Can WinHttpRequest and XMLHTTP30 be Converted to MSXML2.ServerXMLHTTP60?

Hello,
I am trying to get a Visual Basic 6.0 application to run on a Windows 7 computer which successfully runs on a Windows XP machine. When I attempt to execute the project, I get a Compile error: Can't find project or library. It is missing Microsoft WinHTTP
Services, version 5.0. I believe WinHTTP is not available in Windows 7. I was thinking that if I change the code and convert all the WinHttpRequest and XMLHTTP30 to MSXML2.ServerXMLHTTP60, it would correct the issue. Can MSXML2.ServerXMLHTTP60 perform
all the functionality as WinHttpRequest and XMLHTTP30?
Will this conversion solve the problem? Is this the ideal solution and are there any other workarounds you can suggest?

I don't know as this is a Visual Basic .Net forum and not a VB6 or earlier forum.
However if you can find a copy of Visual Studio 2008 or get a free copy of
ArtinSoft’s Visual Basic Upgrade Companion (VBUC) and then convert your code to VB.Net and have any problems with the converted code then you can ask questions here about it.
Otherwise you probably need to find a VB6 or earlier forum to post your question in.

You can use Adobe's free DNG converter to convert proprietary raws to the universal DNG raw format. Here are the links:

It depends upon the restrictions set on the pdf.
If the creator of the pdf has set restrictions against copying then you will not be able to copy the content.
Are you facing the same issue with all the pdf's?

If you've bought a film from iTunes then you can only copy it to a DVD or CD for backup purposes, you won't be able to watch it on a stand-alone DVD player.

How can I get iTunes to convert my songs to MP3's again and not this AAC version. I need them in MP3's for my spicing software.

I use a spicing program that does not support iTunes. I need to be able to convert my songs to MP3's. I was able to do that from my old laptop but now that I have a new one and everything is converted to the new one I noticed that the MP3 is not on there it is now AAC. Does anyone know how to convert to MP3's now? I am in the same version of iTunes but it is not the same. ODD and FUSTRATING!!

Change the default encoder to MP3. iTunes will then give you the option to convert any unprotected file in your library to MP3; this won't work with very old iTunes Store purchases.

I can't open Sony NEX-5 raw files with PS-CS6 and latest raw converter plug-in 7.1.

When I try to open raw files from Sony NEX-5 instead of going to PhotoShop like all my NEF files, they go to another software suite that I have (On-One). I am running MAC OS 10.7.5 with latest PS-CS6 and latest raw converter plug-in 7.1. On-One seems to hi-jack these Sony raw files and won't give me the opportunity for the adjustments that I get with the Adobe Raw File converter. Any help??

How can I process a linearly converted raw file while preserving color?

I want to convert my raw files in a linear format (to preserve all the dynamic range and detail and prevent unnecessary clipping). My question is "how can I modify the brightness or luminance while preserving the hue and saturation of every color?"
As for applying the gamma curve, I guess the best and only way in Photoshop is to create a Levels adjustment and place a 2.2 in the middle (gray) input box. However, I read in http://www.luminous-landscape.com/tutorials/hybrid-conversion.shtml that a 4.75 value should be used... Why? Is the number placed there not correspond to the gamma being applied?

P.S.: getting colorimetrically accurate color from the camera, through all the manipulations in Photoshop is for me crucial. Any pointers as to what to do and what to avoid?

First of all, you should have used the Adobe DNG Converter 8.6, not an old, obsolete version. Always use the very latest version. 8.3 was simply the first ACR version to support your camera model, that's all.
Note that the DNG Converter works only on folders, not on individual raw files. Put all your Sony raw files in a folder and run the Converter on that folder containing the raw files.
I have absolutely no clue as to what on Earth you mean by : "upon reading the memory chip from Photoshop CS5".
You also need to make sure that CS5 is fully updated. You cannot rely on the highly and notoriously unreliable Adobe auto updater to tell whether you have the latest update installed or not.
I still have no idea what platform you are on, Mac or Windows. Please read the following for next time:

Hi there,
It sounds like there may be an issue with the quality of the PDF. Not all PDFs are created equal, and especially those created from scanned documents can be problematic if the scan quality isn't the best. Is there a dark background on the PDF, or stray marks or smudges?
You can try converting with OCR disabled at outlined in this document: How to disable Optical Character Recognition (O... | Adobe Community. But, while that's a good test to find out where the problem lies, you'll end up with a Word document that isn't editable, so it's not an optimal solution.

After Preflighting a PDF, using Convert to CMYK, Flatten Transparency and Prepress Profile Convert to CMYK only the resultant PDF has a grubby halo along the edge of some white type sitting on an image. The type is part of the image.

I am using a 27" iMac 3.2 GHz Intel Core 5, 8 GB Memory, running Yosemite 10.10.1.
The version of Acrobat that I am using is: Acrobat XI Version 11.0.10
After Preflighting a PDF, using Convert to CMYK, Flatten Transparency (high resolution) and Prepress Profile "Convert to CMYK only" the resultant PDF has a grubby halo along the edge of some white type sitting on an image. The type is part of the image which is 300 dpi.
It is like the image isn't really 300 dpi but has been artificially boosted to that to avoid being tagged by Preflighting, but when Preflighting the file it knows the original resolution.
I have screen grabs which illustrate the problem perfectly but do not know how to post them, if indeed they can be.
Any help or comments gratefully received.

He has a pdf portfolio and what he actually wants is a basic pdf. (his pdf portfolio has already been made, ie existing, not hypothetical!)
I cannot find the answer either... extremely frustrating since I was not ever trying to create some flash based slide show, but a proper PDF, and inadvertently created the portfolio when choosing to Create PDF From File... You would THINK the default behaviour would then be to create a PDF, and NOT a portfolio pdf!!!!!
Really annoying and frustrating... bad job Adobe!

Did you do the regular sync wirelessly or via iTunes on your computer? There are a couple ways to get the book on your devices.
You can connect to your computer and open iTunes. When your device is recognized click it once to open it. Click on the Books Tab in iTunes and check the book you want to sync. Click Apply, then Sync and the book will be on that device.
You can open iBooks on your device and click on Store, then Purchased and either all or Not on this iPad and download the book on your device.
