    The servermgrd IS loaded?
    Anybody theres have a clue??

    As root go to /System/Library/LaunchDaemons and edit com.apple.servermgrd.plist and change the "Disabled" boolean to "<true/>".  Then say:
    launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.servermgrd.plist
    For some reason that I have not discovered yet the system keeps changing the bool back to "false" on occasion.

  • Can't remove OVM server from server pool

    Hi!
    I tried to remove Oracle VM server using OVM. Both have version 3.0.3
    I use Add/remove wizard from server pool. Selected my single server from list and pressed OK. Nothing happend. Server still in pool.
    I tried to do so when server was online, offline. Results are the same. I reinstalled OVS, but now i'm can't discover it again even i configured different name and IP address. MAC is the same and it's the reason.
    So, is it any way to force delete OVS using any tool or i have to reinstall OVM and it's repository?

    I did it but i don't know how :)
    I tried to discover re-installed server with new IP and name. This operation was failed.
    I changed IP address on re-installed server to old one. And re-discovered server with old name. After that it appeared in unassigned machines list. So, i was able to delete it and also delete old server pool

  • Can access a remote server from all locations except from my house

    This is a very weird problem.
    My home ISP is Xplornet. This is a rural "fixed wireless" set-up (antenna on the roof connected to the Xplornet modem). The Xplornet modem is connected to a Belkin router. The router connects wirelessly to my laptop.
    The remote server (the office server) is connected to an Apple airport. The ISP is Bell, and we have a static IP.
    Before we moved, I was with Rogers (cable Internet service). While with Rogers, I could connect remotely to my office server using the AFP protocol.
    Now, here's the weird problem: Now that I am with Xplornet, I can connect to my server remotely from any location EXCEPT my house. I can go to a Starbucks and connect to my server. I can go on vacation in the U.S. and use the local WiFi to connect to my server. But I CANNOT connect from my house to the remote server.
    I have spoken to Xplornet and they say it's an Apple problem (which is what every non-Apple tech always seems to say). Or, perhaps, they say, it's the local dealer (Sentel Communications).
    Sentel says I need to pay for a static IP for my home (Huh?). Why would I need to pay for a static IP at home just so I can connect OUT to a remote server?
    Is this somehow related to the Belkin router not letting me "out"?
    Any thoughts and advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks for responding, Bob.
    Below is the result of my Ping attempt, and port scans. I scanned 548, and 5003, which I use for FileMaker (which works fine from home), I don't use screen sharing. (I can confirm that both 548 and 5003 are open on Airport on the host machine.)
    So, from my home (remote) location, here's what I get (IP: 74.xx.xxx.xx):
    --- 74.xx.xxx.xx ping statistics ---
    10 packets transmitted, 10 packets received, 0% packet loss
    round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 57.126/91.371/185.774/45.549 ms
    Scan of port 5003
    Port Scan has started ...
    Port Scanning host: 74.xx.xxx.xx
               Open TCP Port:           5003                    fmpro-internal
    Port Scan has completed ...
    Scan of port 548
    Port Scan has started ...
    Port Scanning host: 74.xx.xxx.xx
    Port Scan has completed ...
    So, 5003 is OK, 548 is not. I have to conclude this is related to my home ISP in some way?
    Unfortunately, the host server is running 10.3 (don't ask), which is not supported by Logmein. (I do use Logmein for a Windows machine on the same network, and I can connect to one area of the server via the PC, but not to the part I need, which might be the subject of a future thread.)
    Regardless, being able to connect to my work server remotely from every location EXCEPT from my home is infuriating.
    I just saw this thread about an ISP that has blocked port 548, although I always assumed the ports had to be open on the host side, but maybe not? (I have to confess, I do find the port stuff confusing.)
    If my home ISP blocks 548, then I guess that would prevent me from remotely accessing the server from home?
    If that is the case, is port 548 the only AFP option?

    Yes. No.
    Yes, you can stop shared server. Simply decrease the shared server pool to zero. (see below for details)
    No, you cannot stop a dedicated server as "The Thing" that creates dedicated server connections is the Listener. So you will need to stop that.

