Can we change the changes in Mavericks

I've been color coding my folders for years, now with the change in Tags all I get is a tiny dot behind the folder name - not at all helpful. This is one of the changes software engineers make for change sake, not that any change was needed. Is there any way to change this back, so the whole folder name is highlighted with the tagged color in the listing rather than just having a pale dot behind the name?

Hi  Sai,
I suggest  not  to change the PO Currency once the GR and Invoice  is Posted , As the  Reports which fetch the PO value will go wrong if we do that.
PS.  In ME22n System disables  the Currency feild once GR and Invoice Is posted.
Thanks

  • Where can I download the OS X Mavericks?

    Hi,
Now that the Yosemite is out, where can I download the OS X Mavericks?
I do not care if I have to pay for it, as long as it is legal and last updated version.
Some music production applications I use on a daily basis do not work on the Yosemite.
    Thank you

Is that a paid call to Apple support?  I mean that would be another cost on top of a "not free" OS update ...
So here are there errors i get when attempted to download Mavericks - which does show up under my purchased applications.
I am on 1085 all updates except iTunes 12.
Unable to download OS X Mavericks Error 1004 please try again later.
[retry]/ [cancel]  ----> retries fail ---> camel gets the following message below:
Unable to download OS X Mavericks:
We could not complete your request.  There was an error in the App Store.  Please try again later.  (13)
I have not tried any of my other systems yet.
Maybe Apple will help us paying customers some day or year?

  • The logic board of my macbkpro 10.6.8 (OS ML) has died. I want t migrate info to another McbkPro (OS Snow Leopard) but is asking me to update to same OS. Can I update the latter to Mavericks and migrate the info from Mountain lion? thanks

Hi i took my macbook pro to an apple store because it would not start correctly. The veredict was that the logic board was dead. As this is a very expensive item to replace, I have decided I will buy a new one but I am currently overseas, and will wait a couple of months when I get back home. This is a macbookpro 15 inch early 2011, running on Mountain Lion OS. I have another macbook pro 13inch running on snow leopard. At the store we tried to migrate the info using an ethernet cable (using the "T" command on startup) but the system asked for an update of the OS. The guy at the store told me I had to update the OS so that the two macs would be on the same OS - mountain Lion. As the newest (and free) OS is Mavericks, I wonder wheather I coud update the 13 inch mac to mavericks and perform the migration. The guy at the store was explicit to say that if the OS were different it would not work. But reading on the apple website it seems that mavericks support this kind of migration altough is not explicit about it. Can you please help?
    thanks

    Hi BobRz,
As this is a new issue for me, I believe I had the incorrect approach, maybe you can help me. What I want to do is recover a few files in my desktop, and some information i had on the iCal application and the Mail application as well.As I do not want to do a full migration into this computer (which is not mine) I believe that starting the damaged MBP in Target mode should allow me to search and cop the files I need. But:
    1. Can I open the Ical and mail apps to look for the info I need while reading it as an external HD  ?
    2. Do the target machine (my friends) still need to be updated to ML o Mavs so that it recognizes my MBP as an external drive if starting it in Target mode ? (no migration assistant)
    Thanks.

  • Can't complete the operation can't find the original item mavericks time capsule folder

Since I updated to mavericks I can't access one of the folders on my time capsule, the one that contains the time machine copy as well as other stuff, all the software that has links to that folder can access it as well as me from the terminal, but everytime that i click on it on the finder, the message "Can't complete the operation because can't find the original item" appears.
If anybody can help me out i'll be grateful.

I've found kind of a workaround, I just disconnect from the network and connect again and it'll will recognize the drive 80% of the times, you can also access it from logic or imovie and other apps.
C'mon apple guys, solve this thing, the new osx has already been out for more than a month and i've found myself copying and movig files from the terminal like we were in the eighties. I barely remember the commands!

  • How can I delete the requirement in Maverick to always enter a password?

Whenever I want to put something in the trash or move a folder around on my hard drive, Maverick (10.9.5) requires me to enter a password. I want to get rid of this bothersome requirement. How do I do that on  MacBook Pro? System Preferences doesn't appear to offer a solution. Processor 2.5e GHz Intel Core 2 duo. Memory: 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR 3.

Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on solving Trash issues. You can also try using Trash It! 5.1 to fix the problem. Or you can try this:
Open the Terminal in the Utilities folder and paste the following at the prompt:
        sudo rm -Rf ~/.Trash
Press RETURN. Enter your admin password when prompted. It will not echo to the screen. Press RETURN again.
(Should anyone tell you this is dangerous or unnecessary, please ignore the comment.)

  • I can' t open the finder running Maverick.

Just recently lost the finder. Clicking on the finder icon will not open it. Can't get to my home folder. Tried repairing disc. Also restarted. Shift-command- H doesn't work neither does F11. If I close all open APS and try to force quit the finder it doesn't allow it.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

  • How can I relink the Spaces in Mavericks?

I upgraded to Mavericks on Wednesday. I noticed that the Spaces aren't linked they way they were in Mountain Lion. I found out that to link them, all I had to do was go to Mission Control in System Preferences and uncheck the box that said "Displays have separate Spaces". The problem is that after I did that, I was unable to have two fullscreen apps on each monitor without having the same issue that was in Mountain Lion, where the Space on the other monitor becomes useless.
Is there a way to have the spaces linked, while being able to have fullscreen apps running on both monitors in a pair of Spaces?

