Hi all,
I am trying to create a view selector in the dashboard prompt, but I am not getting how to create a view selector .
I need to create filters as below.
region:- dropdown list(is prompted) LOB:-dropdown list(is prompted) Operatingunit:- dropdown list(is prompted) Division/Country:-dropdown list(is prompted)
Practice:-dropdown list(is prompted) Office:- dropdown list(is prompted) Team:-dropdown list(is prompted)
Viewselection*
radiobutton Operating unit
radiobutton Region
Radiobutton Division/Country
radiobutton Office
radiobutton Team
radiobutton LOB

APPLY RESET(these are two buttons)
Can any one please suggest me what to do, and how to achieve this.

I am not getting how to achieve this filter , can you please suggest me ,How to get it, And also I am trying to plot the pie graph for the data present in the report, but I am unable to display the data in pie graph. Can you please suggest me why this is happening, I played around it almost 3-4hrs, still I am unable to get it. Can you please tell me your suggestions.

When I posed a question on a forum, it indicates that I have one (1) view. How can I have multiple views on the same question?

I believe the number you are looking at is the number of times a particular thread has been looked at (viewed) by different users. When someone else opens your question, the view count should increase.

ITunes 9: Can I have different views for different libraries?

In iTunes 8 I was able to have different views for viewing different libraries. For example, I had my music library in Grid view and my podcast library in list view. When I change between the two libraries in iTunes 9 the view does not automatically change. It stays how the previous library was viewed. Is there a setting I am missing to allow me to keep a grid view for music and a list view for podcasts? Thank you.

Thats really odd. I've used iTunes 9 on two different systems and both act like iTunes 8 did as far as maintaining library specific view settings.
Is this also happening with playlists?

Issue filtering a report (based on narrative view) with a dashboard prompt.

I used HTML and java-script codes in narrative view to solve the issue of "linking different reports on selecting values from a drop-down". A new issue has cropped up due to that implementation. The issue is that i can't attach a dashboard prompt to such a report. This means, when i put this report on a dashboard page with a dashboard prompt to help filter the report, the report does not gets filtered (it does not seems to be connected to the dashboard prompt).
Has anyone faced this issue before? If yes, please let me know how to tackle it at the earliest.

sorry , i could not solve the problem. the below case statement i put in the formula of a date column but i got some syntax error.One more thing is case statement is appearing in the select query not in where condition. Do u mean to say if i will put the same column as is prompted then it will come in where condition.

OS 10.9.3-CAN WE HAVE "DESKTOP" WIDGETS-NOT ON DASHBOARD?

I've had a Local WeatherBug widget for several yrs. I simply moved my cursor to the lower right corner
and it appeared giving me local weather information. I moved my cursor again and it was gone.
I loved it!! Now, after some repairs necessitating a clean system install and, thus, upgrading to
OS 10.9.3, I've been trying to get it back.......but no such luck.
It seems the only way I can get any weather widget is by putting it on my Dashboard. . . but…
I DON'T NEED OR USE THE DASHBOARD. The Dashboard, for me, is just adding another step.
The few apps I suppose I could use are duplicates. I have Apple's OS apps on my DOCK because I
use them ALL THE TIME. ex: Calendar, Calculator & Dictionary. They're right there!
I don't have to open one thing to get to another....... they're always visible.   The Dashboard only
complicates things and adds another step instead of the app just opening up.
I've been to WeatherBug and it's all very confusing. I downloaded one app that turned-out to be
for Windows only. OK >> trash!
Then I downloaded another for Macs. It put a "Bug" only on my desktop and kept saying the app.
was open-- I couldn't even trash it because "it was open". I ended up shutting down and then
restarting to close the darn thing so I was then able to >>>> trash.
Then I tried the one Apple offers for WeatherBug...but that's for the Dashboard.
No option that I know of, or could find anyway, to put it anywhere else— or once there, to move
anywhere else.
IS THERE SOME WAY, AFTER A WIDGET IS DOWNLOADED TO THE DASHBOARD, WHERE IT CAN BE
MOVED OUT OF THE DASHBOARD AND ONTO THE DESKTOP?
If so, would someone please tell me -- step by step-- how to do this. On the Dashboard, it's worthless
to me. I might as well just click on my favorites bookmark bar for the TV stations weather report.
We all use our Apple products differently. I only have my Mac because that's all I need. I suppose
many of these new applications are for syncing with other Apple products and for people who do many
more things on their products than I do. But...... WHERE ARE THE OPTIONS TO KEEP IT SIMPLE??
Having to open one app to get to another one is NOT SIMPLE!! It's not the “Apple way” but then many
new things aren't the “Apple way” = intuitive, simple-- easy.

