Can you block a number from ringing, however still get voice mail.  Is that possible???

There are some folks that call so much and it seems at just the wrong time.  I'd like to able to block them so my phone doesn't ring and yet, still get the voice mails that I can check at a later date when it's convenient.   Is there a way to do that???

Thank you. I thought there was a feature on the phone that allowed for that to happen.
My next question is, however. If I'm texting another party, and the delivered sign is not shown. Is it a possibility that my phone may have been blocked from receiving any texts?
Or, is it possible that the text message did not go through, yet?
Thanks again for answering my inquiry.
Dawn.

I can't find the option to shorten the number of rings before going to voice mail, any ideas?

It's preset by some phone software but you still may have some sound settings for the answer time. Go to settings and check under call answer settings.

can you regulate the number of rings of the iphone 5 before the call goes 'missed call' and goes to voicemail?

That would be an option set by your cellular provider. You would need to check with them to determine if this can be changed.

  • I blocked a number, but yet i still get calls?

I blocked my ex's number, but yet i still get calls by him. I blocked him about 5 days ago and nothing happened but today i got 6 calls in the matter of 30 minutes. And when i check my recent calls, his name or number isnt there. Can anyone tell me if this is just a glitch in the system or what is going on! Thank you!

All blocking does is to prevent the phone from ringing by sending the call to voicemail. They can still leave a message in voicemail.
There is no way to actually block a call, this is something that may be done on the carrier level.

  • Can you block your number for texting, so dont show in ppls phone record?

usually in the phone record show the number who is text you and the phone you sent a message. But since a week a go don't show the number of the person, and I received tons of messages everyday, but  on my phone record of text messages don't reflect the phone number. Is a way you can block your number??? so dont registrer in the phone record?

I understand the importance of viewing numbers in your message details hmaldonado. There is an option for individuals to block their number if it is restricted. What do you see on your phone for these messages you are referring to? Is this a number that is stored in your phonebook? Have you checked My Verizon online? Can you see calls from this person? What specific task are you trying to accomplish with this number? Here's how to access My Verizon. Select My Usage, then Usage details. http://bit.ly/xB4iTc

You can also shoot a person in front of a greenscreen and make them actually look like they're in another movie, if that's what you're asking. Similar to this:

  • Can you block a 3GS from being restored?

I am going to loan out my extra 3GS to a coworker but I want to ensure they cannot (whether intentionally or accidentally) RESTORE the phone through iTunes.  Is there a way to block this?  (was recently updated with latest operating system - don't recall the name)

I was referring to the passcode needed to unlock the phone, which any user would have to know to use the phone.  When attempting to restore on a computer other that the one it's previously been synced to, the passcode has to be entered.
However, even if the user didn't know the passcode, he could restore by putting the phone in recovery mode, which isn't difficult.  Effectively there is no way to absolutely block restoring other than to NOT lend the phone to anyone you don't completely trust.

how i can block particular number from my contacts list please guide me because even true caller software is also not supporting iphone

As Ocean20 said, there is no official function that does this built in. What you could do however is to find an app that mute calls that come from "blocked" numbers.

HOW CAN I BLOCK SMS MESAGES FROM AN SPECIFIC PHONE NUMBER ON MY I PHONE5, THANKS

You can't. Contact your carrier and ask them if they provide such a service. Most carriers do not, unless the text messages are threatening or harassing, but you can ask.

  • HT5463 Can you block calls from certain numbers

Can you block calls from certain numbers

You can also make a contact for those numbers and assign a silent
ringtone to them. The calls will still come in, but you will not hear them
and they will eventually go to vocie mail if you have it set up.
You must do this for each number as wildcards are not accepted in
Contacts, but all the numbers can be listed in one contact.
As Ocean20 has stated above, true call blocking is a function of
    your wireless provider.
