Can we create ether-channel

HI
Can we create ether channel in this scenario.
for eg Switch1 in the ground floor and two switches on the first floor the two switches on the first floor are cascaded and from the ground floor switch two links are going to the two switches.
Thanks
Mahmood

Hi Mahmood,
You can create an EtherChannel on a standalone switch, on a single switch in the stack, or on multiple switches in the stack (known as cross-stack EtherChannel).
See Figure 33-2 and Figure 33-3 in the below mentioned link

  • Can we create Communication Channel Dynamically at runtime

    Hi Experts
Can we create Comm Channels during run time, If yes can any one help me out how to create....?
    My requirement is
we get a file called manifest file. This file has list of file names and paths.
step 1. XI has to read manifest file
step2: from manifest file XI has to read file names and create comm channels dynamically to read these files
I am looking for option to create comm channel dynamically.
we need to determine sender dynamically.
    Advance for your Replies

    Hi,
or you can just write a script that will take the file from the path and put it in one directory for PI to fetch
this should not take longer then 15 mins to create such a creature

  • How can I creat virtual channel and traditional devices while my card installed,I can not do?

I installed PCI-6220 card, and I also installed DAQmx and Traditional DAQ in my computer,
but I cannot creat virtual channel at the last step(attachment:TDAQ6220.jpg).
Maybe this is the reason I didn't creat traditional NI-DAQ Device, but I can not creat it.
(see attachment: DAQ Device.jpg, there is no PCI-6220 on list).
    What's wrong?What shall I do?
    Junwei You

    Hello Rainer,
You can see this attachment(6024E.jpg),the 6024E card appears on Traditional NI-DAQ Devices,
but I don't know how can it be created(I don't creat it,we buy the whole system together with the machine).
I tried create a new traditional Device(I want to confirm 6024E), but still I can not see any NI-DAQ device in traditional NI-DAQ device
lists. See the 'Create New....' interface. How can do it?
    Thanks!

  • How to configure ether channel

    Hi mates,
As far as I know, when you configure ether channel (PAGP/LACP) on two ports, they act like one port. but in reality packets are not sent through both ports. Only one of the ports is used until the actual link fails.
    Question is:
I have two switches, each has two SFP ports, I want to connect two switches each other.
how can I make ether channel always use both ports when sending/transmitting packets? I remember it is possible.
    thanks for helping :)

    HI
i hope this link will help u .
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps663/products_configuration_example09186a0080094aec.shtml
when u create ether-channel it will automatically load balance based on source/destiantion mac address or source/destiantion ip address.
    Thanks

  • Ether Channel for WAN connection

We have 2 WAN connection from the ISP 2 links (155M and 300M) . We would like to perform a Etherchannel on this links.
Both the links termination are RJ45 to a Layer 3 switch. Can we configure Ether-Channel ? What is the condition for EtherChannel (eg no signalling from ISP) ?

If you're on an ethernet connection, you should be able to do etherchannel but like what the others have said, you're do not have the same speed for each, load-sharing wouldn't be optimal.
i'd rather do balancing via BGP by choosing what prefix gets advertised to a certain link, so I can at least maximize the two links. I have the same scenario before, I had 1 FastEthernet and 1 STM1 to a service provider, eBGP multihop load-share wouldn't cut it, I have to do manual prefix advertisement.
    hope that helps.

  • I can't find "DAQmx create virtual channel.vi"

How can I convert a "Channel" to a "Signal" ?

If you have installed the NI DAQmx Device Drivers, In LabVIEW, you will find this function in the location shown in the pic attached
How can I convert a "Channel" to a "Signal" ?
    You cannot!
Gramatically and Electronically, you can only 'read or write'  a signal on a 'relevant' channel

  • What is the maximum number of physical link we can bind to a ether-channel and port-channel

    Hi,
I was studying about port-channel & ether-channel and found that, it can be bind up-to 8 ports. So maximum number, we can have of 8 ports or more ?
For binding we should have minimum of 2 ports or 1 ports will work ? For load-balancing purpose, is the port no. would be in a bundle of 2,4 and 8 ?
    Thanks

    Hi Kathik,
I have gone through one document. It's saying the below mentioned things :
Jun 7, 2012 9:36 PM (in response to Sarabjit)
Re: What is the maximum number of etherchannels we can have?
The maximum number of Etherchannels varies from platform to platform. The maximum number of ports in an etherchannel is either 8 ro 16 depending on the platform. The minimum number of ports in an etherchannel bundle is 1.

