Can Workflow Builder model my workflow in this situation?

I have several Java applications deployed on Tomcat that I want to tie together and pass information between based on various business processes. Is it possible to kick off the individual applications with Workflow Builder or is this something that is more appropriate for OW4J? I'm kinda on a deadline and can't wait for the OW4J production release, if that's the case.

Yeah write your own. Thats what we did. We didnt like the functionality of the provided java listeners and APIs, so we wrote our own listeners that "listen" to the queues by constantly dequeuing.
And once they return with a message, we use the PL/SQL packages in the OWF_MGR schema to get and set workflow attributes and do our work. Then we just enqueue a message back into the Oracle-provided inbound queue and the background process picks up on those and starts the workflow back up where it was waiting on the java.

How can I back up my data in this situation?

I was using my MacBook Pro running Mountain Lion normally and just fine, when suddenly every click of the mouse started to result in 5 minutes of the spinning color wheel. I tried restarting, and learned that my laptop can now take up to 60 minutes just to start up. I went into disk utility, and have found that I have a "hardware problem that cannot be repaired." My MacBook Pro is literally too slow to use, and I can't repair the disk. I NEED to back up my hard drive, but when I finally managed to open time machine to get a backup on an external harddrive, I spent 2 full days to get to 8GB/500GB then something happened and it reset. Backing up would take months at this rate, and I need to save my data before I can bring it in to AppleCare. Would AppleCare cover this? How can I save all my data? It's very important. if the backing up part is extremely obvious, why didn’t you take those extremely obvious steps such as backing up more frequently, so that you would not be in your current situation?
What I’m talking about is that you had asked if AppleCare would cover “this”, viz backing up your data from a disk “that cannot be repaired”. With a damaged hard drive, the speed from which data can be extracted from it depends upon the particular damage to the drive. Alternative ways of backing up will take just as long as trying to use Time Machine to do so, since any backup method will use the same firmware commands in the disk to be able to read the disk’s contents. Resetting NVRAM will have no effect on reading a damaged disk.
No one is asking you to go without your laptop for months. You can quite easily remove your hard disk, provide it to a data recovery service to have them attempt data recovery, and install a replacement hard disk into your MacBook Pro to use your laptop in the interim. (AppleCare would take the damaged disk before installing a replacement disk, so that’s not an option if you wish to attempt data recovery on the damaged disk.)
I hope that you’ll learn the importance of making backups more frequently from this experience.

When I try to download a news publication it appears nothing happens. This started a week ago after I updated my browser. Can you offer any help to rectify this situation?

I receive a newspaper link biweekly and was always able to download the material and read it at leisure. I recently updated to the latest version of firefox and since then I am not able to get the publication. A widow shows that the information is being received from the host. At a short time the window disappears but I do not see the publication.

Safe mode just doesn't activate. I hold shift for as long as possible until eventually I get the prohibited symbol. When I hold shift I see the apple logo and loading icon and then eventually prohibited symbol, its as if I wasn't holding shift at all, which makes me wonder if the shortcut is even correct? And I know its not a problem with my keyboard or my timing of pushing shift because holding alt/option works as usual.
Holding C to load from the installs disc doesn't work either, which eliminates all the solutions based on that. Its the same as safe mode - I hold the button until I eventually get prohibited symbol.
I also tried selecting my Mac hd via holding alt key - same result: prohibited symbol.

I also tried resetting the NVRAM/PRAM, which DID seem to have an affect (screen was brighter + startup sound was louder) but I still see the prohibited symbol like all the other times.
I'm yet to be able to get past the prohibited symbol, the only way around it so far is to load the windows partition if my HD.

Collect signatures workflow - Signatures can't be added or removed because this document was opened read-only

Hi, I have configured a "Collect Signatures" workflow for test Word document(.docx), then uploaded it to sample SP 2010 doc library (content type "Document"). This Word document has 2 empty Signature Lines in it.
After that i'm starting the Collect Signatures workflow on it , which is assigned to me and other user from my Active Directory.
Workflow is started and after that i'm receiving mail about assigned task which also contains link to document.
When i click on link it opens IE which contains SP library file path, after a while doc is opened in Word client in Read-only mode. When i want to sign the document info window pops up : "Signatures can't be added or removed because this document was opened
read-only" and i'm not able to compete task/sign doc from Word.
It is possible to sign the document when i go to SP library and opens this file directly from there (file drop-down menu-> open in MS Word).
I saw that this behaviour is similar to this article:

I could not reproduce this issue.
When you open this file directly by clicking the document Name link from SharePoint library, is there a
yellow message bar in Word document?
Did this happen to all users on all PCs?
Have you checked if it is a client side issue, test with different IE 8/9/10 versions for this issue (and IE compatibility mode, add-ons, trusted site zone etc)?

