Can You Add The Widescreen Filter Without Stretching Video In iDVD ?

I'm sure I have asked this in the past but cannot find the answer and my memory is lousy!
I have added the Widescreen Filter to all the clips in a normal 4:3 DV sequence and everything looks OK.
I export the QT Movie and when viewed in QT Player it still looks OK as a letterboxed 4:3.
However, when I import it into iDVD or DVDSP I cannot stop it from being ridiculously stretched.
I have tried setting projects as 4:3 and 16:9 in iDVD but the video always appears in the preview window badly stretched.
Is it possible to make it appear as 16:9 without distorting the image?

However, now when I preview a movie (with the WS filter) in iDVD (or Simulate it in DVDSP) the image receives extra stretching.
Is it just that it normally appears like that in the preview but will play OK when burned to a DVD ?

Updating the iOS will Install the most current Version.
Suggest you use iTunes on your Computer to Update from 6 to 7.

Are you talking about trying to add your desktop to Flash Player's trusted locations? If so, you use the "Advanced" tab on the Local Settings Manager to designate folders and files as trusted. (Full path is Advanced->Developer Tools->Trusted Location Settings.) Can you extract the audio from a music video?

Some of my favorite songs were purchased from Itunes as music videos. (Because they are also my favorite videos.) Now I'm trying to figure out how to move those songs to the iPod +without having to buy the songs as just songs!+ It's been very frustrating. "Create iPod or iPhone version" doesn't convert to anything useful for a Shuffle. How do I extract the audio from the video?
Or do I have to buy the same music over again?

Can you change the music video's *Media Type* to Music from under the Options tab of the *Get Info* window for the track in iTunes?
I'm not sure if you can, but hey its at least worth a try. It's all I have though.
Otherwise, this is not possible via iTunes. The only way you would be able to extract the audio is through the help of some third party application. Not sure how simple or complicated the process is.

You can add Value labels to the series to show the numerical value at each data point. The control is in the Series section of the Chart Inspector (see green arrow).
If you are asking about text labels, such as the "Test 1", "Test 2", etc. in column A of the table, You can add these by copy/paste into a text box placed in front of the chart, or use a formula ( =Table 1::A1 ) to transfer the text into a single cell table placed appropriately on the chart.
Using single cell tables will allow automatic updating of the label if the content of the Table 1 cell(s) changes. Neither method will automatically reposition the label if there's a change in the data feed to the chart.

Can you move the aperture library without losing images?

my library is defaulted to imac..
but can you house it on external drive..I know, yes, as a referenced library.
but I already have some [lots] images in library.
can I move the library and maintain contents?
also..
once you import into library, is the original image in folder it was in before? or it's deleted?
just trying to see what will work best for my needs?
as I sometimes travel/live in 2nd home and just carry external drive

Creating what Ap[erture calls a 'Vault' seems like the easiest way to do it.
Here is the complete Help section on backing up your library.

Can you use the iPhone wirelessly without activating AT&T?

FIrst, I HATE AT&T, the coverage is awful and I am very happy with Verizon. I would like to use the iPhone as more of a PDA, and having a PDA with wireless connectivity would be great.
Do you have to activate the phone plan, or can you just use it with a wireless connection?
Any chance they will eventually offer it with other carriers?

Well you can be sure Apple will not make a product for Verizon for at least five years, as that is how long its contract lasts with ATT. That contract prevents Apple from allowing the iPhone to work on anybody else's network, and from making any phones for non-GSM networks. The only other GSM network in the US is T-Mobil. SO I suspect Apple can make a non iPhone for T-Mobile before its deal with ATT expires.
Also, you can try going to ATT and telling them you want the iPhone, however, you will not provide them your social security number, and ask are there any options available to you. They may tell you that you can use the iPhone as a Go-Phone (they are not adversing this, but it is in their policy manual). After a month, cancel the go phone service (as there is no contract). Also, ATT generally allows you to cancel a contract with 30 days. So they might just let you cancel the contract, and your iPhone will probably still work (the non phone features).

Can you use the sports theme without having to use all the graphics??

I want to just use the "card bio", "team A vs Team B", and "score" animation. Is that possible? For instance, i don't like the opening to the theme so can i take that off and just use the other animations?

You can create all the parts you need in your trailer. Then you can select your trailer in the Project Library and click FILE/CONVERT TO PROJECT. You will now have an iMovie project that can be edited with all the capabilities of iMovie.

Can you disable the SSID broadcast without turning off WIFI?

Is there a way to disable the SSID broadcast without disabling WIFI altogether? Prior to the 4.3 IOS upgrade I could keep my WIFI enabled and when at home, the phone would automatically switch to my hi speed WIFI. The new upgrade now turns your phone into a WIFI/MYFI hotspot and broadcasts your phones SSID to the world.

Only if you have enabled and setup personal hotspot settings in your network settings, AND have the hotspot conneciton active AND are sharing the hotspot connection via wifi.
If you do not have Personal Hotspot features enabled or active, your iPhone is not broadcasting any network connection ID information, with or without wifi enabled.
P.S. according to the iOS release notes, even if you leave Hotspot active, it will stop broadcasting the SSID after a timeour with no connections, since the HotSpot feature turns off after a short timeout with no activity.

Can you set the default Filter under Admin tab in UCSM?

Such a minor and trivial question but just curious. It defaults to 'Faults, Events, and Audit Log'. A majority of the time that's all you'll need after initial setup, but I was wondering if I could somehow set the filter to 'All' as the default view.

I use different browers' homepage for different email accounts. The older versions of Firefox had a picture of the fox in the upper left of the screen, so if I clicked the home button, I knew I was using the email account associated with Firefox. I like knowing which browser I am using, and that picture of the fox was a great way of my knowing I was working with Firefox.

Can you power the iphone down without being able to swipe the screen?

My iphone's screen will not respond to touch so i tought that if I were to power cycle the phone the problem might clear up. But how do you power cycle without the screen working?

To power down, press and hold both the home button and lock button until the screen goes black. To reset, press and hold both buttons until the apple logo shows up on the screen.

Elements 7 has a really cool brush selection tool. I could really use it in CS4, 'cause now I have to move my file back and forth between programs.

There's two features you should look into, quick mask and quick selection. I think you'll find quick selection to be the feature you're after.
