Can we upgrade database in parllel with oracle Applcation servers

Hi
I am upgrading oracle application from 12.0.4 to 12.1.1 & then to 12.1.3.
My current version of database is 10.2.0.4. I also have a plan to upgrade my database to 11g release 2
Can anyone clarify me,
Is upgrading database from 10.2.0.4 to 11g release2 in parllel with upgradation of oracle application servers 10.1.3 and 10.1.2 possable?
As I could see that none of the patch sets of 10.1.3 have dependencies with database
I haven't checked if it has any dependencies with database while upgrading Application server 10.1.2
Please suggest me pro's & con's in doing both the upgrades in parlled
Thanks in advance

Hi;
Can anyone clarify me,
Is upgrading database from 10.2.0.4 to 11g release2 in parllel with upgradation of oracle application servers 10.1.3 and 10.1.2 possable?I belive yes you can go with spreate upgrade. Coz you are making IAS upgrade and also db upgrade which can be done separately.
As I could see that none of the patch sets of 10.1.3 have dependencies with database
I haven't checked if it has any dependencies with database while upgrading Application server 10.1.2Please see:

How can I send files by FTP with Oracle Portal?
    Any ideas?

    Enrique,
Are you trying to transfer more content from remote locations to expose as items within a portal page? By itself, the Oracle Portal runs within the context of the database so I'm not sure how FTP at the OS level will help. However, if you're attempting to transfer files from a remote PC to upload within the Portal, here are a couple of suggestions.
    Option 1:
    A. Create a portal page.
    B. Convert a region to Items.
    C. When you're challenged to upload a file from the local OS, ensure you've a drive mapped to your remote location and pick the file to upload into the Oracle9iAS Portal.
    Option 2:
Alternatively, the Oracle9iAS Portal 9.0.2 supports the WebDAV protocol(Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning Protocol) allowing endusers with a WebDAV client to upload content into the Portal seamlessly from their desktop.
    Pls. check out:

    Hope that helps!

You need a newer 2011 or later iMac to use Airplay.
    Sorry.
For older Mac, look at an app called AirParrot

Please check on the side or bottom of the AirPort Express to locate the model number. It will start with an "A" followed by four numbers.
If you have A1084 or A1088, you will not be able to administer these older versions using the iMac running OS X (10.8.5).
If you have model number A1264 or A1392, you can check to see if there are any available updates as follows:
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click on the AirPort Express icon
Click on the Version number that appears in the small window
You will be notified if an update exists for your AirPort Express

  • Upgrade to Solaris 8 with Oracle 8.0.6

    Hi forum,
on a Sparc-Server with Oracle 8.0.6 we want to upgrade from Solaris 7 to Solaris 8. Do we need to upgrade Oracle first or is Oracle 8.0.6 supportet on Solaris 8 ?
    Thanks
    Hans-Peter

    > Our organisation has been running SAP R/3 4.6C on Solaris 8 with Oracle 8i database. We are considering an upgrade to SAP ECC 6.0.
Oh.. you're aware of the fact, that Oracle 8 as well as Solaris 8 is out of support?
I would do it like (if you need/want to stay on the same hardware):
    - upgrade Oracle 8 (I hope your run 8.1.7.4) to Oracle 9.2.0.8
    - upgrade Solaris 8 to Solaris 10
    - upgrade Oracle 9.2.0.8 to Oracle 10.2.0.4 + latest interim patches
    - use kernel 46D_EX2
    - upgrade the 4.6c to ERP 6.0
Be aware, that, if you plan to use Java applications (such as the Enterprise Portal or other Netweaer related appliation), the ERP 6.0 must be converted to Unicode.

