Can WRG54G be a wireless repeater for WRG54GC or vice versa?

I have a WRG54GC on second floor off cable modem and works wirelessly to 2 PCs. However, I do not have signal on the first floor opposite side of house. I cannot move the access point as that's where the cable modem comes in. Can the other router I have be programmed to act as a wireless repeater? Or vice versa?. If not, does the WRG54G have a longer range than the WRG54GC?

well..the router only works as an access point..it cannot work as a wireless bridge or wireless repeater ...
in order to repeat the wireless signal , you can get a wireless range expander ...

  • Where can I find a wireless card for my early 2009 Mac Pro (MB871LL/A, MacPro4,1)?

Where on on earth can I purchase a wireless card for my Mac Pro?
Apple is of no help.  Their "Geniuses" told me that it is impossible for them sell one to me because Apple will not supply wireless cards or memory for previous generation computers.  That is totally absurd.  If I want to get a wireless card for my 2 year young computer I can't? I have to buy a brand new computer with one previously installed. Ridiculous!
Any help or suggestions would be of great value to me.

Well I found what I think is the correct card on B&H.
    Hopefully it works....

If you want to have the photos stored on an external HD, you probably should move them there in your operating system before you import into Lightroom.
But, if you don't yet own an external HD, you can import from the internal hard drive and later move the photos to wherever you want them to be, as long as you do it properly.

  • Wireless repeater for wrt320n?

    Hi all,
After five years my wrt54g failed and I replaced it with a fine working wrt320n, assuming my wap54g would also work as a wireless repeater on this new router. Wrong assumption, this only seems to work with a wrt54g.
Both devices run the latest Linksys firmware, and wired it works fine, but that's not an option.
So now I need a replacement AP that supports this function to expand the range of the wrt320n, OR another router that my old AP works on. Though I prefer to keep using the new router of course.
I searched the web and found devices like:
    http://www.hawkingtech.com/products/productlist.php?CatID=19&FamID=84&ProdID=394
but I can't be sure this will work.
WAP610n sounded promising, but it does not support wireless repeater mode. Also read about the wap4400n and several other products. Point is, I want to be sure it will work before I buy anything. Can anyone tell me what solution will work?
Thanks in advance for any reply!

I had the same problem and bought the Hawking unit. It does work, and setup is not to bad. They have a good Tech support when you run into trouble. The only problem I run into is when I power down the Linksys, the repeater losses its IP address and you have to reinstall. Takes abot 2 minutes, but is a pain.

  • Can I get a wireless adapter for my computer then wire my Xbox from that?

Hi everyone. I live in an apartment next door to my shop and we have internet there so i hooked up a wireless when I moved in so I wouldnt have to put internet in my apt to. I get signal because the building isnt that far away but it is alittle weak. I want to get a wireless adapter for the computer but i was wondering if i could get one that my xbox will connect to. Can you guys give me some advice.

Hi you can get wireless adapter WUSB300N for the desktop or WPC300N for the laptop. Both, work great with the wireless router WRT300N.I advice you to open setup page of router using 192.168.1.1 for doing the wireless settings where the wide channel set to 20 MHZ frequency & standard channel set it to 11.Also, if you wnat to enable wireless security make sure you choose WPA as it works great with the N - series linksys products ie., with the WRT300N router & N - series adapters.

  • Can PPC G5 boot from Intel disk copy (or vice versa)?

I'm aware that at the moment one cannot boot a PPC Mac from an Intel system drive, although I think I read somewhere that under Leopard this would change and that a PPC Mac would be able to boot from and Intel system and vice versa. My question is, will this be the same for Leopard Server?
I have a G5 server and would like to add a second (Intel) server to the rack and mirror two drives on the G5 together with a third on the Intel server so that if the G5 server fails, we could immediately boot up on the Intel server using the up-to-date mirrored drive already installed. Does anyone know if this will be possible with Leopard Server?
    Thanks,
    Keith

10.4.7 and newer (there is at least 10.4.8 too) is available as UB for both Intel and PPC.
Running a second Xserve as a fireWire targetmode machine/drive might be possible but doing it for long perods of time can't be good as at least the fans will run at top speed all the time.
Moving a boot drive from one machine to another should also present problem because the partition info on the drives must be different (?) : Apple Partition Map (PPC) vs GUID (Intel).
I can't tell you if it is possible to have one drive configured so you can boot both PPC and Intel machines from the same partition (the DVD can be booted on both of course).

  • Can't set up wireless connection for HP C4385 All-In-One with Windows 7.

    Hi guys,
I just got a new laptop with Windows 7 64 bit. I already had an HP C4385 All-In-One that I was using with my last computer. I have also just set up a new wireless network because I got a new cable provider. So basically I needed to do everything from the beginning.
When I inserted the setup CD and ran the setup program, it said I couldn't continue because my OS was not supported. I went to the HP website and found the solution, which was to plug the printer in via USB and let Windows Update find the latest driver. Ok, that's fine, the printer works now when the USB cord is plugged in.
To set up the wireless connection, the instruction manual says I need to do it through the network setup wizard p on the CD. But that brings me back to my original problem-- the setup CD won't work because it doesn't recognise Windows 7.
So my question is-- how can I update the network settings (SSID and key) on the printer without the network setup wizard?
Thanks for any help, this is really driving me crazy!

  • Can I purchase a wireless headset for Nano

I am interested in purchasing the newest version of  the iPod Nano, but does it work with a wireless headset?   If so, any recommendations on the most compatible model?

i hear ya when it comes to working out and getting the wire in the way...its a pain.
there are bluetooth headsets for talking only...
you have to get an A2DP transmitter to connect to your iphone then get bluetooth headset that goes with that transmitter, but can be expensive.
thanks to another member of these forums, i looked at the INFINXX AP23 by Brando cost $62US...its the smallest transmitter i could find and according to the website i was on, the MOTOROLA S9-HD bluetooth headset works great with it, which costs $130US.
you wont be able to make or receive calls using this headset though.

  • Can someone recommend a wireless card for AT&T's broad band service?

I'm in the process of switching to AT&T, since I just bought an iPhone. I'd like to use AT&T's broadband service on my MacBook
Pro. I was told the only 'Air Card', as they call it, is a USB card,
number AC881. Is there an express card available? Does anyone
have any experience with their broad band service?
    Thanks,
    Paul

some companies have express/32 cards, USB sticks or both... if you call AT&T or search their site then you will find your info there.. seems the person you talked to is correct.. i have the link [here|https://swot.sbc.com/swot/wirelessProductDetail.do?productOfferId=205379& Type=Wireless%20Phones]

  • *** Can't get my phone to recognize G5 and vice versa

I have a G5 with a newly acquired Bluetooth adaptor (D-Link DBT-100). I'm trying to get the G5 to recognize my bluetooth enabled cellphone but haven't had success. I'm using a Sony Ericsson Z600.
Any ideas on what to do? Is it likely settings on the phone or on the G5?
    Thanks in advance!

Do you see a small lock icon with an arrow encircling it on the status bar, to the left of the battery meter?  If so, the phone is in portrait lock mode.  Double click the home button to show the "multitasking" apps bar, slide it to the right and touch the portrait lock icon (at the left) to unlock.
If you don't see the portrait lock icon on the status bar, reset the phone: press both the home and on/off buttons for at least 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
FYI:  "Turn sideways" means landscape mode.
FYI2:  You can't have an iPhone 3G with iOS 5.1.1 as your profile says.  The highest iOS installable on the 3G model is 4.2.1.  Do you have an iPhone 3GS?

  • Can you open a keynote presentation in PowerPoint and vice versa?

I've opened a powerpoint presentation in Keynote but had trouble opening a Keynote in Powerpoint.  I wasn't sure if it was just that particular keynote or is does it just not work.  I know some formatting sometimes get lost.  What's the quality like when doing both?

    Sorry, just to be clear...

But you can open a powerpoint in Keynote.
    Correct?
    Yes correct
I'm not sure what you mean by "you must export to powerpoint in keynote to convert files".  How do you do that?
In Keynote;    File > Export > PowerPoint

  • If I buy a TV series on Apple TV, can I watch it on my Mac? And vice versa?

I want to purchase a TV series. I wanted to make sure I would be able to watch it on all my devices. Also, is it better to purchase through itunes on the Mac or through Apple TV? Or does it even make a difference?
    Thanks

In theory it should not matter whether you purchase on AppleTV or Mac (except for rentals which made on AppleTV are for that only), so long as you use the same AppleID you should be able to transfer purchases via USB or play from the cloud on recent iOS devices.
Movies are not available in the cloud in most countries except USA.
In practice I would recommend purchasing in iTunes.
I've bought a few individual TV Show episodes on the AppleTV - some have then allowed a 'Complete my Season' in iTunes, others haven't even though the indiviudal episodes list as purchased.
My preference tends to be to buy and download and backup via iTunes - and then stream locally from itunes or the cloud to AppleTV.
I think it's wise to make a local copy and backup of a show in case it gets removed from iTunes Store and is no longer available in the cloud.  A bit of me is starting to think however that for the small number of shows you might lose the monetary value might be offset by the times and cost of backup media if you absolutely had to purchase the show again in itunes (season changed subtly and no longer available) or on optical media.
