Can we configure company policy in ESS?

Hi All,
My client wants to update company policy in ESS (Like Company Dress Code, Office Timings etc,)
HR Log-in into ESS and post company policies. After that
This should be display for individuals who logs in ESS with their own user name and password.
This above requirement in which workset can we configure.
My idea about that........
I think company should maintain separate blog (Website).
After that create Custom URL (Iview)- Then we can call that URL (Blog/ Website).
Am I right ? or Wrong?
Else is there any other way to configure.

Hi Raj,
This can be achieved, ask your ABAP consultant to define a WD application to display PDF / Image documents and upload the respective file to repository. We can call such applications into ESS Portal and can display them.
But end users can not update the same documents whenever changes happen in Policy, there is a dependency with consultant again.

On a whim, I just tried running Firefox with "Run as Administrator".

Itunes and proxy settings. Itunes keeps the proxy setting from IE and I can't adapt it due to company policy. How can I force itunes to use firefox?

itunes can not connect to server and I can't find its proxy settings.
So I think it uses these from IE and those are blocked by company policy.
So, how can I force itunes to use the firefox settings

I fixed this issue (with help from tech support) and it involved several things.
After adding a song to iTunes, right-click on the song in iTunes and select "Update iTunes Match."
OR go to the iTunes menu-->Store-->Update iTunes Match.
Maybe that's the reason, it just hadn't updated to the cloud.
OR maybe it's not a high-enough bitrate file. This happens to me because most of my tunes are home-recorded.
Sometimes converting to .mp3 or Create AAC version might work. (You do this with a right-click in iTunes, and then you will want to remove the original file from iTunes.)
There is an iTunes Preferences setting, under General Preferences called Import Settings. Try setting it to AAC Encoder and iTunes Plus. That (I think) causes imports to be slightly better quality.

I'm Chintan from India. I have visited UK for study and brought iPhone 5 for me. I used it for about 16 days and now its started showing the problem of coverage. I mean, it shows "NO SERVICE" at the place of carrier name and tower symbol.
My query:
Do Apple have this kind of worthless service provider policy?
I have visited the local authorized service center and they are not accepting my iPhone 5 and telling me that they can not accept it for repair or service because I have brought it from UK. I have checked my iPhone 5 status on the Apple Site and it is showing full cover of Repair and Service, then why the local Apple Authorized Service Center is not accepting my iPhone 5?
Is there any kind of Apple Company policy that Apple's iPhone can only be repair or service at the place from where the iPhone have bought?

You should have read the warranty/support terms before you made your purchase. Had you, you would have found that iPhone warranty/support is only valid in the country of original purchase(except for the EU where warranty/support is EU wide). In your case, your warranty/support is only valid in the EU, as you have now found out...after your purchase. And, you are correct, they will not service the phone in India.

Well, your service is handled by an Authorized Apple Service Center. If they refuse to handle the claim, that is well within their rights. Apple as well could void a claim under the same circumstances. I'm not saying that you did or did not modify the device, but you could try and talk to a supervisor there and make another request. You can also try and contact Apple by obtaining a number with this support document and describe your problem. http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57

Configuring group policy for user profiles in Windows Server 2012 R2 Domain

Requesting some experts advise on configuring group policy for user profiles.
We will be building new Windows Server 2012 R2 Domain Controllers (Domain of 400 users).
The settings which I am concerned:
1. Folder Redirection: Desktop, Documents, Favorites.
2. Quota for Folder Redirection - 1 GB per user.
3. Map a networked drive - 1 GB per user.
4. Roaming profile - (Will ignore if it does not suit our requirement).
The question is how outlook profile will be retained / automatically moved if the users move from once computer to other?
FYI, E-mails hosted on MS Office365 and OST file size of few users more than 25GB. So, in case the user moves from one computer to other, the entire mailbox will be downloaded via internet. This consumes high bandwidth if more than 3-4 users shift per day.

This depends on where our outlook data files are stored. If these data files are stored under
drive:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local, then these files can’t be redirected, for folder redirection can’t redirect appdata local or locallow.

