Can we use 9i forms on R12 ?

Hi..folks,
We are using form 6i ....and planning upgrade of apps EBS to R12 ...now 10g forms are compatible with R12....but can we user 9i forms too on R12 ? Because forms migration assistant converts from 6i to 9i / 10g...what would be the best choice ..?
Thanks...

You genrally need to use the version of Forms used in the version of EBS you ar interested in so I don't think you can but you should ask in the EBS forum to be sure. There are so many special cases for EBS and this is the bespoke Forms forum and people here won't necessarily know.

  • How many times can I use a form?

    Hi Everyone,
Can anyone explain what this means? (text below) If I make a form in LiveCycle Designer and then I extend it so that other users can fill it out...Does that mean that only 500 people can use the form?
If so, then...I am dumbfounded and disappointed.
What must be purchased in order to allow more than 500 people to use an extended form?
    Thanks All.
"15.12.3. For any unique Extended Document, you may only either (a) Deploy such Extended Document to an unlimited number of unique recipients but shall not extract information from more than five hundred (500) unique instances of such Extended Document or any hardcopy representation of such Extended Document containing filled form fields; or (b) Deploy such extended Document to no more than five hundred (500) unique recipients without limits on the number of times you may extract information from such Extended Document returned to you filled-in by such Recipients. Notwithstanding anything herein to the contrary, obtaining additional licenses to use Acrobat Pro or Acrobat Pro Extended shall no increase the foregoing limits (that is, the foregoing limits are the aggregate total limits regardless of how many additional licenses to use Acrobat Pro or Acrobat Pro Extended you may have obtained).

There are two parts to your question, even though one is implicit.
Question 1 (implicit): Can I have an unlimited number of people fill in and submit the data for a form?
Answer 1: Yes.  Reader has always allowed an unlimited number of people fill in a form as part of a web transaction and submit the results.  And, there have always been an unlimited number of times that someone can store the form (with no data filled in) on local systems or media or print the form.
Question 2: Then what is the 500 user limit referred to with the reader extensions talking about?
Answer 2: Reader Extensions is a capability enabled by the LiveCycle Reader Extensions server, or Acrobat (in the limited cases you quote from the EULA) to let a user save a form on a local system with data filled into it.  You can read more about it on the product page; the number of forms or recipients are part of the terms of the server license. Acrobat Pro can reader-extend a subset of the capabilities of the server product (only local form data save, signatures and commenting; not pdf spawn pages, web services or ODBC data access) and it only allows the 500 users in the two cases in the EULA for form data save.
To make this more clear, consider two cases... a form that is not reader-extended (RE) and one that is.
Not RE: You can get a form from a website, fill it in, and then submit the data by HTTP or email. However, if you save the form on your local system, the form that is saved is the blank form without the data.
RE:You can get a form from a website, fill it in, and then submit the data by HTTP or email. But also, the user can save a copy of his form with the data filled in for his archival purposes. They can also start filling out the form, save it locally, come back and work on the data later, save again, and then finally submit.  The submit can be done by the same HTTP or email methods as above or the user can even choose to send the entire form back and have the werver process extract the data. (If you choose to reader extend through Acrobat, this use case is subject to the EULA limitations).
    I hope that helps.

  • How can I use adobe forms to force payment (with PayPal) to ensure payment before registration? Or is this an issue with PayPal?

I am using adobe forms to create a registration form for a workshop that I am holding. It is a $10 charge to attend however I am having difficulties ensuring the payment goes through before the participant is put on the registration list. Is this something I can fix through adobe forms or should I be going through PayPal to fix the issue?

  • Can I use a Forms as a Library to other Forms?

