Can we expect iPad-issues adressed?
Hi everybody
First post here. I must admit that I never cared too much about Apple - until I got the iPad 2 a year ago, which is by far
the best piece of electronics I have ever had.
Loving it so much there was no doubt I would love the new Ipad even more, so I got one
on the first day it was released in Denmark (march 23.). For me the heat and recharge-issues
were showstoppers, and I ended up returning it.
I really wanted to love it but it was uncomfortable to hold, and being a poweruser I got vert frustrated waiting for recharging.
Heres the question: Can we expect Apple to adress these issues in the near future?
If fixed, then I'm right back at the Apple-store.
Can anyone share some insight to the possibility of problem-fixing - or is it just the price for owning cutting-edge technology?

Vast majority of complaints are from people comparing the iPad 3 with the iPad 2, not thinking about the increased power usage of the device and increased battery capacity.
People are expecting the iPad 3 to operate exactly like the iPad 2 despite it having a quad-core graphics chip and 4 times the resolution screen. Simple logic should tell people that such a screen and graphics power uses more power, therefore operates slightly hotter, and requires a larger capacity battery that takes longer to charge. Unfortunately, most people don't think logically before running off to complain.

You need to have a copy of Snow Leopard installed to access Lion in the Mac App Store. There's no direct path to upgrade from Leopard to Lion.

My IPad 2 external speaker does not work and the original headphones have popping sound when used. This all occurred at the same time as my IPhone and IPod headphones only plays mono (and no, the "mono" option is not on) with the original headphones, as well as, other headphones tested. How can there be audio issue for all these devices at the same time?
As you may have noted from the list of Apple devices I own, I believed in the Apple and the products it was producing; but it is hard to believe from my experience and the other voices within the Apple Community that we are all experiencing the same hardware issues. Especially since I recently, I upgraded to an IPhone 4g (no, my faith in IPhone 5 series is very little) and is experiencing the same audio problem as described above. So now, I am off to the Apple store again to be told that it’s a hardware problem on new IPhone. Really? Apple, what happen to the pride in the product you were producing?Everyone does things a little differently. I love to "jam " along with iTunes ( or old Lp's) . Always have. That's where/how I've learned to play .
I'm sure leonieDF is giving a proper way to jam along on a keyboard with an iTune. He blows my mind all the time with what he knows. Nuff respects to him !
What I do is make a GB project I call "Jam With". I'll make several new tracks that are blank. Just has a few instruments named in the blank tracks. You can change those per song ...
Because I'm not concerned about changing the pitch / key.... of the iTune or the tempo ... I can simply play along with it.

Another way besides tapping the text box is to tap the screen to bring the keyboard up, tap the .?123 key, then tap the undo key to bring the erased dictation back.

I was updating my ipad2 to iOS.5 version, and somehow the iPad turned of and the update was not finished. When i turned on the iPad the computer nor iTunes could recognize the iPad. I have windows xp. How can I solve this issue?
Try throwing it into recovery mode and starting over.

y iPad2 is frozen, I am trying to download the upgrade software but fails after a while, how can I solve the issue. I have not upgraded the iPad 2 since I bought it.
Try and force iPad into Recovery Mode:
1. Turn off iPad
2. Connect USB cable to computer; leave the other end alone
3. Press and hold the Home button down and connect the docking end of cable to iPad
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect To iTune" screen
5. Release the Home button
6. Open iTune
7. You should see "iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode"
8. Use iTune to restore iPad
Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad -
Only a small portion of my photos in Photo Stream on my iPhone go to the cloud then to my iPad. I only have 150 pictuures so it can be a capacity issue?? Any advice ?
OK, so it's working the way it is supposed to. With any device that is retrieving photo stream photos from the cloud, it will only retrieve back to the time that photo stream was turned on for that device.
Now that you have it turned on, any photos you take will show up in photo stream for either device from now on.

When can we expect a fix for the Windows 8.1 hotplug issue with a Thunderbolt device. I got a dock to easy my up-and-go time when moving from using my laptop on the desk vs in meetings. Instead my computer crashes and I have to reboot.
I am seeing this issue with the 2012 Macbook pro Retina running Bootcamp with Windows 8.1 x64 bit with the F4U055 Dock from BelkinI can confirm that hotplug does work properly on Windows 8.1 with Asus Thunderbolt ExII (Thunderbolt 2)
But does not work with Windows 8.1 and MacBook Pro Retina (Thunderbolt 1)
To get hot plug working with the Asus Thunderbolt ExII, you install the intel thunderbolt drivers, and then you get an interface where you can eject devices, and do things like setup more detailed security. However, this doesn't have any effect with the MacBook Pro. I suspect that either:
1) Apple's Thunderbolt hardware doesn't support hotplugging on windows
2) Hotplugging on Windows requires Thunderbolt 2
So, I should check on my Mac Pro (dustbin edition) to see if it works there with Thunderbolt II
Be great to hear if anybody has any success with this on an Apple device! -
W540 - USB Charging iPad Issue
I have recently purchased a W540 and a Thinkpad Ultra Dock 135W. Is there a reason why none of the USB ports on either the laptop or dock can charge an iPad 2? I have tried them all and only get the message "Not Charging" on the iPad. I believe it is a power output issue but have no idea why and would have expected at least one USB port to be able to charge? I have the dock connected to permanent 240V power as well?? Help!!!
The USB standard only allows a certain amount of power. Some manufacturers choose to ignore this upper limit and allow higher currents.
There is however a workaround to it with an unofficial tool from Gigabyte:

This was reported to work a while back, but I've never tried it myself. It may or may not still work on Haswell machines.

After I upgraded to iOS 7.0.2 I can't sync iPad mini with PC (on Windows XP). I keep getting the folowing message: "The iPad could not be synced because this computer is no longer authorized for purchase items on this iPad". I tried everything:
1) De-authorizing and rebooting (about 100 times);
2) De-installing and reinstalling itunes;
3) Deactivating the firewall;
4) Run Diagnostics (result - all works fine including sync);
5) Tried to look for the "SC info" directory or file everyone is referring to in the Computer (Hidden files) of the iTunes directory - nothing;
6) Ticking and unticking the |Sync over Wi-Fi" option;
7) Changing backup from iCloud to this Computer and back.
I am using the admin account on my PC - doesn't help.
I cannot sync anything at all.
BTW - on the PC and on the iPad - everything that is there plays OK. I can get stuff from iStore both from iPad and from the PC - but I can't sync the two.
It looks like an iOS 7 bug to me - any ideas or advice?

D.No I have tried multiple connections, at home, at work, and even at my church but to no avail. For example I have recently purchased a CD from Itunes using my computer, but my ipad will only play it from the cloud. I've tried to download straight from my Ipad and that too does not work. When ever I try to plug the Ipad into the computer a window pops up and says that the sync has failed. If I try to drag the file to the Ipad it will say it's loading than just quit before it transfers. hmmm. I hope they get this bug fixed some. would really like to have that CD to isten to on the go. Another issue I am no having is the apps are having trouble updating. I have tried to turn off auto update and do it manually and that too is failing.

HT201253 I cannot sync my 5S with ITunes. I can sync my iPad with same cord and computer
I recently sent my 5S through the washing machine and got a replacement 5S. I am running Windows 7. I was able to "restore" it from iTunes without any issues other than I hadn't back up in a month. Now when I try to sync with iTunes it gets to step 5 of 5 and I get a "windows message that iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to shut down". I can sync my iPad using the same cord, computer, and program with no issues. I went through Apple support and uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes under their guidance. I was then transferred to another level of tech support and got cut off. I have not heard back and have tried to reopen the case without success so I am hoping someone has a way to resolve this issue so I can back up my phone. Thanks

The store didn't have them in stock? The local store here has at least 5 of each type on hand. The web site doesn't show a shipping delay, so if they didn't have it in stock you should have gotten it in within no more than 2 days. I'd contact the store back and find out the status (and if they had it in stock why didn't they give you one). -
What can I change to gain access to my work vpn. I can access with my MacBook Air and other routers. Can use my ipad and this time capsule to successfully access the VPN.
You need to give us a lot more info.
I presume the MBA and the TC are the combo that doesn't work, although you don't clearly state that.
If the ipad and TC work.. are you sure the ipad is connected via the TC and not 3G network?
If it is then the TC itself is fine and the issue might be setup on the MBA.. although if the MBA works with other routers.. that rather confuses the matter.
You need to actually tell us how the TC is setup in the network. What kind of broadband modem you have and what kind of vpn you are using. -
Can't view IPad photo's in windows explorer window
I can sync my iPad to my window 7 computer using iTunes software, however in My Computer; I can not see my iPad, nor am I able to drill down to my photo folder on the iPad to import only selected photo's to my computers hard drive. Is this a rights issue, software bug or Microsoft/Apple still fighting?
Currently, for the past hour it has been "Preparing to Import.." after I chose to import directly from the external hard drive.
Never import one Library to another. Every version and thumbnail is imported like a distinct photo, you lose all your Albums, Keywords etc., the link between Original and Previews is destroyed, the non-destructive editing feature is ruined and so on. In summary: it's mess.
It sounds like the library on the external is damaged. Restore from back up is the simplest solution.

I put a Favicon on my website, which can be seen in the adress line and the tab header. However, when I add this site to the bookmarks, it doesn't show it's favicon. I have tried deleting and creating a bookmark and also refreshing the webpage or clicking on the bookmark. I don't know what else to do. I use Firefox 4.0.1
I'm getting favicons for most of my bookmarks, so there might be some issue with the coding or the image format.
