Can we test a web services using CodedUI

Hi,
Is there any option available to check the response of a web service using CodedUI.
Regards,
Priya Kumar

Hi Priya Kumar,
>> Is there any option available to check the response of a web service using CodedUI.
Do you mean that you want to check the response of a web service in a web Test with CodedUI? As far as I know, there are two ways unit test and web test template projects for web services testing. Web Test lets you invoke your web services methods, though
not through better known record and palyback feature of Web Test but by directly adding services method call and parameters, properties.
You could refer the link below for more information about this, and you could get the details about testing a web service.

  • Cannot Test this Web Service using the Test Page

    Hello,
    I'm using
    - JDeveloper 11.1.1.3.0
    - SOA Suite 11.1.1.3.0
    - Weblogic Server 10.3.3
    - Windows XP SP3 (german version)
    Now I'm having a BPEL-Process (SOA) Project created in JDeveloper and deployment to the server works fine, i.e. the service can be seen in enterprise manager.
    But if I want to test the service using the webservice tester it get the following error if I copy the URL for getting the WSDL file to another browser tab:
    Cannot Test this Web Service using the Test Page
    Endpoint Name : FabricProvider (Service Description)
    You can test the Web Service using a Java client.
    Failed to Load a composite for composite identified by default/ReisebuchungService!1.0*soa_6aebb5fb-7830-497b-b853-839518d112f0
    Please verify that the composite has been deployed.
    Can you help me with this issue? I have no idea where to start debugging or resolving the problem.
    Thanks in advance

    Heya
    others and I face the same issue, reported here:
    TP4: Cannot Test this Web Service ...
    Oracle is not too responsive on the issue though.... :(
    Cheers Christian.

  • How can I call a web service using JAVAscript in LCD

    hi guys,
         I know it can call a WSDL in LCD, but I have not any WSDL web service , and I have a REST web service ,how can I call this REST web service in LCD? I checked some documents and found nothing...if it's possible that it can call a REST web service using JAVAScript code, I mean I can program some code to call this web service ?
    thanks,
    Jesse

    Hi Jesse,
    You can do GET, PUT and POST using FormCalc, so you should be able to access a REST web service.
    There is a example of accessing a RSS feed in this thread, http://forums.adobe.com/message/5695433#5695433

  • Problem in testing a Web service using SOAPUI

    Hi Experts,
    I have developed a web service in our ECC 6.0 and download the WSDL file generated from SE80. When i downloaded the file, it saved as only XML file.  As I dont have JAVA stack in the ECC 6.0, i was testing using SOAPUI. But when i try to upload the file, it always says "Found nothing to import <URL>".
    Can anyone help me why it is giving this error? I still doubt there is some problem with the WSDL file which is generated for the service.
    Please guide me how to check the WSDL file generated is correct or not?
    Cheers,
    Madhu

    Thanks for the blog Salil.
    What ever it is mentioned is already done in SOAMANAGER. Endpoints are available for the service.
    Below is the Overview of the service:
    Object Status:               Services: 1 / Endpoints: 1
    Porttype Namespace:   urn:sap-com:document:sap:soap:functions:mc-style
    Porttype Name:             YMTEST_WS
    Internal Name:               YMTEST_WS
    SOAP Applikation:         URN:SAP-COM:SOAP:RUNTIME:APPLICATION:RFC:710
    Package Name:             $TMP
    Ok, i have developed 2 web services. One web service in ECC 6.0, where Java stack not available so i provided CRM system Java stack address in the global setting and executed my ECC 6.0 web service which says "No endpoints are found for the Web service"
    Following is the URL:  http://tuasd06db.tuasw2k.tuaspower.com.sg:8000/sap/bc/srt/wsdl/sdef_YMTEST_WS/wsdl11/ws_policy/document?sap-client=220
    The one web service which created in CRM 2007, i can test in the navigator, no problem with that.
    Following is the URL:
    http://tuasd06db.tuasw2k.tuaspower.com.sg:8002/sap/bc/srt/wsdl/bndg_DE7DA5BA0B3A93F1AF60001A64258BFC/wsdl11/allinone/standard/document?sap-client=220
    You can find the URL difference btw the URL's. Do i need to publish the service in the service registry? I thought for testing it is not required.
    Now all i have problem with the ECC 6.0 web service.
    Cheers,
    Madhu

  • Can not test the web service in JDeveloper.