    Hi all,

    Also the serverstart with a command file works.
    I want to restart the managed server from the console and from wlst connected to admin server.
    What is wrong ?
    Thanks, kind regards,
    Thomas

    Hi Jin,
    I use wlst now to do what I want.
    For a gentle restart of the managed server I connect to the Administration server and then run:
    #shutdown mymanaged gently
    shutdown(name='mymanaged',entityType='Server',ignoreSessions='true',timeOut=5, force='false')
    #start the sever again
    start('mymanaged','Server','t3://localhost:80', block='true')
    Still it is not possible to restart the managed server from console (stopping works).
    But wlst works for me.
    I won't follow this problem further.
    Thanks a lot.
    Kind regards,
    Thomas

  • Can't access weblogic server from internet but can from intranet

    Hopefully this isn't the wrong place to post but I've searched through many many
    newsgroups to figure out where to post this but can't find a specific enough one.
    I've recently run into a problem with my weblogic server in that it can not be
    accessed from the internet now. This was all working several weeks ago, when
    I had the wl server listening for SSL communications on port 7002. I could access
    the server from both within our corporate intranet (kind of) as well as access
    it from the internet. I say kind of for the intranet in that when I chose to
    setup SSL on the the wl server, I couldn't get port 7002 to communicate through
    our proxy server. After a little research I determined that it would be best
    to communicate on the default SSL port of 443. After switching to 443, I didn't
    need to bypass the proxy any longer, when accessing from within intranet, but
    now couldn't access the server from the internet. The wl server is behind a firewall,
    but I had the network administrators open up port 443 on the firewall. They ran
    a network sniffer and determined that the wl server is sending a TCP FIN packet
    immediately following the last ACK packet in a TCP session establishment. I don't
    really understand what that all means, but it seems really strange that everything
    works great when inside the intranet and I don't get any TCP FIN packets sent
    from the server, but when you try to communcate through the firewall you do.
    Does anyone have any insight into this issue? something else I could look at.
    The network administrators are basically saying it's the webserver that needs
    configuration (even though it worked great in the past when listening on port
    7002 instead of 443). PLEASE HELP!!!

    Got it.  This thread helped!
    Thanks!

  • Can i start managed server from another UNIX BOX ..

              Hello,
              I have created Admin Server on 1 UNIX Box & Managed SErver on 2nd UNIX Box. After
              starting ADMIN server on one UNIX Box, i wanted to start managed server using
              same script.I can manually login to 2nd unix box & start managed server. I am
              wondering if i can start using startup script from 1st UNIX Server.
              Thanks

    You have to run the startup script from the machine where you want to start the server
              for now. Also the script has to be different for admin and managed server as the init
              arguments to java commands are different.
              We have plans in future to start managed servers from admin servers itself.

  • Can't connect to server from internet

    Hi
    I’ve just set up a new Mac mini server with Lion 10.7.1.
    It’s configured as "Host name for Internet".
    I can reach the router from Internet. NAT on the router is setup to forward the the required ports according to Apple’s document "Well known TCP and UDP ports used by Apple software products"
    Still I can’t connect to any service on the server from Internet (Address Book, Calendar, AFP, VPN)
    Please help!
    Asbjørn

    You can test it from outside with a telnet connection:
    Open Terminal.app (Applications > Utilities) and insert:
    telnet <ip-address-from-router> <port>
    so testing the iCal port would be:
    telnet 123.234.45.6 8008
    or SSL:
    telnet 123.234.45.6 8443
    When you get "Escape character is '^]'." the connection is established to the server/port.
    When you get " telnet: connect to address 123.234.45.6: Connection refused  |  telnet: Unable to connect to remote host" something is wrong with the setup.
    Maybe it's the Port-forwarding, maybe the setup of the server.
    Is it working in the local network?
    I also would recommend you, to NOT share AFP over the network! The traffic isn't secured in a single way! Instead just configure VPN and establish the AFP connection through that VPN tunnel, but not directly by opening that connection to the internet!

    is it possible to do the same with a tv tuner card.?

