Can we perform Lag Over or Lead Over operation on Cursors?

Hi,
Can we perfrom Lag Over and Lead Over operations on cursors?
If possible, could you please explain in detail?
Any suggesitions are welcome.
Thanks and regards
Gowtham Sen.

If you mean referencing forward and backward elements in an open cursor, not possible, even in 10g. All oracle cursors are forward-only.
Not completely true since 9i:

  • Can I simply swap the power lead over & it will function the same?

    Can I just use a UK plug on the EU item? I have an Apple airport extreme 5th  gen MD031Z/A  which I used during my time in Germany.  I was just wondering if it will work the same in the UK, if I simply replace the European power cord with a UK figure 8 power cord?
    Are the MD031Z/A (EU version) and the MD031B/A (UK plug) exactly the same? Apart from the power supply?
    I just don't want to damage the unit by swapping the cord?
    Thanks

    The AirPort Extreme will run on 100-240 Volts and 50-60 Hz, so power wise, it will work just about anywhere in the world if you have the right power adapter or power cord for the wall sockets where you will be going.
    Last time I checked the wireless standards were the same in the UK and the rest of Europe, except Switzerland, so things should be fine in that regard.

    Yes if your already on OS X Snow Leopard 10.6
    See #8 Reinstall Just OS X + Software Update
    ..Step by Step to fix your Mac
    However you should backup files REGARDLESS as anything can happen at anytime.
    Most commonly used backup methods
    https://discussions.apple.com/community/notebooks/macbook_pro?view=documents
    Yes if your upgrading 10.4/10.5 to Snow Leopard 10.6
    However if your hard drive is more than 50% full, then it might be slow. Move just your users files temporarily to a external storage drive (not TimeMachine) and reboot, check in Activity Monitor than you have reclaimed drive space, then upgrade to 10.6, then reboot and Software Update to 10.6.8, then return your users files into their respective Music, Pictures, Documents etc., folders.
    If you have problems upgrading to 10.6
    How to erase and install Snow Leopard 10.6
    Optional:  For Snow Leopard Speed Freaks
    I do NOT advise you upgrade to 10.7 or later on 10.4/10.5 issued hardware due to risks and performance issues, your PPC based programs will not work and require replacement.

    I am trying to sign into iCloud and I am informed "THIS APPLE ID IS VALID BUT IS NOT AN iCLOUD ACCOUNT". Which makes no sense to me. But in the mean time I have purchased some songs and I can't get them on my ipod nana because I can't sign in. Can I delete this ID and start over?????

    OK, I just click the "cloud" in my itunes account and re-synced my ipod nano and I now have the songs I bought, this was really a stupid venture. But I am now enjoying my purchases on my ipod. SORRY TO HAVE TAKEN UP THE SPACE

Anybody got a word of advise? I've tried resetting the iPod but get the message that it's not possible cause i'm not connected to internet. I am though. Tried managing music manually. I've tried all the usual stuff.

    Go to Settings > General > Usage and see how much is shown available and how much is in "Other".

    my iPod touch 5th generation had white screened an it won't let me rest it by holding down the home button an the power button for ten seconds I've pulled it in to iTunes an its not being detected what can i do as its starting to over heat?

    If you can't get it to shut down or restart when holding down the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons and you can't get it recognized in iTunes to restore it, the iPod may have suffered a hardware failure and will need to go to Apple for service. Someone else here may have additional suggestions, though.
    There is no "fifth generation" iPod touch, by the way, just for the sake of clarity; not yet, anyway.
    Regards.

    No, absolutely not..
    Although it has better life than the old ones you are tempting fate by cutting any ventilation at all.. stick the TC vertical on a wall (mounts are sold on ebay) anywhere but under something.

  • Performance problem: 1.000 queries over a 1.000.000 rows table

    Hi everybody!
    I have a difficult performance problem: I use JDBC over an ORACLE database. I need to build a map using data from a table with around 1.000.000 rows. My query is very simple (see the code) and takes an average of 900 milliseconds, but I must perform around 1.000 queries with different parameters. The final result is that user must wait several minutes (plus the time needed to draw the map and send it to the client)
    The code, very simplified, is the following:
    String sSQLCreateView =
    "CREATE VIEW " + sViewName + " AS " +
    "SELECT RIGHT_ASCENSION, DECLINATION " +
    "FROM T_EXO_TARGETS " +
    "WHERE (RIGHT_ASCENSION BETWEEN " + dRaMin + " AND " + dRaMax + ") " +
    "AND (DECLINATION BETWEEN " + dDecMin + " AND " + dDecMax + ")";
    String sSQLSentence =
    "SELECT COUNT(*) FROM " + sViewName +
    " WHERE (RIGHT_ASCENSION BETWEEN ? AND ?) " +
    "AND (DECLINATION BETWEEN ? AND ?)";
    PreparedStatement pstmt = in_oDbConnection.prepareStatement(sSQLSentence);
    for (int i = 0; i < 1000; i++)
    pstmt.setDouble(1, a);
    pstmt.setDouble(2, b);
    pstmt.setDouble(3, c);
    pstmt.setDouble(4, d);
    ResultSet rset = pstmt.executeQuery();
    X = rset.getInt(1);
    I have yet created index with RIGHT_ASCENSION and DECLINATION fields (trying different combinations).
    I have tried yet multi-threads, with very bad results
    Has anybody a suggestion ?
    Thank you very much!

    How many total rows are there likely to be in the View you create?
    Perhaps just do a select instead of a view, and loop thru the resultset totalling the ranges in java instead of trying to have 1000 queries do the job. Something like:
    int     iMaxRanges = 1000;
    int     iCount[] = new int[iMaxRanges];
    class Range implements Comparable
         float fAMIN;
         float fAMAX;
         float fDMIN;
         float fDMAX;
         float fDelta;
         public Range(float fASC_MIN, float fASC_MAX, float fDEC_MIN, float fDEC_MAX)
              fAMIN = fASC_MIN;
              fAMAX = fASC_MAX;
              fDMIN = fDEC_MIN;
              fDMAX = fDEC_MAX;
         public int compareTo(Object range)
              Range     comp = (Range)range;
              if (fAMIN < comp.fAMIN)
                   return -1;
              if (fAMAX > comp.fAMAX)
                   return 1;
              if (fDMIN < comp.fDMIN)
                   return -1;
              if (fDMAX > comp.fDMAX)
                   return 1;
              return 0;
    List     listRanges = new ArrayList(iMaxRanges);
    listRanges.add(new Range(1.05, 1.10, 120.5, 121.5));
    //...etc.
    String sSQL =
    "SELECT RIGHT_ASCENSION, DECLINATION FROM T_EXO_TARGETS " +
    "WHERE (RIGHT_ASCENSION BETWEEN " + dRaMin + " AND " + dRaMax + ") " +
    "AND (DECLINATION BETWEEN " + dDecMin + " AND " + dDecMax + ")";
    Statement stmt = in_oDbConnection.createStatement();
    ResultSet rset = stmt.executeQuery(sSQL);
    while (rset.next())
         float fASC = rset.getFloat("RIGHT_ASCENSION");
         flaot fDEC = rset.getFloat("DECLINATION");
         int iRange = Collections.binarySearch(listRanges, new Range(fASC, fASC, fDEC, fDEC));
         if (iRange >= 0)
              ++iCount[iRange];

  • Can I hear part of a song over and over again?

    I write scores and wonder if I can play some part of a song over and over again, then the next part and so on.
    I use Amazing Slow Downer in my computer for writing music but it will be great if the most valuable musical device I own (my iPod) could do this for me.
    Excuse me if there is some way my iPod can do this and I don't know.
    This also will be great for learning lenguages, you could repeat any word or sentence forever.

    Thank you Jeff for your mail,
    I sent an email to the iPod team, hopefully pretty soon we can enjoy this feature in the iPod.
    Maybe if we invite our friends to ask for it could be sooner.