I gave the same question. Maybe some app / binding shortcut to some applescript would do?

Files that used to be visible are now hidden in Mavericks 10.9.1. How can I change the setting to view the same files as before? I do not need the hidden files that are typically invisible.
I am having trouble locating such files as PDF's INDD, AI etc. When I view all hidden files and try to open it in the program..it looks like it is really not on the drive. Has anyone come across a solution?

You may need to rebuild permissions on your user account. To do this, boot to your Recovery partition (holding down the Command and R keys while booting) and open Terminal from the Utilities menu. In Terminal, type:  ‘resetpassword’ (without the ’s), hit return, and select the admin user. You are not going to reset your password. Click on the icon for your Macs hard drive at the top. From the drop down below it select the user account which is having issues. At the bottom of the window, you'll see an area labeled Restore Home Directory Permissions and ACLs. Click the reset button there. The process takes a few minutes. When complete, restart.

On Maverick my i cloud will not change the verification phone number even though I have change the phone number in apple and on contacts and restarted the computer. Help? I can't get the code necessary to fix the keychain without it.

You can change the phone number the verification code is sent to from a device or Mac that has your iCloud keychain enabled as follows:
In iOS 8, tap Settings > iCloud > Keychain > Advanced. In iOS 7, tap Settings > iCloud > Account > Keychain. Make sure the phone number under Verification Number is correct. If not, enter another phone number.
In OS X Mavericks v10.9, choose Apple () > System Preferences. Click iCloud, then click Account Details. Make sure the phone number under Verification number is correct. If not, enter another phone number.
If you don't have access to a device or Mac with your iCloud keychain enabled, you'll have to contact Apple support to verify your identity and get assistance making the change: http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/.

  • How do I change my short name on Yosemite OS X? I can't seem to do it the way I used to change it all the time on Mavericks.

I can't seem to do it the way I used to change it all the time on Mavericks.
There was a text box after I clicked on the lock after I went to Users and Groups in System Preferences, but now it's gone.
By short name, I mean the name that appears on your lock screen when you log in.
    P.S. I use a MacBook Air Early 2014 version, 13-inch.
I upgraded to Yosemite 2 days ago.

I found how to do it.
Go to SystemPreferences - Users&Groups - Right-click on your account at the left hand side bar- change your FULL NAME ONLY
If you change anything else the system might break but changing the full name causes no damage.
So I changed my name and am working fine with my Mac.
    Cheers!

  • How can I change the default start time of an activity in iCal (Mavericks)?

My current default time in iCal is 9.00 AM. Don't know why. In iCal on my MBP it is 10.00 AM. Can I change that to 11.00 AM? I am not an early riser...

If the program does not open the last folder you visited you most likely have the option enabled to autoload Bridge on Startup.  Either disable that option  in PS or shut Bridge down before you shut off the computer.

If you always want it to start on a specific folder you can leave it on autoload, go to folder you want it to start on then exit Bridge.  It should load this each time in future.  Many of us discourage the autoload option as it can lead to other problems as well.

  • Sign in to download from the App Store screen has the wrong Apple ID- grayed out. How can I change it?

When I have a software update notification and I go to the 'Updates" tab of the App Store and click 'update',  the flash screen 'Sign in to download from the App Store comes up the the Apple ID is wrong and grayed out so I can't change it.  Where is the bogus Apple ID stored? How can I 'ungray' it to make it editable?
I'm running Mavericks 10.9.4 on an IMAC 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5.

You installed a hacked app, originally from the Mac App Store. It contains the receipt for a different app, downloaded using an account that you don't control. You need to identify and remove the hacked app.
Important: The app you need to remove is not necessarily the one named in the App Store alert. For example, the App Store may prompt you to update "Angry Birds" or "Twitter," but the hacked app may be something else entirely. Don't make any assumptions about which app you're looking for. To find it, you must carry out a systematic search with Spotlight.
    1. Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
    kMDItemAppStoreHasReceipt=1
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
    2. In the Finder, press command-F to open a search window, or select
              File ▹ Find
from the menu bar. In the search window, select
              Search: This Mac
from the row of tokens below the toolbar. Below that is a popup menu of search criteria, initially showing Kind. From that menu, select
              Other...
A sheet will drop down. In that sheet, select
              Raw Query
as the criterion, then click OK or press return.
Now there will be a text box to the right of the menu of search criteria. That's where you enter the raw search query. Click in that box and paste the text you copied earlier by pressing command-V.
    4. The search window will now show all the App Store products that are installed. Compare those search results with the list of your purchases from the App Store. To see the complete list, you may need to unhide hidden purchases. If any apps were download from the App Store using other Apple ID accounts that you control, sign in to the store under each of those ID's and check the purchases.
At least one of the apps in the Spotlight search results is not among your purchases in the App Store. Move each such item to the Trash, after quitting it if it's running. You may be prompted for your administrator password. Empty the Trash.
Quit and relaunch the App Store. Test.
If you find these instructions confusing, ask for an alternative method.
