Thanks,
SaidYou can maintain constansts or global variable in the 'Global Data' of function group.
Please go to the function group through SE37 transaction and select display or change. in the Popup select for mainprogram in the mainprogram you can see the a include program which will be with 'Global Data'. this is the section where you can maintain the global variables.
Ex;
include lwbabaptop. " Global Data

Problem in function group creation !!
Hi friends I have created one function module in a function group in the same transport number.....
i have activated both od them but when i am trying to view this in SE10.....i can only see the function group name
is it correct ?Hi,
Its correct, bcoz as the function modules are part of function group, so only function group will appear in the transport request.
regards,
Santosh Thorat -
Hi,
I created a new function group and assigned a function module to it. I transported the function group and function module (available in 1 request) from Dev to QA with no warnings/errors. In QA, i went to SE37, typed my FM name and tried to goto function group using the goto menu option, it says function group does not exist. It prompts for creating a function group.
In dev, when i tried to save the function group to a request, this entrry was saved in the request/task.
Function Group Texts - LIMU - FUGT - ZSLS_FGRP
I don't have any specific entry for function group in the request. Is there a way to capture function group entry in the request.
ThanksHi,
When u create a new function group and assign the function module for the first time, you can see only the function group name in Transport Request but the function module name will not get displayed.
Check the entries of object in to ensure the function group has been assigned to the request in Transport Request.
If you are creating other Function modules after first transport you can find the function modules names also in transport request.
Cheers,

How to create a new request for function group?
Hi Friends,
My client has changed their development server. Now all the objects in old DEV server are transfered to new one. Except for function group objects, we have created new change request number for all others. Now I need to create a new request for function group objects. Can anyone suggest which transaction code I have to use for this purpose?
Thanks,
Kaarthick.VHi Karthick,
If you want to Change the request for your FG means,
1. Go to SE80 -> work bench -> Edit object.
Here you have the option two change the request.
or If you want to create the Function Group means,
Go to SE80 -> Select Function Group -> Enter name -> press Enter
Thanks,

Port, Message type and Function Group
Hai,
Iam working on an inbound process for four different Partners.
Is there any need of Port for Inbound?
Shall i use the same message type and Idoc type?
And what about the function Group?
Thanks
AviHello,
<b> If the functionality is same , you can use the same function Group.
If functionality is different , you want to use different Function Group.
Obvisouly, it is suggested to use different Message types .
If you are using same fields ,you can use the same idoc type.
depends on the scenior , the process code is needed. Generally no need.</b>
Thanks
Manju