    Hi there...
    I created an AppModule, added two custom methods, and generated a webservice for that. When I want to test the webservice I get the error "The Webservice Tester cannot be invoked because the WSDL document of the selected service cannot be read."
    If I right the webservice and select run, I can view the web page to invoke the methods, However I am wondering why I can't test the service inside the developer.
    The settings of my system are as follows:
    OS: windows 7 64bit
    JDeveloper: Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.3.0 , Build JDEVADF_11.1.1.3.PS2_GENERIC_100408.2356.5660
    I did not install any update for JDeveloper...
    So if anyone is having an idea what this problem is let me know.
    thanks .

    It seems that even if the test web service option does not work and i get the error, it is possible to run the web service, and then by clicking on the link in the log the tester in jdeveloper appears.
    Don't know the reason for such strange behavior.

  • Can not set up Web Service datastore using HTTPS WSDL DS 4.1

    I have been trying to configure a Web services data store to connect to an HTTPS Wsdl file
    Here is some background.
    DS Version: 14.1.1.210
    Job Server Windows 2008
    if i configure the datastore and leave the field for Keystore path empty, i get the following error:
    Error loading [https://stgbbaaviation.taleo.net/enterprise/soap?ServiceName=CorporateRecruitmentSourceService&wsdl]:
    org.apache.xmlbeans.XmlException: java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: 401 for URL: https://stgbbaaviation.taleo.net/enterprise/soap?ServiceName=CorporateRecruitmentSourceService&wsdl
    If i put the path C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Data Services\ssl\mds\DSJavaKeyStore.keystore for the keystone path,
    I get the following different error:
    An error ocurred while importing metadata: WSDLException: faultCode=OTHER_ERROR: Unable to resolve imported document at 'https://stgbbaaviation.taleo.net/enterprise/soap?ServiceName=CandidateService&wsdl':javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building faild: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target (BODI-1111469) (BODI-1112446)
    I have recreated the DSJavaKeyStore.keystore and added in additional certificates but nothing seems to work.
    As a workaround i saved the wsdl file down to the local machine (I'm currently running designer on the job server machine)
    i can then save the web service datastore and import the wsdl function.  but at runtime I get the following error:
    There is no response for the web service <getMessageByIdentifier>. Ensure that the network, web server, and service are running
    properly. Also ensure that the service client call time out is set properly.
    I have edited the
    C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Data Services\ext\webservice-c\axis2.xml file as follows for the sections that are listed in the documentation:
        <transportReceiver name="https" class="axis2_http_receiver">
            <parameter name="port" locked="false">6060</parameter>
            <parameter name="exposeHeaders" locked="true">false</parameter>
        </transportReceiver>
    <!-- Uncomment the following with appropriate parameters to enable the SSL transport sender.
             Also make sure that the appropriate transport receiver is enabled above.-->
        <transportSender name="https" class="axis2_http_sender">
            <parameter name="PROTOCOL" locked="false">HTTP/1.1</parameter>
            <parameter name="xml-declaration" insert="false"/>
        </transportSender>
        <parameter name="SERVER_CERT">C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Data Services\ssl\server\DS_server_cert.crt</parameter>
        <parameter name="KEY_FILE">C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Data Services\ssl\server\DS_server_privatekey.pem</parameter>
        <parameter name="SSL_PASSPHRASE">C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Data Services\ssl\server\DS_server_privatekey_password.txt</parameter>
    I'm not sure what i'm doing wrong.  Not much detail in the documentation on what to enter for the Keystore path in the Datastore config.
    also it is unclear if i don't have the correct certifications added to the keystore.
    Please help

  • Basic Authentication for load testing WSDL Web Service

    I'm trying to load test a web service; the WSDL URL is behind a username and password, using the basic http authentication. I can add the WSDL URL without issue with the username and password, but when I playback the script, I get "401 Unauthorized" errors
    I looked at Preferences > Record > Web Services > Proxy Configuration, which then refers you to Preferences > Record > HTTP > Proxy Settings. I also looked at similar settings under Preferences > Playback.
    I am running OpenScript (9.1), how do I configure this ... ?
    Many thanks!
    KM
    Edited by: KM on Sep 14, 2011 12:12 PM

    Hello
    You can right click on the initialize section of your script then:
    Add -> Other -> HTTP -> Authentication.
    You need 3 parameters:
    A url - http://someurl - that will authenticate any url that contains the http://someurl string e.g http://someurl.com/index.html
    A password
    A user
    The following code should be added in your script:
    http.addAuthentication("http://someurl", "username",
                        deobfuscate("5blNah5kX/XuZnepYwInFw=="));Hope this helps

