You need a headhone amplifier, an MBP won't drive those very well.

  • Can i boost the volume on an ipad2?

I have just returned from a trip to the US. I had a terrible time trying to listen to music or watch videos stored on my iPad2, even with a pair of earphones with noise cancellation capability. I have to set my iPad volume at maximum and still struggle to hear anything. Is there any way of increasing the iPad volume, or boost it without having to buy an in-line amplifier?

Thanks Trebor, I also have a docking facility for my iPad2 that boosts the volume and sends the sound through 2 speakers -there are quite a lot of such devices on the market. However, my problem is not docking the iPad but rather the use of earphones to listen to the iPad on a plane.
I do a lot of travelling and I like to listen to my podcasts or videos while sitting on a plane. I have no problem listening to my iPhone with my noise-cancelling earphones, but when I switch over to the iPad, the volume level -even at full- is awful. The work-around solution is of course to get an amplifier between the iPad and the earphones. Unfortunately, earphones do not come with amplifiers, so the next step is to buy a purpose-built one.
This suggests to me to be either a design fault with the iPad2, or my particualr iPad is faulty. I am hoping to get feedback from you and others to determine how widespread this problem is, and if it is so, then we should be getting back to Apple directly for a solution.

  • Can you change the volume display at bottom of screen to the song time instead?

I have just bought a new Ipod Nano and really like it!  The only problem I'm having is when playing songs the bottom of the screen shows the volume level rather than how far it is through the song in time (like the old nanos used to show).  I find it really annoying not knowing at a quick glance how much more of a song is left to play.
I know this info is displayed by double tapping the screen (although it is only shown temporarily).  Is there a way of changing the volume level icon at the bottom of the screen to display the song time instead?
    Thanks in advance.

There is not.  You can let Apple know how you feel about it using the form on this page.

  • How can you fix the volume on your iphone

I just recieved my new Iphone 4S and I have the volume on the side of the phone turned up, but I can hardly hear anyone I am talking to

First, YOU STOP SHOUTING.  It's considered rude, and many people will not respond to screamers.
By wipe, do you mean erase all songs in the iPod app on your phone?  If so, you sych the phone to your computer and uncheck the sych music tab.  Your music will synch off your phone.
Since this is a very basic function of the phone, I suggest you read the User Guide.  The link to the UG is below.

  • Can you adjust the volume of the alert sound, iPhone5?

    iPhone5.
Can the volume and length be adjusted for alert sounds?  For instance, I would like to set an alert or alarm that rings LOUDER than my phone normally rings.

but you can't lengthen it unfortunately.
Bear in mind, the screen is the largest consumer of power.

  • How can you change the volume level????

    Hi all:
I don't know if this is possible but sometimes I want to reduce or increase the volume level of several clips (10 or 20) by the same amount while they are linne up in the timeline, they are individual clips arranged back to back during the edit.  I want to either up the volume by 10db or down 10db from baseline 0db.
Do I have to do it induvidually or is ther a way to select them and apply the change to all of them at one time.????
    Your input is appreciated
    Thanks,
    AppleLou

And to go a step further, put them all into a Compound Clip, and you can apply a single filter to them all at once, plus keyframe your audio over time to them all at once.

  • How can I boost the volume so I can hear a movie on a plane

I cannot hear movies while I am on a plane using MacBook Pro or my ipad. I have tried using the apple ear buds and sony noise cancelling headset. Will a headphone amp help?

I actually bought an App in the Mac App Store called Boom (sorry, I don't name these things).  It was well reviewed, and it really boosts the sound out of my MacBook Pro.  I can actually watch a movie listening to it through the MBP speakers.
It doesn't use up much RAM, and it really works.  And no, I don't get a kickback for recommending it, but I can tell you it's changed my viewing and listening experience with the MBP.
A headphone amp also works, but it's just more junk to carry.

  • Can you change the color pallet in Logic Pro X?

    Hi there,
Is it possible to change the colors on the color pallet in Logic Pro X?
They are too dark for me.
    I would appreciate your replies.
    Thanks and cheers,
    GJ

    @ Eriksimon:
    Thanks for your help.
Now, I understand that it's a little different. Basically, you can change the values (ranging form 1 to 360) for the 24 upper fields of the Color Palette. (Logic derives the bottom two rows from the top one, making it darker). These values refer to the Hue-color circle. So, you can't change the saturation or lightness ... that's what I was looking for.
Anyhow, I did change some of the values. In this case it starts with 360 ("real" red) for the first region (01), followed by 15 for the second, 30 for the third etc., stretching over the whole spectrum. (The original values range from 14 to 312 only.)
    Thanks again for your hints.

  • Can you reset the hardware assignments in Logic Pro?

Somehow I have messed up the hardware assignments for the B3 plugin. Is there any way to initialize the hardware assignments? Thanks!

  • Can you control the volume of individual songs on CDs you burn?

I’ve got one song that’s very “hot”- plays a lot louder than the others. I’m able to control the individual volume through the Info/Options/Volume Adjustment during playback, but when I burn a CD the playback remains unchanged- one track is still too loud. Any ideas?

  • Can you replace the keyboard of a MacBook Pro without replacing the logic board?

I had a bit of water damage on my MacBook Pro. I took it to the IT department, and he got the computer to work. The logic board and hard drive were intact. Here's the issues I'm having: the keyboard is next to  destroyed. The buttons barely respond, and when they do, it's random letters that type, and they type without me pressing anything. I asked him about replacing the keyboard and what that may cost me. He told me that replacing the keyboard would mean replacing the logic board because they're integrated together, so essentially, that would mean replacing the entire laptop itself. I've been looking on here, and have seen that people offered other uninformed customers to go look for replacement costs for the keyboard, leading me to believe that it is replaceable without replacing the logic board. Can anyone confirm or deny this claim? I would greatly appreciate it. I gave the laptop to the IT department for the weekend. He's going to dry and dry it out over the next few days, so hopefully that works. I don't know what generation macbook this is, but I got it brand new in early October. Thank you very much in advance.

Why? Maybe he's ignorant and/or just didn't care to look into it? IDK
Look at the illustrated installation directions at same site. You may be able to do it yourself.
Overlooking details: with spillage, things can go wrong that aren't immediately apparent. Just something to keep in mind. No one can tell you if that's the case with yours or not.