Collect Signatures workflow using Firefox not showing Workflow task "This document requires your signatures" Open this task...

Hi!
I am assuming FireFox does not support the Collect Signatures workflow in SharePoint 2010.
We are testing things now, and if the Outlook link is opened via IE, the workflow task shows up when the Word 2010 document opens for signing...and I can sign the document.
If we open the hyperlink in Firefox, I go through the initial prompts and get to a stopping point where I cannot sign the document and the message states:
"Signatures can't be added or removed because this document was opened as read-only".
It looks as if we have to tell our users to use IE since there is ActiveX involvement in this entire collect signatures process.

Yes, I did see this under the ActiveX Controls area (3/4 down the page) from the same link you mention above:
Connect to Outlook, Connect to Office, and Sync to SharePoint Workspace >> Works with an ActiveX control and the stssync:// protocol. Therefore, functionality may be limited without
an ActiveX control, such as the one that is included in Microsoft Office 2010. The feature also requires an application that is compatible with the stssync:// protocol, such as Microsoft Outlook.
...which I'm assuming is the whole ActiveX control issue...and hence the Firefox problem.

you can do it by matrix reports. first build your query in general then build a matrix report layout.

Instead of just making a casual, blanket statement, why don't you just post the actual install procedure here, then.
Also, the 2006 models really do not have sufficient RAM specs to run Mavericks well.
So, I seriously question that your 2006 model iMac is running well on Mavericks.
2006 models could either take 2 or 3 GBs of RAM (you can install 4 GBs of RAM to take advantage of more efficient RAM processing of matched pairs of RAM, but the hardware will only recognize 3.2 to 3.4 GBs of that total RAM). This is barely the needed "real world" "working" minimum of RAM needed for Mavericks to run adaequately.
New iMacs ship with a much better 8 GBs of RAM.
If you can't offer/post proof with an actual install procedure for installing Mavericks on unsupported Macs, then I would suggest you stop posting your assertion that
"I have done it" garbage and post knowledge and info that is REAL and relevant to users of 2006 model Macs that need accurate info about this.

Can I build this kind of file with Reports?

I've not used Reports for anything other than formatted reports before, your help is appreciated.
What I'd like to do with a Report is build a file with very long lines (each 610 characters long). It is simply the result of a query that builds a fixed-width line file for export to another process. This file is currently built within Forms (writes to the client machine with TEXT_IO), but it would take hours and hours to write out the entire file and it times out after an hour. I need to find a better way.
Can Reports handle the long lines or will it wrap them? Will it build a text file like this?

You are running a report that takes many hours you say. That is typically a batch job. Place the output in a directory where the user has access, e.g. on a file server.
BTW: you can still use Reports if you want. Just make it a wide report. Reports has scheduling possibilities, report output location options etc.

Can't build FlexPMD 1.2

I can't seem to get FlexPMD 1.2 to build with Maven.

Pre Build Model in APO for food company

I am working in SNP environment using SNP optimizer to schedule 18 months plan for me. However i am not able to get the desired results from the optimize. I am not able to get the desired results due to following reasons :
Capacity constraints
Seasonal nature of bussiness. (75% of my volume ships between September to March and prebuild for the remaining parts of the year)
Mix of high volume and low volume items.
I am not able to replicate the pre build model in the optimizer.
I will really appreciate if any one can guide me to replicate the model in SNP.

A program enhancement allows you to exclude the relationship between a product and a reference material from the transfer.
The prerequisite for this solution is that this "reference material for materials that can be packaged in the same way" is not required in SCM and is not relevant for the transfer.
Procedure:
Start transaction SMOD. Display the components of enhancement CIFMAT01. On the following screen, double-click function module EXIT_SAPLCMAT_001 (user exit '001' of function group 'CMAT', program SAPLCMAT). In the program editor that appears, double-click include ZXCIFU01. You may have to create the inlcude again if necessary. Implement the system response you want in this include (follow the sample coding given below).
Example:
DATA: LS_MATKEYX TYPE CIF_MATKYX.
LOOP AT CT_CIF_MATKEYX INTO LS_MATKEYX.

Puma 10.1 Free Upgrade (Can we still get our hands on this upgrade)

Wondering if it is possible for Apple to make available the 10.1 (free upgrade) that was sent to those of us who purchased Cheetah about 10 years ago. This seems to be an update in high demand based on other posts and I can't seem to find it anywhere.
Trying to update an iBook which was once at 10.4. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Puma is the codename for Mac OS X version 10.1. Puma was the second major release of Mac OS X, and remains the only one to be a free upgrade to users of Mac OS X 10.0.