  • Error when test a Web service

    Hi all,
    I am trying to create a web service for RFC Function module. I ceated the web service, now I want to test this Web service. I have the URL of WSDL file, but when I execute the URL, it doesn't display.
    Can you please suggest me what will be the reason for this error?
    Thanks

    Please find below the steps to create and test web services.
    Please follow up these steps and you would not get any error in testing web services.
    Hope this would help you.
    1. Go to SICF and activate this webservice: u201C/sap/bc/srt/rfc/sap/QUERY_VIEW_DATAu201D
    2. Go to transaction WSCONFIG andenter service destination u201CQUERY_VIEW_DATAu201D and enter variant u201Cquery_view_datau201D and hit
    enter. Currently, there are no released services so create a new service.
    3. Choose Save to release this web service.
    4. Choose ICF Details -> External Aliases
    5. Choose u201CNewu201D to create a new external alias.
    6. Enter external alias u201C/sap/bw/xml/soap/queryviewu201D and enter description u201CSAP BI Web Service u2013 XML Result Setu201D
    7. Specify your security and user ID on the u201CLogon datau201D tab.
    8. Specify u201C/sap/bc/srt/rfc/sap/QUERY_VIEW_DATAu201D under the u201CTrg Elementu201D tab.
    9. Save your external alias.
    10. Go to transaction WSADMIN -> Goto -> Administration Settings. Ensure that the path to your J2EE is specified here and save this.
    11. Find your web service and choose the u201CWeb service homepageu201D
    12. Login to your ABAP system from the Web Service Navigator
    13. Choose Test -> GetQueryViewData to test this service.
    14. Enter and Infoprovider and Query and send the request to test this web service. Note: If the query has mandatory variables, those must be passed in the parameter. For the sake of this test, use a query without variables.
    15. Ensure the request and response are successful.
    16. If you have issues, make sure you activate your Web Service and Interface in SE80.
    17. Here is an example of how to pass parameters for filter values using WEB API commands. We are passingtheFILTER_IOBJNM=0D_CHANNEL and FILTER_VALUE=3.
    18. Here is an example of how to pass parameters for variable values using WEB API commands. In this case, we are using a selection option variable. We are passing the following parameters:
    VAR_NAME_1=DISTGOP
    VAR_OPERATOR_1=EQ
    VAR_VALUE_LOW_EXT_1=3
    VAR_VALUE_HIGH_EXT_1=5

  • Creating Web Services using Netbeans GUI only

    Hi all,
    Creating, deploying & testing simple web-services through Netbeans point-n-click interface is quite simple (demo at: http://download.java.net/javaee5/screencasts/hello-simple-glassfish/). The demo shows a very simple service creation scenario, accepting and returning String types only. The service can easily be tested using the GUI option 'Test Web Service', which simply test the service through a simple web page at http://localhost:8080/MyWebApplication/MyWebService?Tester
    In a similar manner, I am trying to implement a web service (a little complex one, accepting and returning custom types) using Netbeans GUI only. Versioning information I am using are as follows:
    NetBeans IDE 6.1
    Sun Java System Application Server 9.1_02 (build b04-fcs)
    JAX-WS 2.1.3.1
    Roughly speaking, the service's method signature I am using is shown below:
    public abstract myclass.X MyService.serviceMethod( myclass.X )
    Since it uses a custom type in parameter and return-types, the web-based test doesn't work any more. I wrote a separate client class to invoke the service using client-side stub classes (suppose to be generated by JAX-WS generated classes). The client code looks like as follows:
    public class ServiceClient {
         public static void main(String[] args) {
              MyService srv = new MyService ().getMyServicePort();
              X xin= new X();
              X xout= srv.serviceMethod( xin );
              System.out.println( "Result: "+ xout.toString());
    Netbeans shows a compiler error on "MyService srv = new MyService ().getMyServicePort();
    Is it possible to get it resolved without making use of ant scripts for generating client-side artifacts (stubs etc.)?
    Thanks,
    irfan

    Hello Sandy,
    Have you installed the Sun Java System App Server or JWSDP? If so, please make sure that one of the libraries in your Netbeans project contains the jaxrpc-api and jaxrpc-impl jars (which seem to be necessary to run wscompile).
    Netbeans ("standalone") doesn't seem to install the jaxrpx libraries and other jars required to compile and run webservices.