  • Upgrade database to 11g with Application Express 3.1.2.00.02

What is the recommended procedure to upgrade to a 11G database while running apex 3.1.2
We recently upgraded our development database to 11g - the steps followed were to create a new 11g database and export from 10g and import our schemas into
the new version. while creating the database our DBA selected the install Apex option. Well this caused APEX to downgrade our version to 3.0
Of course nothing worked. It's been over a week now and through many posts and other googled articles have made several attempts to rectify this. I've uninstalled and reinstalled apex many times but my real concern at the moment is......
Well now management is ready for the next 11g environment - yikes! I'd like to know some steps to take to keep this mess from happening again.
    I appreciate your advice
    Moe

As you mention in your post, installing Apex as part of 11g is optional. If you are concerned about staying with the version of Apex you have (especially if it is later than the version that comes with 11.1) then just ask your DBA to not install Apex with the 11g installer. Apex can be installed separately and can be which ever version you need (within limits).
Likewise, when upgrading from 10g to 11g, you can either upgrade the database in-situ (which would preserve your Apex database installation I believe) or create a new instance and import your schemas and redeploy your apex apps (having installed Apex manually).
As an aside, 11.2 (out for Linux/Solaris) seems to come with 3.2.1.
    Good luck.

  • Is any one tired of buying apple products to have them die or become obsolete in 1 to 3 years? I have 2 Ipod touch 5 nanos 1 pad out of all 3 are useable. Batteries die or you can't upgrade to use them with new apps. BIG WASTE OF MONEY.

I have gone through so many apple products to have the battery go out in 1 year or become obsolete in 3 years. I don't believe new apps can't be made to work with older devices and batteries should last more than a year. At this point I feel it's like so much in our world to force us to buy new or use our 3 year old ipod touch as a glorified MP3 player. Some of us can't afford to replace our devices if your like me you expect to use Apple products for a long time that's why you purchase Apple. I bought a ipad so i wouldn't have to carry a laptop but if I want to download music or a book to my nano or ipod touch I can't and who want to take a walk carrying a ipad? Would it be so hard to make a cord to attach a nano to a pad so you can download stuff? What happened to making the consumer happy? Then you call to get answers and you get, sorry that's the way it is we can't help you. I have a box full of apple devices that aren't working or can't be upgraded, I just purchased a nano7 to replace my nano 4 ( the battery dead) this will be my last Apple product until they start standing behind there products like they use to. Far beyond not happy

I have two old ipod classics ( 6 and 7 years old), an ipod nano, the original iphone, iphone 3gs, iphone 4, iphone 4s and an iphone 5.  All still work just fine.
    You may be the exception.

  • Can i upgrade to mountain lion with 10.5.8?

I currently have a Mac Book Pro version 10.5.8  I just got an Iphone 5 and when i plug it into my computer it pops up that I need to download the new itunes, but I cant download itunes because i dont have the right OS version.  can I download Mountain lion with 10.5.8 or do I need to download snowlepard?

Upgrade Paths to Snow Leopard, Lion, and/or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. To access the App Store you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later installed.
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You must purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s iCloud services; fees and
               terms apply.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
To upgrade to Mountain Lion you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Purchase and download Mountain Lion from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mountain Lion is $19.99 plus tax. The file is quite large, over 4 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mountain Lion - System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mountain Lion
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) - Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.

  • I have a mac book 10.6.8 that has been upgraded to Snow Leopard (latest version.) How can I upgrade to mountain lion with 1GB of memory? When I go to buy it, it says that it's not compatible with my Mac but my Mac has all of the qualifications.

If anyone has any idea I'd really appreciate it. I just bought the iphone 5 and recieved the new nano as a birthday gift and now I'm up a creek without a paddle b/c I can't plug them into my laptop without the new itunes that runs on Mountain Lion.
Please help, I'm not very tech savvy.

You don't need anything higher than OSX 10.6.8 to run iTunes 11.  iTunes system requirements - http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
You can't upgrade without more RAM.
MacBook upgrade possibilities - https://discussions.apple.com/message/19577869 - "The Early 2006 model 1,1 Core Duo can only run a maximum of 10.6 Snow Leopard. The models Late 2006 Core 2 Duos 2,1 through Early 2008 4,1 can only run a maximum of 10.7 Lion. The Late 2008 model 5,1 Aluminum Unibody through the Mid 2010 White Unibody model 7,1 can run 10.8 Mountain Lion."
