Can u have multiple Ipods on one Computer?
I have a iPod and would like to get my husband one but I want to make sure that we can have two ipods connected to the same computer. We use the same computer at home. I have my ipod dock connected now, would I need to add a dock for his or can he use mine? Do I have to change any settings to allow more then one ipod to use the same library?
Thanks

Can you have two ipods on one computer?
Ok I have a mac computer and an ipod nano and everything works great, but my mom is now getting an ipod nano. Is there a way to have two ipods on my computer, where each ipod has it's own library and account so we don't have to share all of our music?
There are actually a few methods for using more than one iPod on a single computer: How To Use Multiple iPods with One Computer
Just to summarise what's in the link above which is a little out of date:
Method one is to have individual Mac or Windows user accounts which by definition would give you completely separate iTunes Music folders and libraries.
Method two is to set your preferences so that any or all of iPods get updated with only certain playlists within one library:
Loading songs onto iPod automatically - Mac
Choosing the update option "Sync Music - Selected playlists" allows you to create a playlist specifically for each iPod and drag the tracks you want into it. If you tire of the list and want to change it, you just add or remove the songs you don't want. The ones you take out out remain in the library to be used by the other iPod. You can read more about playlists at these links:

Another option when using a single library is to set any or all of the iPods to manual update: Managing content manually on iPod -
Can you have two iPods for one computer?
I know nothing about iPods so please excuse me for this question that probably has an obvious answer. My sister has an iPod nano that she has been using with our computer for a long time. I just bought an iPod and was trying to set it up. So can I use her i tunes to put music on my ipod or how does it work? I am aware you are not supposed to steal music though. So what am I supposed to do?
Yes, you can use 2 iPod with 1 computer quite easily.

I have 3 i phones. Can I have multiple accounts on one computer where it keeps the contacta and calendar for each?
My daughter and I both have iphones. I created an account (not separate itunes) for her on my computer so she could sync her phone/itunes but not have it interfere with mine since we have WAY different taste in music. Creating a different computer profile should work if you have separate itunes accounts, too.
If you all use the same itunes account, you can turn on Home Sharing. That way you can all download the same content without having to pay for it again. Not sure how or if that works with separate itunes accounts.
Hope that helps! -
Can i Have two phones on one computer
Hey everyone,
Can I have two iphones on one computer. I've heard i cant. Anyone know anything about this.
Thanks yallYes. iTunes treats each device as a separate unit, and you can have different preferences for each.

I was wondering if it is possible to use 2 Ipods on one computer without having to reload all of the music to the new library.
If you are adding a second iPod for your own use, just connect the new iPod to your computer and follow the on screen instructions. It will update from your existing library. Depending on the size of your library and the type of iPod you choose you can have it update all songs and playlists, selected playlists only or you can manage it manually

Can I use 2 iPods in one computer?
I have an iPod Nano and my brother has an iPod Mini. We only have one computer in the house. Can we plug and use both iPods in one computer without affecting the contents of each of our iPods? Because it might delete my songs when he plugs in his iPod and vice versa.
There are a couple of methods for using more than one iPod on a single computer. Method one is to have two Mac or Windows user accounts which by definition would give you two completely separate libraries. Method two is to set your preferences so that either one or both iPods get updated with only certain playlists within one library. Method two, "automatically update selected playlists only" would allow you to create a playlist specifically for each iPod and drag the tracks you want into it. If you tire of the list and want to change it, you just add or remove the songs you don't want. The ones you take out out remain in the library to be used by the other iPod. Make your playlist a Smart playlist and limit the size to just below the advertised capacity of your iPod Mini or Nano (around 3700MB for a 4GB or 1800MB for a 2GB). A third option is to set one or both iPods to "manually manage songs and playlists" and drag whatever you like to them. -
Can I have two Ipods on 1 computer
Hi
I am buying a new 5g Ipod and will be giving my old 5g ipod to my partner. As a windows user can we both have Itunes on the same PC. Also, we have similar taste in music. Can I transfer some of my music/videos to his Ipod, whilst maintaining seperate Itunes accounts. Finally, when I receive my new Ipod will I have to restore the old one so that he can create a new account on it? Thanks for helping.

"when I receive my new Ipod will I have to restore the old one so that he can create a new account on it?"
No. You can restore it if you want to (to erase whatever's on it), but it isn't necessary. You don't create "accounts" on an iPod, your partner can go ahead and use the iPod as is. -
Can i hav 2 ipods on 1 computer?
i hav an ipod (1st gen) and used it on our computer and evrythings kwl, bt my mum got an ipod 4 her bday can(2nd gen) can she hav hers on the same computer? she pluggd hers in nd uploaded itunes 7 and all of my music is now on her ipod is ther anyway she can hav like a seperate bit? cheers
There are a couple of methods for using more than one iPod on a single computer. Method one is to have two Mac or Windows user accounts which by definition would give you two completely separate libraries. Your Mum's iPod was at the default setting of automatic update which is why she got all your songs when she connected to your iTunes. If you set up a separate Windows account then she can have her own iTunes library and auto-update from it if that's the option she chooses.
Method two is to set your preferences so that either one or both iPods get updated with only certain playlists within one library. Have a look at this article and see what you think and go for whichever you feel suits your needs best: How To Use Multiple iPods with One Computer

Can you have 2 iPods on 1 computer?
I've had an iPod mini for almost 2 years and I'm out of room so I want to buy the 5th generation iPod but I don't know anything about hooking it up. I already have my mini's library and everything set up on my computer and someone told me I have to set my new one up on a separate computer. Is this true? Anything you can tell me about how to set up my new one would be greatly appreciated! Thank you =]
you can have two libraries on one computer.. bottom line, you dont need another computer if you want to own two different ipods.