If you can identify the iBook (G3 colors?) model, in the MacTracker database,
it will show you what the last supported OS X version operating system is.
*No iBook G3 or G4 "maxxes out" at only 128MB RAM.* Do you have an early
PowerBook G3? Use the serial number indentification site to narrow down
what you have; and then use MacTracker download (if you can) or Everymac
to see your computer. The info is spelled out rather well.
Without more information about that computer, others can't look it up for you.
With the product Serial Number, you could narrow down the build model and
year of manufacture; and that can be used to tell which one it is and what it
can support in the way of software and additional hardware updates.
All early iBook G3 (colors) models can support Panther 10.3.9; given the
data available for each model that I have cited and provided links to here.
You can upgrade the RAM to at least 512+ MB more by adding one chip.
You may need to upgrade the capacity of the hard disk drive if it only has
a 6GB hard drive; since you should have more to run OS X adequately.
The Apple Support pages relating to iBook hardware are not hard to navigate;
I've done so many times when I have a need to look up specific information on
a model of computer; get the MacTracker database, if you have a computer
the download can be used in. Have you looked into their web page? It helps.
From what I can find, in several sources, there is NO iBook whose RAM total
is only 128MB. I've just read through the MacTracker app I have in front of me.
Anyway, depending on what model iBook you have, it can support a later OS
X than the early and obsoleted 10.0, 10.1, 10.2; some can go with 10.3.9.
And no early OS X versions are necessary to use whatever last one the iBook
you have supports. They do not build on one-another; they are independent
and retail versions. And auction sites or resellers such as welovemacs, & other
may be able to help locate full install versions of the last supported OS installer.
You will have to try & use the information you have to access the great sites
available online, to get more information. If you do not have a computer with
a recent enough operating system (including windows XP/vista or mac 10.3+)
to use the download of MacTracker's database, check out the iBook info at
the http://everymac.com web site. All of the iBook G3/G4 computers and their
supported OS versions are listed.

What color is the iBook? What processor version (speed) does it have?
Does it have an FireWire ports? If you can read System Profiler in either
the OS X in there, or OS 9, what is the capacity of the hard disk drive?
If you can find the Serial Number in the System Profiler, you can go online
and maybe find more about the computer from this (or other like it) site:

Anyway, short of having the computer at my desk to do these things,
I really can't come up with the exact information without identification.
But you can do it fairly easily; and then post back the info (do not post
the serial number, just the results of what matches it) and what best
matches your computer as defined by MacTracker download, or by
the web site info in Everymac.com. This should be way simple.
So, to summarize; the computer probably never had OS X 10.4.0 in it.
If so, someone would have had to upgrade the RAM and hard disk drive.
And Tiger would probably have available to whoever installed it, in the
form of a retail install DVD or 4 CD set (this last item is like vaporware.)
And I have no way of knowing which of those Mac OS discs may be
actual full installer discs, or if they're from other Mac's software kits.
As it stands, I can't identify exactly the computer you have; but you
can. The links to web sites where data is easily gleaned are posted.
You have the means to resolve the questions; so I am done with this.
At this point, it would almost be easier to get an officially refurbished
Apple computer from their online store web site; they include software.

You can paste images in all the common formats (PDF JPEG GIF PNG etc.) straight onto Keynote slides. Presumably one slide per image. However, you will want to impose size restrictions on the images you get sent: a certain number of pixels high and wide. Otherwise you will have to shrink them to fit them onto the iPad screen, and your customers may complain that small details (small print ?) can't be seen.
To start off, expect to create your presentations manually until you are familiar with how Keynote works, and have decided how to set the whole thing up. Once you have figured out a workflow, and learned how to cope with anything unusual your customers send you it will probably be possible to have Automator on a Macintosh look at incoming files and create a Keynote presentation for you.
From what you write I suppose you either need to be willing to learn a lot about iPads in a short time, or to hire someone who is.

Issue while creating Report Builder Model

We have a shared data source in SharePoint. This is to fetch data from SharePoint list.
Requirement is to create a Report Builder Model from this shared data source so that user can create reports using report
builder. But when we try to create report builder model, getting following error:

extension does not support model generation. ---> Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.ModelGenerationNotSupportedException: Data extension does not support model generation
Is it because of our data source is from SharePoint list?

According to your description, you created a shared data source to fetch data from sharepoint list. When you tried to create report model use the shared data source as data source, you got the error message.
According to my knowledge, Reporting Services includes the Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services SharePoint List Data Extension so that you can use SharePoint lists as a source of data in a report. Unlike other report data sources, there is no data extension
for a report model. We can use only one data source for each report model based on either the SqlClient Data Provider or the OracleClient Data Provider.
