Can we restrict a keyfigure with an attribute?

Hi All,
If suppose we have zpaper and zprint chars, with an attributes of A4,A3 paper and Black,colour print. And keyfigures such as Count and cost. And my example report format is like this,
<b>ID , name , deptID, blackcount, colourcount, A4count, A3count, Blackcost etc</b>..
And my doubt is, this report is an CSV file,i.e. we are just taking the data from CSV file and loading data into the cube ( which is also a customized cube). And how can we restrict these 2 keyfigures with the attributes (A4,A3, Black,Colour)? Can any one plz give me the soluiton?

Scenario is like this
If my company was decided to purchase goods from a particular vendor upto Rs.1000, if cross the rs.1000 limit don't allow the Posting the PO and get the Message as warning/error.
Give the configuration setting's and T.codes

Hi
Go to T.Code oms4 and then select the material status BP (Blocked for purchasing)
Click on Details
In that under Purchasing select the option A= Warning or B=Error
Click on Save
Thus by doing this no further purchasing function for that material can be done. So the PO can not be issued
So as and when the value limit reaches see that purchasing option is blocked
So no further PO are generated in the future

Can we restrict a formula with other characteristics?

Hello all,
I am using a structure in rows in my query designer. I have a formula in that structure now I a want to restrict that formula with particular fund ranges.
Also one option that I am thinking is can I create the same formula in the key figures section ( but the formula has characteristics in it and i tried but it does not let me) has anyone done that.
Can we do any of that or is there any other way of doing it.

This what my query looks like ...i have a KYF structure in cloumns which has 4-5 restricted key figures.
Then i have manually created a new structure in rows, because the client requirement is very very specific, most of the lines in my rows structure are like nodes of hierarchy and sometimes that node is restricted more by some char. now when i get at the bottom 5 lines i need to create a formula (revnuesexpensetrasnfers) and restrict that by fund ranges. and this object should be added to another selection (hierarchy node) which evetually will get what client wants.

Hi,
I need to create a restricted key figure using attributes of 0BP_COMPET.
On my report is :
Competitors (0BP_COMPET)
Quantity
Active Competitors = Expiry Date of Minority Status greater than or equal to system date
Inactive Competitors = Expiry Date of Minority Status less than to system date
Note : Expiry Date of Minority Status is a navigation attribute of 0BP_COMPET and system date is generate by variable 0DAT - Current Calendar Day (SAP Exit).
How can i apply the formula?

How can I copy a file with all attributes

Is there a way within Java to copy a file, with all its file attributes?
I have seen a number of custom methods posted on these forums for copying the contents of a file to a new file with the same name in another location. The problem is that these methods don't copy the file attributes, particularly the creation date.
If there is no way to do this in Java, is there a way to have Java execute an operating system command, such as "COPY" or to access the O/S to change the file attributes?

How can I restrict who connects with WPA?

Our current network is using WPA with having the users get authenticated via the windows domain. Anyone with a domain login can use the same credentials to log in to the wireless network.
Is there a way to keep some users from authenticating to the wireless network?
I was not sure if the windows domain had an option to set who can and cannot access the wireless.
What I am trying to prevent is a user installing a wireless card into their laptop,getting the SSID from another user and the accessing the wireless network with permission.

If your company standardizes on a given wireless NIC, you might be able to institute a MAC filter.
If you're using WPA with server-based authentication, you can usually install a policy (i.e., with Microsoft IAS, RRAS, and the user account, you can disable wireless logins by checking / unchecking the "Dial-in" attribute).
Are you using ACS, Microsoft, or freeRADIUS (or other RADIUS server)?
WPA is more of an encrytion thing, which authentication scheme are you using (WPA-PSK, LEAP, PEAP, EAP-TLS, EAP-TTLS, MD5 ...)?
IF you're using Microsoft-based authentication platforms, Microsoft has some pretty good white papers / step-by-step info on setting up their systems.

the is for first item in a block

this is for second item in a block
Set_Item_Instance_Property('emp_dept_date.DAILY_ID', CURRENT_RECORD, VISUAL_ATTRIBUTE,'date');
(emp_dept_date) is block name
(to_date & daily_id) is an item name
date is an visual attribute name which we create our self to define a color we want to change for the items we want to.
these both visual attributes will solve the when we click when button pressed in that change the color of the items in the block you want to change

Can I identify an instance with an attribute?

I hope that question even makes sense - I've been staring at the same problem so long I'm confuzzled completely!
I'm trying to program a mini bank-type scenario, where a customer selects an option from a menu (eg deposit, transfer), then supplies an account number. The menu system is all fine, I've got my methods written for the deposit, and I've created an Account class, which includes an id field. However, I'm completely drawing a blank on how to identify a specific account using that account id - is it even possible?
At the moment, I would create an account:
Account myAccount = new Account(id, balance);
If I then want to deposit funds into that account, I'd use the deposit() on myAccount - so, the id field is either redundant, or I could use it as some kind of verification/password? Hmm.
Apologies if this is a stupid question, I'm pretty new to all this and my brain is totally fuzzled :(

Well, I think that giving numeric IDs to your account is just fine and will serve all your purposes. Why should an extra field like account name be used when the numeric ID can handle everything? Just use a single number for each account. This will keep the program simple without the loss of any functionality.{Remember that names need not be unique, the primary key that is.).
And i am just as much a noob as you are(if not more)
I still dont know if i got the question right and then, if i got the answer right as well.

Hi ,
Cost Price will still be defined as a key figure, but we will be defining it as an attribute of 0MATERIAL.
Choice of doing this will subject to specific reporting requirements like, since cost price of the article is slowly changing value (nearly fixed) ,hence we might prefer to load this into the master data which can be looked up along with other attributes of 0MATERIAL while doing transactional loads.
Also this will help in reducing the width of the fact table.
Another scenario could be if price is time dependant. It would be a good option again to use this as an attribute.

Simple way to restrict keyfigures with authorizations

Good day!
I need to restrict some users from viewing some keyfigures in some infoproviders. Total amount of keyfigures is about 40. BW auth concept doesn't allow to use NE operator. The only way I see now is to list all keyfigures for each infoprovider. That is not very convinient.
Second idea is to use BT operator, but I need four intervals for restricting three key figures.
Any other ideas?
PS: I need to restrict different keyfigures for different infoproviders...

You can do this using a Characteristic 0TCAKYFNM. This characteristic is used for authorization analysis. Authorization-relevant display attributes are hidden in the query if the user does not have sufficient authorization. Can Shuttles be based non-base table ViewObjects with transient attributes

Users have to select records from a data collection and a Shuttle looks most appropriate/nice for this purpose. We can introduce technical intersection tables in order to generate the Shuttles with JHeadstart 10g R3 if necessary, but there is no “functional” need to update any data in the database and therefore it would be practical if the ‘right’ side from a Shuttle can be based non-base table ViewObjects with transient attributes only. So, our interested is to know which records have been selected, i.e. moved to the right side from the Shuttle.

This cannot be generated out-of-the-box.
It is easiest to add the shuttle post-generation to your page, and then create a custom template to generate your custom shuttle into the page. I suggest you take a look at an example of a generated shuttle in a page, and the JHeadstart IntersectionShuttleBean class. You will see that the value property of <af:selectManyShuttle> points to the selectedKeys method in the JHeadstart Shuttle bean. In your case, you can create your own managed bean and bind the value property to your own method which will provide you access to the selected rows. The value property of the selectItem within the af:selectManyShuttle determines the property that is used to identify the selected row (which is the row key in case of Jhs-generated shuttles).