I am converting our Forms 3.0 Application to 9i. I am currently looking to convert via the easiest path so we can start developing with the new technology.
In Forms 3.0, we have a Library of common procedures which is actually a Form. In Forms 3.0, other forms can then call procedures in the Form, similar to the librarys in Forms 9i, 6i etc. I would rather not convert this to a library manually because our Forms 3.0 "Library" is constantly changing. (unless there is an automated way of converting a Form to a 9i Library (.pll)... Even the 9i XML-2-Forms procedures can't handle libraries so I can't even write a Perl Script to do it...)
It looks as if it will let me reference a Form as a library but then I get the following error:
"PDE-PLI011 A tools common schema table is missing from the object store."
Cause: You attempted to create or access a library stored in the database, but the operation failed because a table was missing from the Oracle Tools Common Schema.
Action: Contact your DBA and insure that the Oracle Tools Common Schema is installed properly.
How do I fix this? How do I install the Oracle Tools Common Schema? I cannot find any information on this problem anywhere on the Internet / Oracle Documentation / Forms Help / OTN. Please help if you can...
    Cheers,
    Tim.

I haven't found the solution to the error message, however, I have found a way to convert my forms 3.0 .inp files to .pll's :)
    1. I use a perl script to convert the *.inp to a .pld format (text version of .pll)
    a) strip out the Forms 3.0 specific stuff and replace it with procedure headings in a package
    b) massage the older Forms 3.0 code such as replace :GLOBAL.dummy with name_in('GLOBAL.dummy')
    2. convert pld to pll as follows:
    ifcmp90 module=V3FORM_UTIL userid=scott/tiger@orcl module_type=library parse=yes
as for the PDE-PLI011 error... Please reply if you know a fix for this one. It will be useful to know...
    Cheers,
    Tim.

  • Can you use Sub-Forms in FormsCentral

I'm developing an inspection report form and would like to make it dynamic by alowing the user to delete sections of the form that do not apply to the site.

    HI;
You can use "Show and Hide" logic to show or hide a group of questions based on the answer to other question/s.  I think this would give you what you are looking for.
Select the group of fields you want to hide or show based on another answer, and in the Properties panel click the "Show/Hide" checkbox.  This is a Paid level feature.
    Thanks,

  • Can I use C# forms with TestStand

I am looking to use a rtf file to store data collected during a TestStand sequence test.  I have used C# class libraries in the past with TestStand, but I can only alter the Rich Text while using a Rich TextBox format and that can only be used in a windows form.  Is it possible to work with a windows form and not a library with TestStand?

    Hey mcfrenzy36,
I found something in the TestStand help that I think can point you in the write direction http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/370052J-01/tsapiref/infotopics/font_objects/

  • Can I use PDF forms on an iPAD?

I have completed a multi page interactive PDF file. It is a survey and works fine off a laptop or desktop.
My client has expressed an interest in having this work on an iPAD. The idea is use the iPAD for its convenience and then send the completed form via email back to the home office.
Presently my file does not reveal the fields so I am thinking I need to do something more. I've got an iPAD but with less  than a week experience. I am speculating that it is the nature of the platform and probably the only way to make this work is to have the form on a server and use safari to be the depository.
The business problem is a chronic web connection to work this way is not an assumption.
    Thanks for any thoughts

You and your clients can try an iPad app under the title PDF Expert. Above all available features, I usually use this application to fill out PDF forms. PDF Expert even works with those forms that have built-in calculations. What is mostly important for me as a lawyer - sign up feature, that allows me affirm contracts, agreements, etc with the own signature right on the iPad and email back the documents to the office or clients.
More information and features you can find in the app's description: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/pdf-expert-fill-forms-annotate/id393316844?mt=8

  • Can we use old tables in R12

    Hi All,
I am into an R12 upgrade project, there are some customized reports of the client which have the tables like ra_customers,ra_phones,ra_contacts etc. The report runs fine, but I came to know that these tables are now not backward compatible according to the R12 TCA architecture and so was the reason i think that, I could not find the synonyms for the above tables in the apps schema(found this during compilation of the report).
Please correct me if I am wrong, if yes, I have to find alternatives to change the report so that it points to the new R12 tables.
A speedy suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

  • Can I use FormsCentral forms to connect to an MS Access Database

    Hi
Does anyone know if it is possible to link a form from FormsCentral account to an MS Access database?