I Just want to have 1 backup, i.e RMAN should take the backup and delete the old bacup.

Can we configure more values for Status 2

can we configure more values associated with employment status(status 2)i.e
Value 0: Employee no longer with the company
Value 1: Employee is a part of the company but inactive
Value 2: Employee is a part of the company but retiree
Value 3: Employee is a part of the company and active
Other then these can we configure more values.

Hi,
You can add some more values to STAT2 field. Try adding more entries in T529U table.But please make sure that, the addition has to be used appropriately in your processing, as all the standard programs only use the statuses provided by SAP which were mentioned by you in your query.

In CSM map, can we configure a url not match?

Seems we can only configure the url match by "match protocol http url /a/b/*" in CSM, but wonderring if we can configure "not match protocol http url /a/b/*"? checked the docs, could not find the Regular Expression in CSM has "not match" or "!" pattern. Thx Gilles for your feedback, but I don't think this 2 policies method will work for us. The 2nd policy "match any" just likes our default serverfarm. Seems it's hard for me to describe what exactly the issue we have. Could you or some one tell me directly if there is a "not match pattern" in CSM map implementation?

Hi Sree,
The format mapping is well defined and all the fields that you require are available for use in the transaction code CRMD_MKTPL_MAP.
You also have BADI for enhancements CRM_MKTLIST_CUSTOMER
Campaign element ID is the field for entering the campaign due to which you have been able to track the lead. For example if your company has run a road show and during that you get some visiting cards from people interested in the product then they become lead in your system and the campaign is the reference from which you got them so that road show's id will be maintained in the campaign Id field

ASM and CONFIGURE RETENTION POLICY TO REDUNDANCY 1

I have a 11gR2 database in Linux. ALL the database files (including ARCHIVELOGs) are in ASM. I'm configuing and using RMAN in order to backup the DB & ArchiveLogs.
I have "CONFIGURE RETENTION POLICY TO REDUNDANCY 1" configured.
Please help me understand its meaning and function within ASM.
I thought that based on that configuation that my OBSOLETE ARCHIVELOG files within ASM would be automatically be deleted?
So once I completed my second set of backups, when I executed, "DELETE NOPROMPT OBSOLETE" & "DELETE NOPROMPT EXPIRED ARCHIVELOG ALL", that the first second of ARCHIVELOG backups would be deleted?

How to configure group policy for emet via a command line

I have been tasked with installing emet on 50 servers that I only have access to with our patching server (so I can't remote in and open the gpedit gui). I can get it to install, but now the problem that I'm facing is I need to enable 6 of the group policies
for emet. Is there a way to do this while installing it? or a way to do it after the install?

cmd line you need to deal with is in the C:\Program Files (x86)\EMET 4.1 folder
specifically emet_conf --refresh would tell the systems to pull in the settings from a GPO they have already applied.
In a non - SCCM environment I would probably recommend using group policy preferences and create a task scheduler item on your servers that runs emet_conf --import
\\fileserver\settingsfile.xml on some sort of automated basis. Then you can just configure a client like you need and run the emet_conf --export
\\fileserver\settingsfile.xml whenever you need to change a mitigation etc and the clients will pick up on the change on their next run of the task scheduler item.
In general installing on servers isn't a great idea and is not the intended use case for emet however if you are DoD/Gov then DISA has mandated it so won't argue there. There's also the people that still have Internet access from servers so then it
would make sense in that environment as well.

Localy configured security policy in domain environment

Hello.
I have run in to a problem when configuring security policy for servers in my domain. Due to the large size of my environment and many different local administrators on servers quite a few of those administrators has configured local security policys on
their servers instead of asking for our central IT-dep to create domain based GPO's for those settings.
It's quite often settings that give a account the right to logon as a batchjob and so on. This creates the problem for us that work centraly that we can't configure central GPO since we will overwrite the localy configured ones and that will quite often
create a application to stop working.
So my question is if there's any way to make a inventory to find out what servers has a local configured policy so that i can change that to a central one.

You can use secedit to get the local security policy. You can use
psexec to get it remotely and store the content in a share. Once done, you can fetch the data using Powershell and get what you need.