  • Web service using jdev 10.1.3

    Hi all....
    i am trying to build a web service using oracle jdev 10.1.3.
    i have built a simple java class that return common type such as String, int, long and publish theses method as web service and it works successfully......

    public class Subscriber implements Serializable {
    private String name;
    public String getName(){
    return "Name";
    when creating the web service, the getSubscriber method was not published but the getID is published.
    any idea of how to make a web service that return a complex type....... i n
    web service steps:
    http://www.orablogs.com/cmaxwell/archives/000629.html

    As per the 10.1.3 Preview Relase Notes :
    Working with OC4J 10.1.2 : By default, JDeveloper 10.1.3 works with OC4J 10.1.3. However due to bug 3989799 it cannotconnect to OC4J 10.1.2 in the same session. Testing a connection or expanding a connection will fail with an exception. Additionally, deployment will succeed, but JDeveloper will be unable to detect and report the port number needed to access any deployed web applications via HTTP. You can enable 10.1.2 support by uncommenting the line: # AddVMOption -Drmi.disablePropagation=true in the jdev.conf file (located in jdev\bin) by removing the initial '#' character and restarting JDeveloper. Note, however, that enabling this setting will prevent JDeveloper from connecting to OC4J 10.1.3 instances, including the OC4J installation provided with JDeveloper. Comment the line then restart to restore 10.1.3 connectivity.
    Hope this helps.. Sunil..

  • How to test swaref web service method

    My simple web service method:
         @WebMethod
         @XmlAttachmentRef
         public DataHandler getFile() {
              FileDataSource file = new FileDataSource("c:\\1.gif");
              DataHandler handler = new DataHandler(file);
              return handler;
    the generated wsdl codes:
    *<xs:complexType name="getFileResponse">*
    *<xs:sequence>*
    *<xs:element minOccurs="0" name="file" type="swaRef:swaRef" />*
    *</xs:sequence>*
    *</xs:complexType>*
    I always use Eclipse web service explorer to test web service, but it doesn't support swaref web service method.
    Then I use axis WSDL2JAVA to generate web service client, but the generated "getFile" return type is not "DataHandler", but "org.apache.axis.types.URI".
    How to test swaref web service method?

    Hello..
    How did u develop the webservice?
    I mean did u develop the Webservice using Enter prise Java Bean....
    Wrap EJB in ear and deploy to the Server and now u can test the EJB method
    whether it is working fine or not
    Try these -
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/de/f7/af60f2e04d0848888675a800623a81/frameset.htm
    Inorder to use the webservice in the Webdynpro, normally we will use the WSDL of webservice
    and Import  the model using any one of them
    After importing as model we can use the EJB methods!
    Try it !!
    Thanks

    Web service is technology not a tools that bundle with IDE.
    For example you can't say how can I develope object orented program with Eclipse.
    1- You should get some general info about SOAP, WSDL and Web sevice usage
    2- Start to implmenet a simple Hello world web service and deploy it on application(web service) server
    3- Write Client code and test it.
    for step 2,3 Apache Axis(2) could be a good solution for developement or you can use JAX-WS for sun

  • URL to test ALDSP web services in web browser

    Hi:
    I was using the old 2.1 version and was able to test web services (made ds -> ds control -> web service) using a browser to see the xml produced. But migrating to 3.0, I couldn't find a way to do the similar test with a browser using URL such as:
    http://localhost:7001/custInfo/logical/customer.ws/getList?from=1to=10
    Is this still possible with 3.0 or it can only be accessed by a soap client?
    I'm trying to include an xml doc in a web page using a URL.
    thanks

    Take the same url that "Test Webservices" in workship uses and paste it in your browser.
    Seems like the 3.0 version no longer support the http-get and http-post for the web services produced out of ALDSP?There is no ALDSP version that supports http-get and http-post for webservices. In 2.x, the "test" was provided by the JWS framework. In 3.x, it's provided by the wls utc (universal test client).

  • Web Services using Database

    Hi,
    I want to write a webservice which tries to connect to the database and gets data from a table. can anyone provide a link/article regarding this
    Thanks in advance.

    The Java example given (using JDeveloper) is good. But, it does not show the return of a value to point where it was invoked. What is does is to take you to an endpoint screen, where you can test the web service (and thats all). You can not return the value that is produced back to the place where the web service was invoked. I would hope that Oracle would provide a better example in this case.
