Can we silently print a PDF file programmatically without opening Adobe Reader using DDE messages

Hi,
Can anyone help to solve this.
I want to silently print a PDF file without opening the Adobe reader window.
Thanks,

I would like to do that same thing.  Did you ever find an answer to this question?

  • How can I silently print all PDF documents that are opened automatically?

    For a special terminal PC I want to print all PDF's that are opened to be printed automatically and without user interaction. The PDF is loaded in an iFrame in the browser, this PDF then needs to be printed.
    I don't want to modify the PDF's, the PDF's are supplied by another resource.
    I was thinking about using a folder level script that prints each PDF document automatically as soon as it is opened, but I don't know how to accomplish this.

    I don't think the installation process will allow that unless the printer is connected.
    Incorrect. Win or Mac, you can install a printer driver w/o the printer being connected.
    I have tried MS PowerPoint (which can't seem to accept paper wider than 56 inches) and have  used NeoOffice Draw
    You're using the wrong tools. PP shouldn't even be in consideration; I don't know about NeoOffice, but I tried its cousin LibreOffice, and it has issues with custom paper sizes; which is not surprising, given what these apps were designed for.
    What you need for actual banners (not web page banners) is a vector drawing tool or a DTP app. I'd say Illustrator or InDesign, but Adobe CS is expensive, and, if you're thinking of PowerPoint for this job, you're not ready for it.
    You can try Pages; although not quite DTP, it can do the job and it's inexpensive. There are other options, such as Swift Publisher (a DTP app) or Intaglio (a drawing app) -- both are more expensive than Pages, but still affordable; or you can go open source with Scribus (DTP) or InkScape (vector; requires X11). You already know the ups and downs of using open source. (These are just examples; you can find others if you look for them.)
    Although it's better to have Kinko's printer driver, to make sure of the correct options, you don't actually need it to print to PDF. You should be able to define a custom page size (eg, 12in × 72in) and create the PDF from it. Any app which uses the Mac OS X standard print function should be able to do it.

  • Cant open PDF files. Cant open Adobe Reader x

    Hi, I am running windows xp pro. I am having trouble opening PDF files and I cant open adobe reader x. I have uninstalled several times and reinstalled. I have stoped all antivirus services.

    Could you please elaborate a bit more as to what happens when you open a PDF. Do you get some sort of an error or dialog? If so, please post the contents of the same.
    Also, please let me know the version of Reader installed on your system. You can find the same by clicking on Help > About Adobe Reader from within the Reader application.

  • How can I disable viewing of PDF-files in browser in Adobe Reader XI?

    Hi everyone
    After I have upgraded to Adobe Reader XI, I not longer can find the checkbox under settings>Internet, where I can disable that Adobe Reader XI viewing PDF-files in my browser.
    If I instead press on the button, I can see in the dialog box Adobe refers to an article there give me instruction to turn off the viewing of PDF-files via my browser settings. When I follow these instructions, I can see that the plug-in to Adobe is disabled when I not viewing PDF-files in my browser, and enabled when I viewing PDF-files in my browser.
    Therefore:
    1. Why has Adobe removed the checkbox where I can disable viewing of PDF-files in my browser?
    2. How can I now disable and enable viewing of PDF in my browser?
    My operating system is Windows 7 64-bit, and my browser is Internet Explorer 8.
    Very thanks.
    Regards,
    Boholdt

    Hi again
    I have read the article, but I can still not find the plugin I should
    disable in Internet Explorer 8.
    If I see a PDF-file in my browser, I can select and disable a plugin called
    PDF Adobe Reader, but next time I open Internet Explorer 8, I not can see
    the plugin.
    Another method is between the guide for accessibility
    (edit>Accessibility>Setup Assistant. On screen number 4, you can find the
    checkbox.
    Since I am blind, I can find the assistant.
    For my interessting, it is possible for sighted users of Adobe Reader to
    find the same assistant?
    Very thanks.
    Regards
    Boholdt

    why can't I print a pdf file, it's asking for a password and I have no idea what it is it never asked for one before?

    Good afternoon SaraThanks for responding. Yes, I have been able to open these files before without a password. Funny thing is it is happening on both my husband's laptop as well as mine. I'd appreciate any help you could give me but the file is very personal. So, if you can assist in a way that won't compromise the security I would be grateful for your help.Thanks and have a great day!Kim Morse

    how to combine a few PDF files into one with Adobe reader?

    Hi aho,
    You would need either Acrobat (link to free 30 day trial) or our PDF Pack subscription service to perform that task.
    What can I do with Reader?
    Let me know if you have further questions!

