Can Xgrid controller and agent run on the same controller?

I am trying to setup an Xgrid on 2 Mac OS X Leopard computers. My intention was setting up one computer as a controller/agent and other computer as an agent so that I can have a grid with 2 agents running on different computers. I setup my grid with xgridctl and using Xgrid Admin, I am able to view the grid on a GUI program. In Xgrid Admin, I also see 2 computers (One is local, other one is remote computer) listed with their IP addresses. Only the remote computer's status is "Available". Local computer's status is "Unavailable".
I was about to conclude that you can not have controller and agent on the same computer but I decided to shoot an email to apple mailing list and expect some clarification.
Thanks in advance for the support,
Umut Tezduyar

You might get a better response to this in either the [OS X Server forum|http://discussions.apple.com/category.jspa?categoryID=96] or even the [Xgrid area!|http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=722]

  • Can DW CS6 and CC run on the same computer (was: Dreamweaver ?)

I teach using CS 6 in my classroom, if my students download Dreamweaver CC can they work in both versions or will this cause an issue.

The perpetual license version of DWCS6 is now 5.5 versions removed from "current" and in every new version there have been significant menu and functionality changes. If you are trying to "teach Dreamweaver" they will have a fairly difficult time following examples from DWCS6 in the latest version of DWCC 2014.1x (I don't have the latest and can't remember the exact build number)
That being said, Creative Cloud subscriptions allow users to install all the way back to DWCS6 Cloud. Currently, you can have DWCS6 Cloud, DW CC and DWCC 2014.1x all installed at the same time. So, if your students were to become Cloud subscribers, or if the school is installing software for them to use, the old version can be added under the standard subscription using the Creative Cloud Desktop app.

You don't need to buy an earlier version of iDVD to have it run with Lion. iDVD 7 has been with us since iLife 08.  Tell us in detail what you're experiencing.

  • Terminating ssl on a bigip, disco and oid running on the same machine

    hi,
please could someone point me in the right direction.
I have a working discoverer server 10.1.2 running on a host on 7777
I have a working 10.1.2 SSO and OIM 10.1.2 server running on the same host on port 7779
Everything works fine with OID authentication being forwarded to AD servers.
I'd like to put a bigip in front of the SSO server and terminate the SSL on the bigip, because this seemed to be simplest.......
The bigip docs say delete the SSO Server from the partner apps (this isn't possible from the SSO web interface, I can only view it).
I need to get discoverer to connect to the https://[bigip] for SSO authentication.
I know I need to use ssoreg.sh to do this, the combination of commands eg which homes to use I am having difficulty getting right.
    Thanks in advance,
    Robbo

And also, how I can interchange message between independent applications (or services) on the same computer? The same way you would interchange messages between them if they were running on different computers.
You already seem to understand the concept of clients and servers passing messages between each other. There is nothing to prevent a "server" from being a client of another server. And there is nothing to prevent a client from running on the same computer as a server.

  • How can my wife and I both use the same iCloud account for our respective iPhones so we can share information and music?

  • Can a "writer" and a "publisher" share the same copy of Contribute?

I will be having an intern writing copy, but then want a supervisor to approve and publish it using the same computer (and copy of Contribute). But when I try to import the second connection key, it threatens to override the first one. Is there a work-around so the intern/writer can leave a draft for the supervisor/publisher, who later signs into the website, approves, and publishes the pages?

Connecting to the same site with two different role in the same machine is not possible. It will ask for overridding the existing connection.
You can ask the writer to create the draft and send it for review to the Publisher by clicking the Send for Review button. So when the Publisher connects using his connection key, the draft sent by the Writer will appear in the pages panel. So he can review it and Publish the page.

  • Do Anchor controller and foreign controller have to run on the same code version?

    Hi All,
I have a 4402 anchor controller and 8 4402/4404 foreign controllers all running on code 4.2.61.0 for 1 year without any problem. All guest users are connected to the foreign controllers and then tunneled back to the anchor controller. Right now I need to replace a 25-AP license 4402 foreign controller with a 50-AP license 4402 controller. The new controller is running on code 7.0.116.0. I am wondering if the new controller can join the mobility anchor group so that guest users won't lose connectivity after the swap.
    Please advise. Thank in advance.
    Robert

  • Can 2 versions of itunes run on the same pc?

I have an ipod classic and an iphone 4. My iphone has been synced with itunes 11. When I tried to sync my ipod, itunes could not recognize it in ver.11 (it never shows up at all when I plug it in to the usb cable.) I uninstalled itunes on my PC and reinstalled ver 10 so that I could put new music on my ipod classic. Now itunes 10 won't allow me to sync my ipone, since I synced it on version 11.
Can I run separate itunes versions under separate users on the same HD? Or is that not possible? Any other solutions?
    Thanks

  • Can an editor and I work on the same project, at the same time in PPCC?

I'm trying to figure out if two people can edit a project in live time... I'm currently struggling with the 20gb cloud limit for my projects and I think I'm just going to bring an in house editor into the mix.
Can he and I edit the same project from a NAS drive?
    ---Trav

As far as I know, "regular" Premiere Pro does not have any provision for the kind of file locking/unlocking required for 2 people to edit the same project... so if YOU save an edit and your other person saves after you, your edit is going to be overwritten and lost

  • To see if you can have XP and Windows 7 on the same computer?

I am new to Forums so I don't know if I am in the right place to ask this question. Can you have the older XP and have Windows 7 programmed on to the same computer? This concerns using an older printer that requires XP.

    Hello Joseph Hill.
This question should be asked in the
    Windows Answers Forum.
Anyway, two Windows versions can coexist if you choose one of the following options
create a dual boot configuration: create 2 partitions on the hard disk, install Windows XP in the first one and Windows 7 in the second one; the Windows 7 boot loader will detect the Windows XP installation and configure the boot loader to display a menu
    that will allow you to choose the Windows version you want to start. You can then install and configure your printer in Windows XP, but it won't be available for you to use it in Windows 7;
install only Windows 7 and create a virtual machine: you'll install Windows XP in the virtual machine and then install and configure your printer in Windows XP.
    Bye.

  • Tecra M6-EZ6612: Bluetooth and WLan run at the same range of radio frequency

    Hi all
    I've a laptop that's Tecra M6-EZ6612 ...
i've got a problem that when i setup the bluetooth i've got a massege that says a conflict between the wireless and bluetooth ...
Both of them are working in same range of radio frequency !!!
So, i wonder how can i change the frequency range of the bluetooth device???!!!

Do not care about it. Bluetooth hardware v1.2 or v2.0 have a technology included called AFH="Adaptive Frequency Hopping" which tries to avoid any conflict with WLAN. It may only be a problem if you have a very old BT hardware (before 2004).

  • Windows 7 and OSx running at the same time

I have both Windows 7 and OSx Lion installed on my macbook pro.
If I run Windows 7 with VMware Fusion would i need more RAM so my laptop could run faster. or would the RAM not effect at all?

Yes more RAM would always be better up to a Point. About 8GBs is the sweat spot.

  • Can FMS 4.5 be run on the same server as Cpanel?

I am looking at using the FMS 4.5 to take ingress of RTMP live streams and publish HTTP Live streams to a content delivery network.  I see that FMS 4.5 has an apache build to do the http part,  We have two dedicated servers running Cpanel/Webhost Manager that are litely loaded.
    1) Could we accomplish this using the apache that is part of Cpanel?
    2) Or, does the FMS need its own apache using port 80?
    Thanks

    hi,
You may very well customise your external apache to work along with FMS to use the HTTP live streaming features.. However there are some Apache's version specific things that you would need to take care of..
I have a personal blog post for "how to configure external apache for HLS".. you may check it here:
