We are newly implementing Web Page Composer.
any body could you please let me know the what exactly web page composer do and its key capabiliites.
Is it possible to implement Blogs feature in Web Page Compoers
If yes please let me know how

Missing web page composer in portal installation

Hello to all,
how can I find out, if the web page composer is installed in our actual portal enviroment?
I visited the basic course SAPEP and worked with the web page composer, but in our admin area there is no access.
I am not a basic guy, that is my problem.
Can anybody help me?
If the composer doesn't exist, can I install only this tool? Is there a how-to-guide?

Hi claus,
Check in (http://<server>:<port>/monitoring/SystemInfo) system Information->all components link in system components then check for Kmc-wpc. if any component with such name exist then Web page composer is installed. other wise install the WPC with help of portal admin/ basis. check the link for installation guide

My question is rather simple:
Will the Web Page Composer meet the blogging need?
As I can understand blogging features should come with the Web Page Composer unrestricted shipment from Ultimo September/Primo October. Is that true? If it is true, how much customization will it take to enable the blogging feature?

Can't get to links on web pages

I can't get to links on web pages , shrink or enlarge the web page or show the other web pages that are open?The back arrow does work

Go to the Home screen and double click the Home button. That will reveal the row of recently used apps at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold on the app in question until it wiggles and displays a minus sign. Tap the minus sign to actually quit the app. Then tap anywhere on the screen above that bottom row to return the screen to normal. Then restart the app and see if it works normally.

On the page in admin,we should have a button to export the item to Photoshop. A PSD of the entire should be assembled from the elements of the XML. This means that the text leading and tracking will need to be translated from server settings to Photoshop settings. Font sizes should also match.

Web Page Composer in CE 7.2?

Hello All,
We are implementing the Portal for our customer. As the customer requires a flashy screen we suggested CE 7.2. But, we noticed that Web Page Composer does not come along with CE 7.2. WPC is a very important component and it is critical for our implementation.
Kindly let me know, if WPC can be applied for CE 7.2 using patches? Also, can KM be applied to CE 7.2 using patches? What is the workaround?
Note: In the worst case scenario, we will suggest CE 7.3 but are wary of its stability.

Hello,
I agree that we can use NW 7.0 EHP 2 to use the enhanced portal features. Also, with this we do not need to worry about the avilability of Web Page Composer and KM( as they exist with 7.0).
To facilitate the WD java applications with features of flash we are exploring an instance of SAP NW 7.2. Later make these applications available in 7.0 EHP2 portal using Federated portal network.

Time-based publishing in Web Page Composer

I'm evaluating Web Page Composer (WPC) for a customer and one of the requirements is time-based publishing for web pages and navigation, but I cant find any information on that subject.
Do you know if its possible to set up time-based publishing for WPC pages?

I contacted SAP about time-based publishing for WPC pages and unfortunately this feature is not implemented in current versions of WPC. My request has been added to the feature request list for future versions.

Migration of an existing web site to Web Page Composer

Hello,
I am investigating the options and the feasibility of the migration of an existing web site to a Web Page Composer (WPC) site. The web resources of the site can easily be copied to KM and used afterwards in WPC containers. However, they can neither be integrated to the WPC site navigation nor edited through the WPC UI. For example, only WPC Web Page or Web Sites can be WPC navigation nodes.
Has anyone ever done or tried such a migration? Do you know where I could find a description (or the javadocs) of the WPC API? Any suggestions or hints will be much appreciated.

Hi Youlian.
If I understand correctly you have rebuilt only a few hundreds of the old pages using WPC forms. Did you do this manually or you have found a way of migrating them programmatically?
Yes, we did it manually for a two reasons:
1. short timetable;
2. 20 intranet sites with variety of used technologies and tools, styles, navigation structures.
Did you leave the rest of the pages as HTML (non-WPC) files?
Yes. But we imported them into KM.
Does it mean that you have implemented only part of the navigation structure through the WPC/portal navigation?
Yes and no.
Firstly, in our case it would be a bad idea to bring all legacy, sometimes cluttered, navigation structure to a new platform as is.
Secondly, keeping in mind that in a common scenario portal already has own top level navigation you should carefully decide how deep is your site navigation structure will be.
Finally, migration it is a good time for information architecture redesign based on standards and guidelines.
Assuming that you have adjusted properly the links to all resources, have you encountered any particular navigation or display issues following this approach?
I could remember two limitations concerning a navigation:
1. you should avoiding links to navigation nodes inside non-wpc html files, because in this case a target page opens without DLN;
2. first linked non-wpc html page, which placed outside wpc container, should be opened in new window.
As for design, all our display issues caused by inline styles within source html files.
Did you notice any noticeable performance degradation after the migration?
We didn't have any degradation of performance. However, it is highly individual and depends on your portal infrastructure.

An entry point provider makes one or more folders available as links that you can access from a central point.
Please refer to this.

In this context as soon as you create an entry point, you can upload site specific/ global content and images or documents into these folders
