Can you Call qdbus?

Hi
After allot of upgrades, lot of .pacnew files resolving, a boot partition resize and grub reinstallation, I had allot of problems which is hardly surprising but I solved them all except one: when I login to KDE through KDM or GDM I get the good old error message
Could not start D-Bus. Can you Call qdbus?
And yes, I can call qdbus. I was seeing this error before I switched to systemd, but this was long time ago and then it was working until yesterday.
I can start kde by starting X from the console and then typing
DISPLAY=0 startkde &
but not from a display manager. Gnome starts fine.
I'm running out of ideas. Where should I look?

After
ln -s /usr/bin/qdbus /qdbus
I can login into kde and I do not get the above message. But kde get unresponsive from time to time when I switch between windows. I had this problem more than a year ago and was using xfce in the meantime. Does anyone have any ide this time what causes this error?

    What is your operating system & version?
    Define "cannot" - what happens when you try?
    Try downloading the offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

    Can you call an on-demand plsql application process from a page validation?
    Thank you,

    Gayle:
    I don't think you can do that. You could consider moving the ODP into the database as a stored procedure . The stored procedure can then be referenced in the ODP and in your validation code as well.

  • Can you call a function module from within a smartform?

    I was told that yu can not call a function module from a smartform - that does not make sense to me because you can do tons of ABAP within a smartform.
    Well - can you?

  • Can you call a public method in a custom skin?

    I made a custom skin for a button. In the skin there's a method to change some text. Can I call this method from my application?
    I get an error message when I try to call it like a normal object:
    uploadNewBtn.setNewPhotosLabel("test");
    Error 1061: Call to a possibly undefined method setNewPhotosLabel through a reference with static type spark.components:Button.

    You said it yourself, the method is inside skin not the HostComponent (button in your case). Obviously you cannot call it.
    There is a skin protperty inside SkinnableComponent, but it is typed as UIComponent so you still cannot cal it on the skin without casting. I don't know your use case, so in theory you either push the text/label from the host towards the skin, or you listen or bind from the skin on the hostcomponent.

    Online Numbers are for inbound calls from phones. Outbound calling to phones requires a call plan or Skype credit.

  • Can you call a class method as an RFC function

    Hi
    I would like to know whether it is possible to instantiate a class in another system via RFC and then call a method eg. cl_abap_typedescr=>describe_by_name, of that class in the other system like you can with an RFC enabled function.
    Thanks
    Faaiez

    Its not possible to call a method like RFC.
    What you could do is write a RFC and within that instantiate the class and call desired method .
    And now you can call this RFC from the other system.

  • Can you call a dreamweaver layer/iframe from a flash rollover?

    I have a flah heading with rollovers and the body of the web page is done in iframes and layers, can I hide and open layers with the rollover in the flash part of my web page
    thanks
    Jbargs

    Hi Ned
    I must be dense this year and last,
    Anyway I have this code in my action for the rollover and it works fine it calls the web page and replays the flash movie and you need to wait until things finish to go on. I am trying to have the same flash movie and just change the HTML page in a layer or Iframe by using the rollover action to call the layer / Iframe by name, it would need to close the page and open the next page.
    The example looks like to me that this is sending data to a HTML Form.
    After looking at the code I would guess it would be better in an layer which you can show and hide???
    I have not done this for a long time and this just keep getting better and I seem to be left behind.
    on (rollOver) {
         gotoAndPlay("s1");
    on (rollOut, releaseOutside) {
        gotoAndPlay("s2");
    on (release) {
        if(_root.url2==""||_root.url2=
    =undefined){
            getURL("http://ctlalt.com/index_about.html", "_self")
            else{
                getURL(_root.url2,"_self")

  • Urgetn - Can you call a url from a workflow?

    Hey,
    Does anyone know if you can call a url from a workflow?
    Your urgent attention would be grateful.

    I have done this in a form. You could put a manual action to call the form then display the url (Technical Reference 3-14)
    <Field>
    <Display class='Link'>
    <Property name='name' value='Request
    Group Access'/>
    <Property name='URL'
    value='user/processLaunch.jsp?newView=true'>
    <Property name='id' value='Group Request
    Process'/>
    </Display>
    </Field>
    Hope this helps

  • I need to have your help movung my bookkmarks.Can you call me so I can explain the problem?

    I have paid " OBOWL " to clean -up my computer and reset it,but they could not restore my old bookmarks list like I had before. I told them in the past that I would go to a restore point to get them, but as I suspected, they told me this would mess up all the work that they had done. They said these files were from Firefox and I would have to see if you could help me. Please give me a call at xxx-xxx-xxxx. Wayne Overby I would like to know if you are receiving this message.

    Firefox keep everything in firefox profile, if you didn't delete that folder, you can able to restore your bookmarks, password etc.

  • Can you call a built-in labview VI using teststand directly? For "File last modified"...

    I am trying to use Teststand to retrieve the "last modified" timestamp property for the sequence file that is running. The purpose is to determine whether a modification has been made since the last time a sequence with the same file name was run. The "saved count" property is not a viable option since mulitple people may be working on the same sequence, and in theory two people could have started with the same sequence file, made a change, and then saved (making the saved count property the same even though they are now different sequences).
    So, unless someone knows of an easy way to do get this info (file last modified information) within Teststand, here's my question:
    LabVIEW has a built-in VI that provides this information (Programming Pallete->File IO->Advanced File Functions->File/Directory Info). This gives a "last mod" output which is exactly what I need. However, this is in Labview, not teststand where I prefer to call it and retrieve the information. I could easily just place this built-in VI into a new blank VI, and then call that with TestStand, but that seems very redundant. The built-in version is exactly what I need.
    Is there a way to call this VI directly from TestStand without having to put it into a blank VI and save it as a seperate file? I can't seem to locate it within any of the labview directories or libraries, but maybe I'm not searching for the right name. Is there an easy way to find a VI on the harddrive that is on one of the buit-in labview palletes ?
    This seems like such a simple thing but it's giving me a lot of grief!
    Thanks!

    That is one of the built-in functions and not a stand-alone VI and the best way to call it is to create a VI with it on the block diagram.

  • Can you call a procedure inside another procedure and how many?

    Ok. I have 3 procedures. I would like to call 2 of the from inside one, but I would like them to be in order.
    So,
    procedure1 // this is in db1
         call procedure2
                this collects, and inserts data into table 2 from db1
                this must be run first
         call procedure3
               this update the table1, and table2 from db2, and db3
               this must be run second
         finish procedure1
               this also updates table1 and table2 from db1 and db3
               this must be run third
    procedure1 end;or should I call a function
    procedures 2, and 3 have there own dblinks to other dbs to gather datat, procedure1 is in the same db.
    the procedures dont have to be like above. If you want to run proc3, and call proc1, and proc2 first so be it. Just an example

    create or replace myPackage
    is
    procedure1;
    procedure2;
    procedure3;
    end myPackage;
    create or replace myPackage body
    is
      procedure1 is
      begin
        -- call 2
        procedure2;
        -- call 3
        procedure3;
      end procedure1;
      procedure2 is
      begin
        do_something_here;
      end procedure2;
      procedure3 is
      begin
        do_something_here;
      end procedure3;
    end myPackage;
    /* now run the procedure1 from sql*plus */
    execute myPackage.Procedure1;Message was edited by:
