can we store generic binary image in Oracle 10g spatial database?
generic i mean there is no header information.

thanks in advance. i am in little bit confusion. actually i am new to oracle 10g spatial db concept and image processing. i have to decide whether to store DEM & ORTHO image in Oracle 10g spatial database. or using BLOB to store these images. i have to design physical as well as logical database to store both above mentioned images.
i don't have much knowledge about DEM & ORTHO image.
i don't know what to do. even though i have started some of the Oracle 10g spatial concepts. i would like to know can i also use oracle intermedia for storing these images (ORTHO & DEM images).

Cannot load generic boot images

I've been having an issue where when I PXE boot to my SCCM server, it starts to load the Boot Image but then reboots immediately, leaving
me in the same place I started. My assumption was that the Boot Image was corrupt, so I went to delete the image from the DP and Config Manager. Now when I go to add the boot images back into CM, I browse to the location where they're stored and I get a blank
Boot Image drop down list. Has anyone seen this before? I've included a picture of what I'm talking about.

Same here. I was getting into the PE environment just fine, but the computer would reboot after saying "Configuring Network Connections". The only reason I deleted the boot environments from Config Manager was because I thought the Boot.WIM files were corrupt.
Looking back on it, I think I probably just needed to add a NIC driver to the WIM.
TConners, did you do any upgrades to the Assessment and Deployment Toolkit in that period of time? I upgraded from 8.0 to 8.1 in that timeframe.

Creating an Oracle Spatial database in 10g and connecting ArcGIS

I have a set of shapefiles that I want to convert into Oracle Spatial 10g and then be able to view these with the capability of ArcGIS 9 (without using ArcSDE).
From what I've read, I think this could be done by using ODBC. Once that connection is made, will I then be able to use the full functionality of ArcGIS especially read/write functions to edit the information in Oracle Spatial?
What data formats does Oracle Spatial in 10g support. I am concerned about raster data, CAD data, Survey data etc

The shape files can be loaded into Oracle spatial using shp2sdo.exe available on web.To view the GIS data in ArcGIS ,ArcGIS needs the layers to be registered.Therefore you need Arcsde for registering the layers.But for viewing the data in Arcgis we do not need arcsde ,we can view the data using direct connect.For editing the data we can use ODBC connection.
About raster data,we can load tiff,jpeg,bmp,png,gif using georaster tools provided by oracle into georaster tables.

Accessing a legacy Oracle Spatial Database

We have an Oracle 9i server with Spatial extensions. There are data tables with SDO_GEOMETRY columns. These tables contain information that is consumed by a legacy application that uses MapInfo MapX GIS control. MapInfo stores metadata info in a proprietary Oracle DB table. The standard Oracle Spatial metainfo tables are empty.
What would be your recommendation for rescuing the geodata in the tables and generating the Oracle Spatial metainfo and being able to access the DB with Oracle Spatial-compatible tools like MapViewer?
Can MapViewer access the data and generate what is missing in the DB?

Oracle Spatial Database option

I downloaded Oracle 9i Personal Edition for Windows 98 platform.
It is a free download @ technet.oracle.com.I have successfully installed the database.
Now i was looking for an "Oracle Spatial" option in the database.
Can anybody tell me how can i store geospatial data in the Oracle database ?
or how can i set the option "Oracle Spatial" in the database ?

How can I load string type fielt into oracle table as a date?

I have a date field in oracle table(target) and my source is ms sql server. In my source table I have string type field include date data like '20150501'. I wanna load that data into oracle as a date field. In my target table this field type is date. But I cant load that data. It seems empty.I use convert function and its format is mssql format. How can I load pattern matching images into memory?

I discovered this problem by accident when our network went down. I could not run my VI because the .png file used for pattern matching was on a network drive. My concern it the amount of time that is required to read a network file. Is there a way to load the file into memory when the VI is opened?

Thank you for contacting National Instruments. For most pattern matching programs, the pattern file should only be read from file once and is then copy to a buffer on the local machine. If you examine your code, or an example program for pattern matching, you should see at least two IMAQ Create VI called somewhere near the front of your code. This VI basically creates a memory location and most likely will be called once for your pattern image and once for the image you are searching.
Unless you are specifically calling a File Dialog VI where you are given a dialog box to open a file or have hard coded the file path so that it is read each iteration of your code, then your pattern file should only need to be called at the beginning of your application, th
us causing only one file read over the network for that image. Therefore your program most likely already loads the image in memory once it is read and should not be accessing the network constantly.
Again, I would recommend taking a look at your code to make sure you are not causing a file access every time and then you should be ready to go. Just in case you do have the network go down, I would recommend keeping a copy of the image locally and, if you are feeling ambitious, you can programmatically have your program read the file locally if the network file returns an error.

(SOLVED!... mostly) Can I load an external image within my custom class?

I'm starting to work a lot with Classes, but I'm still reletively new to them. I wrote a "creature" class (which extends Sprite), and I have everything working nicely... except for when it comes to displaying the image of the creature.
In previous programs, I've been able to load external Bitmaps using the Loader class. However, this can only be done from the main timeline in Flash, right? Such as this:

imgLoader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, done);
imgLoader.load(new URLRequest("001.png"));

    addChild(Bitmap(imgLoader.content));
Ideally, what I'd like to do is just have a function within my class. The function would contain the addChild statement, so I could simply do:
var MyCreature:creature = new creature();
MyCreature.loadImage();
However, I would be equally as happy if I could just load the Bitmap and return it from the class. Then I could addChild myself in the main timeline:
var MyCreature:creature = new creature();
addChild(MyCreature.getBitmap());
I've tried putting the Loader code in a function within the creature class, however it isn't working. It didn't return any errors, but it also didn't display anything, despite it containing the addChild statement. Using the trace command, it looks like its getting inside the function, however addChild doesn't do anything. Am I missing something? Is there a better way?
Here's the function in my creature class:

What is your O.S.?
What do you want to backup to? (Tape Drive/Hard Disk)
What time frame requirements do you have?
Are you running in Archive Log Mode? <-- (in case you do not know, log in with svrmgrl, connect internal, run ARCHIVE LOG LIST; and tell me what is reported on the top line of output.)
Do you have requirements that the database must be Online at all times?
Are you using 3rd party Backup Software, if so, which one(s)?
I know these are a lot of questions, but it helps me help you. :)
