Can we copy query across the landscape?

Hi All,
We have a requirement to build queries in the Development system. These queries are already built in the Production system as Test queries. Now my question is can we copy these queries from Production System to Development System instead of creating them afresh? If that is possible please let me know how it can be done.

Cells in Category rows 'exist' only when those categories are inserted using the Reorganize table. Those cells cannot be referenced from other cells.
If you want a category summed, you will need to do that in a cell that is still visible when the table is not sorted into categorie using the Reorganize pane. The function to use is SUMIF. You can find information regarding SUMIF (and SUMIFS) in the iWork Formulas and Functions User Gude. The guide may be downloaded using the link in the Help menu in Numbers '09.

If you are in thumbnail view in the Camera Roll, tap the Edit button in the upper right corner. Tap the photos that you want to add to the existing album. Tap - Add To - in the upper right corner and then tap - Existing Album.
You can only add camera roll photos to albums that you have created on the iPad. You cannot add them to albums that you synced from iTunes.

Why do I get a "ITunes can't copy music to the IPad?

ITunes stopped copying songs to my IPad 1. I'm upgraded to the most recent IOs 5 version, but when I try to copy my music from ITunes (on a Windows laptop) to my IPad it wont work. I get an error message that says "ITunes is unable to copy music to ___'s IPad because ITunes is unable to copy music to the IPad. This is a first, I've always been able to transfer my ITunes library to my IPad. I'm not just talking about music Ive copied to ITunes from CD's, it won't copy any of the songs I've purchased through ITunes.
I do have some music on my IPad from ITunes but it wont allow me to add additional music.

You can try deleting all of the music and then sync it back to the iPad.
Uncheck the Sync Music heading in iTunes and then sync the iPad to remove the music. Quit iTunes, and then connect the iPad again, launch iTunes and select the Sync Music heading again to sync the Music back to the iPad.

Hi folks, I am working on several movie clips which share the same graphics and most contents as beginning intro. Just a few sentences are different. If would be so much hassle if I had to type everything and import the images to every clips. I noticed that I can't open two projects at the same time. So I am wondering if I can group them, copy and paste them to another project? Is it doable?

Unfortunately, you have posted to the Tips & Tricks sub-forum, which is a repository for articles on how to do things in PrE & PrPro. Maybe Steve Grisetti, our tireless MOD, can move your post to the main forum, where more folk will see it, and can comment on it.
In the meantime, you are correct - one cannot have two Projects Open at the same time, and you cannot Copy/Paste between Projects, without an additional program, like the Clipboard extender, ClipMate. That is one way to get what you want.
Possibly there is another way to do what you want, without any additional programs. If you have Titles, and they will only change by a bit, you can create a "master" Title with graphics, text, Styles, etc., and then Save each as a Template, which can be used in multiple Projects, and also altered/edited in those Projects, as is needed. Everytime that I create a Title, with potential for reuse, I just do the Export as Template (the exact syntax might differ by version, but the result is the same - a PRTL Title Template file, located where you direct the program), and then those will appear in my Title "organizer" to be chosen. When one Imports one, they can be edited, as needed.
If one has an Intro, that will be reused, then one could create that, with any audio, images and Titles, and Export/Share as a DV-AVI, or similar, for later use. Note: with this method, one could not directly edit any Titles in such an Asset, as they would no longer be official Titles, and would be footage in an AV Clip. One could Cut out a Title, and replace it with a real Title, but then one would have to adjust for Transitions, if any were used. Still, I have some Intros, and Outros, that are constant, like The End Outros, and I use the Exported AV Clips there. In some cases, I leave the Intro, or Outro slightly unfinished, so that I can just add in, say a Title for each use in other Projects.

Set of Roles were deleted across the landscape.

Hi,
The set of roles were removed or deleted acorss the landscape long back and again i see the same roles in Quality system only not in any other systems.
As i verified the change documnet of the role and system is hitting the message as "No change documnet found".
Kindly provide me the solution as how it will re-buold only in quality system not in any other ssytems?

Your Quality system must have been refreshed from the system where the role already existed.
If the roles were removed from Dev -> Qual -> Prod landscape and you are now getting it in Quality again, the possible reason could be your Basis team copying it from someplace where the roles where not deleted. And it is not showing in change document because the change was not done in that system from where it was copied.
Check with the your Basis team if something was done in your quality system recently.

Can't seem to flip the landscape view when in email

When my wife uses her ipad, the email shows in portrait and landscape BUT we have a keyboard and the landscape view needs to be flipped 180....all other apps seem to do this...any ideas?

Hi Stan, thanks for the quick reply, I took your advice and did the build as an image and then burned the project at the recommended write speeds in Toast Titanium (10.0.9). The first burn was at 4x and the second was at 2x BD (an option in Toast) both speeds gave me the same result. It solved the issue with the freezing during disc playback, however, when I tried to navigate from chapter to chapter the disc, once again, freezes. Additionally, although it doesn't freeze during playback as with my previous burns, there's still slight skip at the same positions where there used to be a freeze.
I'd be content at this point with the slight skip, but it's been one issue after another with these BluRay authoring projects. This is my first project switching from FCP and I've burned 11 Bluray discs on this project and still don't have a deliverable project that I can give to my client. Not what I was expecting from Encore. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I get a .DSSTORE error saying the database can't copy/write the files.
I am annoyed. Any ideas as to how to get the files copied? I've deleted the .DSSTORE each time, but I still get the same error.

Please note, that there is a Folder called *Logic 8_Files*. THAT is the folder being copied from the DVD. Now, tell me again I didn't read the instructions.

Variable of copied Query changes the original Query - variable

I have a Query "A". Then, I made a copy "B". Both Queries are the same definition, including the variables. In the Query A, there is a variable "ZWWW" that checks the date entered by the user. In the user exit I_step = 3, we check for the validity of the date entered. Unfortunately, we need to test the Query in QAS, which we do not need to test the validity of the data. Thus, we changed the variable to be "YYYYY" on the Query B.
Unfortunately, this new variable "YYYY" somehow is reflected automatically in the original Query A. This issue is only present if the Query B is a copy of Query A. Basically, the Query A and B have different technical names and UIDs. However, they are in the background related.
The question is: how can I change the variable on Query B without affecting Query A.

Variables are at
Query Filter Level
RKF Level..which is Global
What i understand is that this Variable of Query is in the RKF - which is GLOBAL.So if we change the RKF Variable on that Multiprovider... for not just Query A... ...it will change across all the Queries not just Query A or B.
We will have to identify the RKF1 and create a copy of the RKF1 as New RKF2 and replace the old Variable with the New One YYYY.

Copying files across the network changes their permissions... Why?

Okay, I have several Macs running Leopard 10.5.5. All of my users store their working files in their Shared folders so other people who log into their Mac have access to them so they can make corrections/changes etc.
We also configure the Shared Folder to be shared under File Sharing --> Shared Folders pref pane. The permissions are set there for Everyone to have Read/Write. The problem occurs when a user connects via the network to another users' Mac Shared Folder and copies a file to their Mac. Once they copy the file the permissions change to Everyone Read Only.
My question is why and can I keep the permissions intact?

that's how it's supposed to work. a new file is created on the other computer and it acquires standard permissions for new files. this can not be changed.
what you can do is make sure they always copy those files to a particular directory and put ACLs on that directory that give everyone read+write rights to everything in it. For example, make a folder inside /Users/Shared directory. call it, say "sharedstuff".
then run the following terminal command
chmod +a "everyone allow delete,chown,list,search,add_file,\
addsubdirectory,delete_child,file_inherit,directoryinherit" \
/Users/Shared/sharedstuff
now everything you copy to that folder will be read+write by everyone even if you do this across a network.