Not directly. You can export the response data (as XLS, CSV) and import it into a database.

  • Can I use Oracle Forms Services 11g with Database 9.2.0.8.0?

    Hi everyone.
My department is evaluating development tools in order to build new web applications, and also possibly to migrate current applications buit with Oracle Forms 6.0.5.34.0. Our database is Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.2.0.8.0 - 64bit.
We have read that the newest Oracle Forms version is Oracle Forms Services 11g. Is Oracle Forms Services 11g compatible with Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.2.0.8.0 - 64bit? or would we have to migrate our RDBMS to Oracle 11g?
If our database is compatible, what would we need to develop and deploy applications with Oracle Forms Services 11g?
    Many thanks in advance.

Wheter it's compatible or not: Database 9.2.0.8 is in sustaining support which means you won't get patches for it. So even if it is compatible I'd opt to upgrade to a newer version, as I wouldn't feel comfortable having a not-supported product out in production.
Have a look at the certification matrix for supported configurations
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/downloads/fmw-11gr1certmatrix.xls
As for the requirements; most things can be found on the forms homepage on OTN:

    or at the documentation:

  • Can't use edit forms on some web pages

I have been using my iPad on forums (like this one) and find some where the iPad can't be used. For instance, if I try to edit an bay page, I can't set the cursor insert point. Also when I click an data entry field, the keyboard doesn't pop up.
I have seen this behavior on a couple of forums.
This appears to be a problem in the iPad or safari. I have no problems on any of these web sites using any other computer.
    Any ideas?

Thanks but it didn't fix the problem.
I still can't edit on some pages. I tried to edit my first post on this forum and it works ok. But if I go to eBay and try to edit an auction description, the keyboard won't pop up, when I click the edit field. I can edit the same field with my PC but not from the iPad.
I can edit single line fields but not multiple-line fields (like this post) on some sites. When I touch, tap, hold or make any contact with those fields, the iPad will only select. It won't go into edit insert mode.
Another equally problematic problem, that even happens on this forum, on fields I can edit, is that there is no way scroll or move to a different part of large idiot fields. All I can work with are the first 10 lines. I have found a workaround but it is very tedious.
I have seen this behavior on other forums too. Only my iPad has this problem.
Simple test for someone who uses ebay. Go see if you can edit an auction description. I can't.
Another test. Try to edit a post content on this forum. If the post is longer than 10 lines, can you position the cursor at the end? These multiple-line fields won't scroll.

  • Versions of Reader prior to 9 can't use forms

Help!  My client is mightily mad.  They have people using versions 7 and 8 or Reader who can't use the forms I'm creating on ES2.  I've enabled reader access and I've saved them as being Adobe Reader 7.0.5 enabled - so what on earth else am I supposed to be doing???
    Thanks,
    Peta

    Hi Peta,
I am using LiveCycle Designer ES and experienced same problem. Generally in some forms backward compatibility creates an issue. Some of the functionalities of the form is not literally understood by some old versions. If you see the default compatibility set in LiveCycle Designer ES is 8.1 or later. It might not work in earlier versions. But the most difficult part is to understand which functionalities of the form responsible for this.
    Thanks,
    Bibhu.

Can someone bail me out of this ....I've hit a hard brick wall!!!!...What's the problem? What does a brick wall look like?
Connect to the database and execute four SQL INSERT/UPDATE statements as a single unit of work. The fact that you have one form shouldn't be an issue.
I'll bet you're having trouble because you haven't layered the problem either in code or in your mind.
I'd recommend that you write a POJO to take in some objects and execute the SQL. Once you have that running successfully you can worry about the form. Decouple the two.
Computer science is all about decomposing large problems into smaller ones.