Re: What is the maximum number of etherchannels we can have?
Etherchannels is a Cisco term. Other vendors call them 802.3ad trunks. It's common to see something like this in datasheets:
    48 ports 10/100/1000 Mbit/s
    802.3ad:
    Maximum of 32 groups
Maximum of 8 ports per group

1 For the 3550 series switch, when source-MAC address forwarding is used, load distribution based on the source and destination IP address is also enabled for routed IP traffic. All routed IP traffic chooses a port based on the source and destination IP address.
2 For the 6500 series switches that run Cisco IOS, MPLS layer 2 information can also be used for load balancing MPLS packets.

    Thanks Levi,
I slightly modified your script to recatalog the backup pieces since they are note stored at the same location in PR and QA.
No luck. The error message is different but the result is the same... it keeps failing.

  • How does DIADEM import TDMS files? How gets every channel his number and groupindex? How can I determine which channel has which groupindex and number?

I store different channels in a TDMS file.
I like to have a time channel at the first position with group index 1 and number 1.
When I read the TDMS file with DIADEM the time channel (Float64) is on a differernt position, and the channels are not sorted alphabetically.
    Here are my questions:
How does DIADEM import TDMS files?
How gets every channel his number and groupindex?
How can I determine which channel has which groupindex and number?
    Best regards
    Joerg

    Hi Jörg,
i suppose that you´re programme whose create the *.tdms file is writing on false position. Try to create datas with timechannel on first indes in diadem, then save it and then open it again. you see that all is correct. So please tell me what programm in what version do you use and please attache it here.
Did you use the library for creating *.tdms files like in the link ?
    http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/6471
Here you find the gtdms_8.x.zip - when you extract it and opened the *.llb you find vi´s for all functions e.g. writing 2d array of strings to *.tdms file
when you open the subvi´s then you see how created and writing datas/structure to *.tdms files. Because *.tdms is binary you can´t see structure with open it in editor.
When you don´t have Labview you can use the 30 days test of current version 8.5 under following link
    german version download link
    https://lumen.ni.com/nicif/d/lveval/content.xhtml
    english version download link
    https://lumen.ni.com/nicif/us/lveval/content.xhtml
    Hope it helps

  • Can't share my Internet connection - Can't create Wifi network

    Hi!
I'm struggling to get my Mac Mini A1176 with 10.7 to create a Wifi hotspot. When I try, either through Internet Sharing or by manually choosing create network, it says "can't connect", and fails to create the hotspot.
The only strange thing I can find, is that when I get the screen where I can choose network name, channel and security, channel is blank. I can't choose channel, the only option is the sign: -
Anyone else seen this? Doesn't the A1176 support Adhoc networks?

It's actually even easier than that....
I never had to create an adhoc network.

  • Mail V3.1 can not create a new Cablevision Optimum Online mail account

Apple Technical support asked me to report this on this forum.
I have OS X 10.5.1 with Mail 3.1. My ISP is Cablevision Optimum Online, which uses mail.optonline.net as their POP and SMTP servers.
Pre-existing mail accounts, created under 10.4.x (Tiger) work perfectly. I am unable to create a new mail account with this version of the mail program. Mail's Add Account dialog (wizard) hangs as soon as it tries to connect to the mail.optonline.com server. After a long time trying it just says it can not connect to the server. This happens if I choose the new (and default) "Automatically set up account" option or not. It happens on multiple Leopard systems. In other words, when the mail account setup wizard checks for connectivity to the mail.optonline.net POP server, it fails, even though the mail program has no problem interacting with that same server with accounts set up under a previous version.
We brought a MacBook to the Apple store, and the tech. at the genius bar could not get it to work. He said call the ISP. We did that, spent hours with the ISP tech who told me many people are complaining about this. I suspected it was a problem with the way Mail 3.1 was doing its initial connectivity check. Perhaps using an incompatible port (SSL setting perhaps).
After a good nights sleep, I figured out a work-around. I created a dummy GMail account, after it was created I modified it to have my Optonline account specifications, turned off SSL and it worked.
After I had circumvented this problem, someone else that had the same problem found a different resolution. We both also had .mac accounts defind. When they deleted their .Mac account from the mail program, they were able to create a new Optonline.net account. .Mac uses SSL.... interesting.
Thus, it seems that if you have a .Mac account with Mail 3.1 you can not create an Optonline.net account. A bug that I hope Apple fixes quickly.

