Can we get Adobe InDesign CS6 and use CS5?

Hi There,
We currently have 4 license of InDesign CS5 that comes with Adobe Creative Suite CS5.
Also an Adobe Product Premium CS5.5. We now need to get an extra license for InDesign CS5 for the Adobe Product Premium CS5.5 machine.
I noticed Adobe now sells CS6 versions only. Can we get Adobe InDesign Cs6 and have down grade right to use InDesign CS5?

Only free or purchased apps from the iTunes store can be used on Apple's iDevices. Will iPhoto do what you want? There are other photo editing apps in the iTunes store.

Where can I download Adobe InDesign CS6?

Hi,
I have a company licence for Adobe InDesign CS6 and want to install the software on a users new laptop.
However all I can find is InDesign CC.
When I go through the nonsense of CC to install InDesign it tells me the serial number we have is invalid for InDesign CC
If InDesign CC replaced InDesign CS6 then why wont it accept the serial number?

It didn't replace it, it's the newest version and cannot be activated
with a serial number as it's available by subscription only.

How do I get Adobe InDesign CS6 to export non-pixelated PNGs?

I am having trouble exporting PNGs from Adobe Indesign. The problem is they become very pixelated once they have been exported to PNG. However, when I export to JPEG, there is no pixelation, they look perfect! Has anyone else had this problem?
I need to export them as PNGs because some pages have transparency effects, which JPEG doesn't support.
Is this a bug in Adobe InDesign CS6? Is it a configuration option that I can change?
Below I have provided sample screenshots of the JPEG and PNG files, along with the export settings I used.

Adobe Indesign CS6 not finding fonts

Dear Support,
Adobe Indesign is not detecting the font arial narrow bold, narrow italic, please can you inform what to do.
I have reinstalled the font in the windows\fonts folder restarted and still experience issues.
I have reinstalled adobe indesign cs6 and still no luck.

Not true. At the very same place as the InDesign document is saved should be a folder with the name "Document fonts" and in this folder you have to put all fonts.
You should also take care if the font family include a font with these styles and is compatible to your OS. Best practice is to use OTF fonts.

Adobe Indesign CS6 Fonts issue

Dear Support,
We have performed a re-installation of Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.
We also had to re-install Microsoft Office Home and Business 2010 as well as Adobe Indesign CS6 and Photoshop CS6.
We have installed all Windows Updates and all Adobe updates.
The problem we are experiencing is that Arial Narrow is detected by Indesign as a seperate font and not a family font.
This in turn is causing issues as we cannot select Arial Narrow Bold, Arial Narrow Bold Italic and Arial Narrow Italic.
The version of the font is 2.37.
I have read on previous posts that there are issues with font version 2.35 which is installed with Microsoft Office 2007 and there is a hotfix on Microsoft's website.
We cannot use this as stated above we use Microsoft Office Home and Business 2010.
Please inform if there is a hotfix to run from Adobe's Website or from Microsoft to resolve the above issue.
All assistance is much appreciated.

Adobe InDesign CS6 serial number invalid

I am installing Adobe InDesign CS6 and I am getting a serial number invald message for number - <Removed by Moderator>. This is for order 14558604 purchased from Insight our third party software provider.

Why doesn’t Adobe have a protected site for this type of support. How am I supposed to know that this is a public forum. Adobe needs to provide a better support system. I am just trying to get the software running for my users.

Can a user of InDesign CS6 and a user of InDesign CC share files without having to save as idml?

The CC user has access to CS6 as part of the subscription and should be using that to share files with someone who only has CS6.

ID Install - Can't open the application Adobe InDesign CS6 because it may be damaged or incomplete.

Trying to install inDesign CS6 on my imac. But everytime I try at end of install I either get a problem with install error, or if it does show up in my applications folder, it has a "no" sign and when clicked I get:
"You can't open the application Adobe InDesign CS6 because it may be damaged or incomplete."
Need help, Im a freelance desktop publisher and need this to work!

After I deleted Adobe File Manager because it was always popping up annoyingly, I got a similar "damaged application - reinstall" message. However, InDesign didn't seem to be affected. Nevertheless, I reinstalled AFM, and fixed the problem, except for the annoying appearances of AFM.
If it's not present on your system, you can search Google for "download adobe application manager mac" without quotes, to download and install it.

Adobe InDesign CS6 (8.0) Asset.placeAsset(document) getting undefined

UPDATE:
I commented out the addpage line and the script ran without any issues. So the error seems to come about when adding a page and then adding the library asset to it. So the question seems to lie in , "how to add a library asset on a new page?" The code below seemed to work with CS2.
Hi - We wrote .jsx scripts for the CS2 version of InDesign. We now have InDesign CS6. When we run the scripts we get the following error:
The basic function of the script is to import an xml file, select a library, get a specific asset from the library and then adds it to the document.
This is the section of code in the .jsx file that is generating the error; line 204 is generating the error
I've checked both theTemplate and myDocument objects at the time of execution and they are both valid objects.
I have no idea why it would throw an undefined is not an object error message? I've scoured the internet and I am unable to find anything related to this matter and the guy who wrote the scripts has left the the company. Any help in the right direction is greatly appreciated.
Also, this question was already asked in the Indesign forum, and they suggested I should ask this question here after no solution was found.

Hi, I have Adobe Indesign CS6(8.0) Windows 7. Where can I see the Paragraph and Character directions? I followed tutorials on the net but I can't find the paragraph and character directions. It's not like it's grayed, but the 2 options weren't there. Thanks!

Best equation tool to use in Adobe Indesign CS6

Hi,
Can anyone tell me which is the best built in equation tool to use for Adobe Indesign CS6?
I would like to be able to create the equation within my document and NOT save the equation as a file and then paste the equation into the document. The equation tool will also need to be able to create complex equations.

I ran a test with ProRes 24, 25 & 29fps as well as the Red footage in the same timeline. I exported from a 1080 sequence created by a prores422 24fps clip (by using the new item button as suggested). I exported with the following settings...
H.264
HD 1080p 23.976
1920x1080
progressive
sq pixels 1.0
Main
Level: 4.2
Render at Max depth
Bitrate encoding: VBR 2Pass
Target BR: 20 Mbps
Max BR: 50 Mbps
And from what I can tell it all looks pretty darn good. I can see slight differences in 24 and 25. And certainly with the 29 and red footage. But it was never all mean to match seamlessly, as different sequences in the film have different looks. It just shouldn't look like a hot mess. I'm not positive yet, as I need to run more tests as footage comes in. but this may have done the trick. I'll keep updating... thanks !