  • Merge two PDF files into one with Adobe Reader

    Does anyone know how to merge two PDF files into one with Adobe Reader. Is it even possible?
    Thanks

    If you've got a Mac and OSX you can do this in Preview.  Make sure you can see the sidebar with the first PDF opened, and then drag the second PDF to the bottom of the last page in the sidebar.  Also you can reduce the size of your saved file by selecting (or making) a Quartz filter to 'reduce file size'
    Cheers

  • Why can't I print a PDF file?  message says no pages selected to print

    When I try to print a PDF file I get two messages 'This document could not be printed.' Then 'There were no pages selected to print.'  How do I select a page to print?  or is there something else?

    What is your operating system?  Reader version?

  • Safari 6 (7536.25) on Mid 2007 Mini running Lion damages pdf files when downloaded.  Adobe reader can't open them; downloaded via Chrome they can be opened.

    When I download pdf files using Safari 6, they can't be read by Adobe Reader; using Safari to read them isn't a solution, because Safari doesn't allow them to be printed page by page.  The same files, downloaded by Chrome, by contrast, can be opened and printed.  Is there a patch for this problem?

    Go to: Mac HD/Library/Internet Plug-ins
    Trash the AdobePDFViewer.plugin and AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin files
    Trash the Adobe Reader app from your Applications folder.
    Empty the trash.
    Go to: http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/ and download the FULL installer to replace Reader and the plug-ins.
    Redownload the Forms.

  • Can't print pdf files after upgrading to Adobe Reader XI

    Hi,
    I can't print pdf files after recently upgrading to Adobe Reader XI.
    Two error messages appear:
    1.- Error when starting the application because it couldn't find LXBBGF.DLL. Re-installing the application can solve the problem.
    2.- Can not load "LXBBPRP.DLL". Using defaults. Error: 126
    I can print other files (word, etc) with the same printer.
    Thank you for your advice

    Hi Pat,
    Finally I followed the instructions from another similar discussion on this web site. Unfortunately I can't find it anymore...
    I first uninstalled the Adobe Reader XI and then intalled an older version (Adobe Reader X). Now I can print pdf files!!
    Thank you anyway for your advice!

  • Why can't I print out PDF files downloaded from the internet?

    Such as medical files, applications, etc. They just end up as an "error" in my printer queue. I have used four different printers and three differnt iMac computers. Same problem. What is UP? Do I have to convert it? Becxause, when I do -- and it so graciously "allows" me to -- it reformats and looks like a transmission from the nearest five year old. Thoughts?

    Assuming that you're talking about printing from Adobe Reader for iPad or iPhone, you either (1) need an AirPrint-enabled printer, or (2) (for the iPad only), purchase a third party app like Printer Pro from Readdle.
    Here's a list of AirPrint-enabled printers:

    If you're talking about printing from Reader on your laptop or desktop computer, you're in the wrong forum.

  • How to Print a PDF programmatically without the Adobe Reader Window

    Hi,
    I'm trying to print a PDF my application. I would prefer to do it as silent as possible - no PrintDialogue | Adobe Reader Window.
    Language C#
    Adobe Reader 10.0
    Here´s some Code:
    public static void PrintPDF(string file, string printerName)
    Process proc = new Process();
    proc.StartInfo.FileName = @"C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe";
    proc.StartInfo.Arguments = @" /t /h " + "\"" + file + "\"" + " " + "\"" + printerName + "\"";
    proc.StartInfo.UseShellExecute = true;
    proc.StartInfo.CreateNoWindow = true;
    proc.Start();
    Thread.Sleep(1000);
    proc.WaitForInputIdle();
    proc.Kill();
    It works, but the Adobe Reader Window is still popping up -> /h (start the reader minimized) does not work.
    Is there another way to hide the Window ?
    Regards

    Hi,
    I am developing an application, which have to support a PDF print. My result after searching for the best possibilities is this snippet:
    public static void PrintPDF(string path, string printer)
    Process process = new Process();
    process.StartInfo.FileName = path;
    process.StartInfo.Verb = "printto";
    process.StartInfo.Arguments = "\"" + printerName + "\"";
    process.Start();
    // I have to use this in case of Adobe Reader to close the window
    process.WaitForInputIdle();
    process.Kill();
    This is the most generic solution - it prints a pdf unless no matter wich reader is installed.
    Only deficit - the Adobe Reader window still pops up. Why it does not behave like it´s alternatives (for example Foxit Reader) and print the PDF without popping up ?