iLounge had some good info on this topic. The KEY INFO in the post was that after you have gotten the account set up you need to turn off your WiFi router (if you have one) to reset it.
    http://forums.ilounge.com/showthread.php?t=221752
Here are the details on how Optonline says you set up an account:
    Name: type your name here
    Address: [email protected]
Description: whatever you want to put here
    Incoming Mail Server
    Host Name: mail.optonline.net
User Name: xxxxxxxxxx (don't add "@optonline.net" here, but put what goes before it)
    Password: your password here
    Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)
    Host Name: mail.optonline.net
User Name: xxxxxxxxxx (don't add "@optonline.net" here, but put what goes before it)
    Password: your password here
My other settings under the "Advanced" tab look like this...
    Deleted Messages
    Remove: Never
    Incoming Settings:
    Use SSL: OFF
    Authentication: Password
    Delete from Server: Never
    Server Port: 110
    Outgoing Settings:
    Use SSL: OFF
    Authentication: Password
    Delete from Server: Never
    Server Port: 587
    ===========
This person adds "Oh, one more thing... after you save your account settings, you may need to turn off WIFI, then "power off"... then "power on" turn WIFI back on and try to get mail again after it connects."
    ============
Based on the information I read here and on iLounge I was able to get Optonline email working.
    1) Deleted my Dot Mac mail accounts in Apple Mail
    2) Created an Optonline account based on the details above from Optonline in Apple Mail
    3) Unplugged my Airport Extreme Base Station, waited 20 seconds, plugged it back in.
    4) I was then able to receive mail but not send on the Optonline SMTP server
    5) So...I then went back and checked the details on the Optonline account in Apple Mail. Not sure why but the SSL/authentication selections were changed. So I set them correctly based on the information above and saved. That worked and I was able to send email.
As you are having trouble with Apple Mail and Optonline (why else would you be reading this?) let me also mention that Optonline blocks Port 25 for outbound email so if you have non-Optimum Online email accounts and want to send email on that ISP's server you will not be able to do that unless (a) you pay Cablevision more for a business or boost account (b) use webmail (c) your ISP is willing to provide you with an alternative email port other than 25.
Here is the page from their site on this topic
    ort 25 and Optimum Online
    Answer
All e-mail sent via the Internet is routed through Port 25, the channel used for communication between an e-mail client and an e-mail server. Activation of Port 25 is currently available with Optimum Online® Boost or Optimum Online for Business. Please continue reading for more information, including activation instructions.
    Port 25 Filtering/Blocking
To help control the amount of spam that originates from the Optimum Online network, Optimum Online filters outbound Port 25 e-mail (SMTP) traffic for all standard Optimum Online customers. This filtering is a common spam control measure used by Internet Service Providers. It not only prevents spam sent intentionally, but also thwarts computer viruses that let spammers connect to an unsuspecting customer's infected computer and send spam.
This filtering is transparent to the vast majority of our users. However, if you access a non-Optimum Online e-mail service with an e-mail client application (like Outlook Express), or run your own mail server, you may not be able to send and/or receive e-mail.
    Port 25 Availability
If you require Port 25 to be active, Optimum Online offers these options:

  • Can I create a BI Beans compliant cube using OWB?

Can I create a cube that I can browse using BI beans through OWB 9.0.4 or are there additional steps that I need to take using other tools such as Enterprise manager?
Are there any known incompatibilities between OWB 9.0.4 and BI beans 9.03.1.?
I will also pose this question in the BI Beans forum.
    Thanks for any replies.

    Hi,
I am trying to build an Analytic workspace using OWB (9.0.4.8) Transfer Brigde and I got the similar error.
None of the view/mv sqls are generated and the analytic workspace was not created either.
    FYI.

  • Why do we get so many vi's when using "DAQmx Create Virtual Channel.vi"?

    Hi there,
Could anyone explain me why we get hundreds of sub-vi's when I use the
vi "DAQmx Create Virtual Channel"? This can easily be seen by exploring
the hierarchy of Labview examples such as "Acq&Graph Voltage - Ext
    Clk.vi"???
This multitude of vi's considerably slows down my computer, especially at loading. Is there any way to get rid off that???
Thanks in advance for you help!
    Jonas

    Hi,
the easier you have to program, more subVI´s needed for your kind of application. Because the VI´s from DAQmx are polymorph, so many SubVI´s are included in the VI´s. In traditional DAQ you have several palettes for each kind of measuement method. Analog In, Analog Out, Digital, Counter, ...! In DAQmx you have one VI and that can all.
But, the performance of you application at runtime is not affected. Of course it takes some time to load, but just at development environment not as an application.
Figure 3. Polymorphic VIs simplify the NI-DAQmx API.