    For HLS streaming, only aac/heaac are supported audio codec. Though FMS do not disallow packaging mp3, but its mostly depnds upon ios devices to play back them.. We don't recommend mp3 as codec for ios playback.

  • Can we stop the server from generating a client jar

    When an EAR module is deployed, the server generates a large (a few MB) client jar inside the deployment directory. AFAIK this jar is never used for anything unless you have ACC clients. Please correct me if I'm wrong!
    Recently, we've had some worrying exceptions logged, indicating that there is a problem reading this client jar, and the context indicates that the server is attempting to set up a class loader for it. Everything works fine anyway.
    We have a few hundred EAR's deployed in each of our servers, and the EAR's contain on avarage about 30-40 entity beans, so you can imagine that we worry about every unnecessary resource allocation.
    Also, every exception logged requires attention from the admins so we would really like to get rid of these jars if we can, and if they are in fact unnecessary.
    TIA,
    Gunnar Grim

    Hello, Gunnar.
    You are correct that the generated jar is for launching clients using ACC. (Historically some users have taken the generated app client jar and added it to the classpath for non-ACC clients, but this is not an officially supported use of it.)
    You said that recently exceptions have been reported, which I assume means that this was not always true. It would seem that something in the environment or the applications has changed to trigger the exceptions. Identifying whatever that change has been might help identify the root cause of the new problem. Have you changed anything in the environment or the applications around the time the exceptions began appearing?
    Can you post an example of one of the exceptions you are concerned about?
    Also, what version of the product are you using?

  • I can't access my server from a remote PC

    I can access a mac mini running snow leopard from remote Macs but I cannot access it from a remote PC. Are there special ports that need to be opened on the router to permit this?

    Access how?  ssh?  telnet?  Server Admin?  screen sharing?  File sharing?
    If it's screen sharing as I might guess, that's VNC, and VNC works the same on both Windows and Mac.  There are differences around authentication settings, but the IP ports are the same.
    (Please Google the forums for previous discussions of using VNC from Windows to Mac, too.  Depending on what tools you're using for VNC, see, for instance, this thread.)
    if it's file sharing, then it's usually either via Windows SMB or Apple AFP.  Running either of these over the open Internet is not something I'd recommend.  I'd suggest using a VPN to connect to your server or to your firewall.  Using VNC over a VPN is a good idea, too.
    If it's file sharing, and depending on which Windows version you're using, there are settings you'll want to tweak.  Here are some settings for interoperation using SMB.

  • Can't connect to MySQL from Flex

    Hi,
    I just started learning Flex a week ago and I'm still a noob
    in this area.
    I recently discovered about Cairngorm and tried to understand
    it.
    I managed to understand the Cairngorm diagram and applied
    that in my "Login" function.
    My problem is when I define a database connection to MySQL, I
    would get error in my Flex application, but when i define static
    variable the whole application would work just fine.
    The error is "NetConnection.call.failed: HTTP:failed"
    I'm using Zend Amf as the server.
    Please tell me what is the problem. Thanks!

    ============ Edit ================
    I'm sorry,
    I just did some fix and this is the more specific details.
    If I use this code in my PHP
    mysql_connect(DBHOST, DBUSER, DBPASS);
    mysql_select_db(DBNAME);
    $query = "SELECT * FROM school";
    $result = mysql_query($query);
    return "test";
    Flex would be able to "get" the return value.
    But if I used this code
    mysql_connect(DBHOST, DBUSER, DBPASS);
    mysql_select_db(DBNAME);
    $query = "SELECT * FROM school";
    $result = mysql_query($query);
    return $result;
    Flex would get an error.
    Please help.
    Thanks.
    Regards
    Joni

    I am not a php guy really so here is what I would do in this
    situation. Using the Flex Builder data wizard, I would generat a
    crud appliation against the mySQL table and see how the resulting
    php code returns data back to flex.