From your description, I think you simply have been using Dashboard all along. Open System Preferences -> Mission Control and click on 'Hot Corners'. Click on the lower right menu and select Dashboard.
If Dashboard doesn't show up as a transparent layer for you, also in Mission Control preferences deselect the option 'Show Dashboard as a Space',

How Both View Selector and Column Selector in one report dashboard section

Can we use a view selector and column selector inside a report in one section of the dashboard?

Can we use a view selector and column selector inside a report in one section of the dashboard?Here view selector is nothing but having multiple views and selecting depends on what end user want to see.You are saying in a single report in once section only.
If it is a single report you can go with using a column selector.
Note:-View selector and column selector combination can be used.....but it looks wierd as you need to select view at the same time the corresponding column.

Yes you can have it by creating different compound layouts with pivots in it.

Programmatically created calendar view does not appear on view selector menu

My problem is that even though the view is created, it does not appear in the View links just above my list. It only appears in the drop down menu of views in the ribbon. On the contrary, if I create the view using the browser user interface (not programmatically),
the view appears in both places.
Do you have any idea why this might be happening?

Hi papadi,
I can reproduce the issue that creating calendar view using programming method, the view isn’t shown in view selector menu, and this only happens to calendar view, html view or other views are shown in the menu.
After editing the web part, disable the selector menu, then re-enable the selector menu again, I can see the calendar view shown in the view selector menu, create a new calendar view using programming, the calendar view shows as expected.
This seems indicate there is some issue in the view selector menu display, I would suggest you to first disable the view selector menu through edit the web part properties, then create the calendar view.

View Selector

Hi Friends,
I've a report which is having column selector,in column selector i'm using 2 columns. Market and Product.
When i select Market /Product column selector will display with 5 columns in my report. But when i want to select product from column selector i have to dispaly only 3 columns in my report where as in my market i want to display 5 columns.
This requirement can be archived by View Selector got it from Kishore, . Can any one help me out on this,

go to pivot table, keep all necessary columns: Market and other 5 columns and exclude remaining columns...
Now, go to another, i.e. Pivot:2, here put Product and other 3 columns .
Now you go to View Selector ... Add Pivot 1, pivot 2 from selection pane to right pane..
Rename each view to Market, Product respectively..
add only view selector to compound layout.

Need an alternative for view selector of view selector

I have requirement where Prompt1(Variable prompt) has 7 values and prompt2(Variable Prompt) has 2 values.
Coming to report.I have to give user feasibility for Time dimension to toggle between X-Axis & Y-Axis of pivot table. so for this to work i have used View Selector.
When Time on X-axis: there will be 1 dimension in y-axis of pivot table with time dim as columns.
when Time on Y-axis: there will be time with breakup of 1st dimension in Y-axis of pivot & measures with breakup of 2nd dimension on X-Axis of pivot.
If view selector of view selector is possible.then i can have prompt2 as a view selector in the report itself. but i found view selector of view selector is not possible.
I felt to combine prompt1 & prompt2 and have single prompt with 14 combinations and these 14 combinations gives 14 different pivot table views.But I want to have prompt1 & prompt2 separate..
Please suggest..how can i proceed further..!!!

If you hold on a couple of days, it might be possible that some in between budget and high end devices from Nokia will pop up.
I am btw going from a Lumia 620 now to a Lumia 1020. And I'm now paying just a tad more than I paid for my Lumia 620 a year ago. Keep an eye on offers etc.
But of course, the Lumia 1020 offers last gen of cpu etc.
Like mentioned, wait a few days and see. Might be coming a phone with decent specs and okey price, though likely to be a bit more pricy than your 620

Creating dashboard prompts at run time.

We have a requirement of creating dashboard prompts at runtime. Our scenario is as follows:
We would like to create trend charts with multiple trend lines. We are planning to use the Line Graph view to achieve this. However, the number of trend lines and the columns of a table to be used as trend lines will be input at run time. As an example, users will be prompted to enter the number of trend lines they wish to plot in the chart. Depending on the input, we need to dynamically create those number of prompts. The prompts will be a choice list of columns that can be used as trend lines. For the following table structure:
table: table1
column1: quantity
column2: quantity_accepted
column3: quantity_rejected
the dashboard prompt 'Select number of Trend Lines' will ask users for a number. Let's say the user enters 2. We need to dynamically create 2 prompts based on column1, column2 and column3.
Is there a way of implementing this requirement?

I think you need to look at the JAXB capabilities
Try using JAXB & JSTL to dynamically build your faces-config.xml
For Runtime Java bean Classes
IF you have an XML schema/DTD you can use JAXB to generate Java Bean Source code
Obviously you are going to have to build into your application the ability to invoke the JAXB & Java Compilers

Dashboard prompt in Obiee 11g

Hi,
I have a requirement to hide dashboard prompt, and display it only if the previous prompt has a user input. For example, first I need to display a prompt for Country, if the user selects a value, the show a prompt for State, and if a user selects a value for this then show the prompt for city. I need to implement this in 11g. I read previous posts where they say make use of guided navigation, however I do not find this inn 11g.
Any help on this will be great,

Ya can be done. let say you have two dashboard pages. like
1 consolidated country wise sales report
2 detailed report . ok
if want to use the 1st page prompt value display in 2nd page with out keeping prompt
use --> dashboard edit option -- dashboard objects --> section --> section properties--> permisions available --> so that you can hide the prompt file here it won't display in the dasboard page.

Problem with passing dashboard prompts

Hi All,
I have a problem with passing dashboard prompts.
Scenario:
I have a report with country(column interaction),amount sold and two prompts.when the user selects the particular country, i need to navigate to other detailed dasboard with 2 prompts and country.
with the column interaction, am able to navigate to other dashboard with all the prompts only when the target dashboard prompts, defaults to presentation variable.
but when the user directly opens the target dashboard, i have to display the report with the default values which am not able to achieve.
All the prompts are customized prompts.
Any suggestions would be greatly helpful.

Hi,
When you drill down, corresponding filter values get added to your report. So next time when you change the prompt values It does not give you proper data.
So before you change the prompt values, you comeback to the default report. and try changing the prompt values.
Otherwise you can do one thing, Do not enable drill in place for the report section. So when you try to drill down in the report, it takes you to the new page.
And in the main page even if you change prompt values, It will work perfectly.

Passing Values to Dashboard Prompt

Hi Gurus,
I have a summary Dashboard page with summary report and prompt build on Summary table , and i have a detail dashboard page contains Detail report and prompt same as Summary but these prompts are from Dimension tables and report from fact and Dimension.
The requirement is Once i click some value in Summary dashboard it has to pass the values to Detail dashboard ( Means Passing the values to Dashboard prompt) and show the result in detail.
As i cant use the OBIEE navigation logic to pass the values as prompts columns are not from same table. So i thought to use the GO URL this also i cant use as i am using Pivot table in Summary report. I thought to use Summary prompt in the detail Dashboard and create a dummy reports based on the prompt and resultant value pass to the Detail reports. I am able get the values but i am not getting proper answer. I dont no why .
Is i am doing correct ? i know its not elegant way. If some one give me tip or direction that will be great help.

If you are attempting to pass a value from one table1.column1 to another table2.column2 where the two do not match then you will need to use a presentation variable to hold the value. You can populate the variable using a hidden dashboard prompt that has the table1.table2 and read the value into a variable. You can then use this variable to filter the table2.column2
