Can you change the color of menu buttons dynamically?

Post Author: DanH

Hello, Newbie Here,
Built my first Xcelsious front end and linked to two personnel databases.  Everything works just fine.  The outputs on this particular visualization generate completion statistics for 12 divisions and a 13th for combined.  Don't know enough about the software yet to know whether I can make the menu buttons appear in red for those that have not accomplished a 100% compliance to the task being tracked?  This would make it visually easier for upper management to click directly on the division menu buttons in red, rather than have to click on all of them to see which divisions haven't achieved completion.  Also, wouldn't hurt to be able to turn the other menu buttons green for those that have completed.  Any ideas are appreciated, really scratching my head at the moment.
Thanx,
Dan

  • Can you change the color of the page?

    Can you change the color of the page using In Design CS5.5 ?
    How?

    Are you intending to print a color onto the page to change the color or perhaps you need a colored background for onscreen output? Or are you planning on printing on already-colored stock?
    For the former, use Scott's suggestion, for the latter edit the Paper swatch.

  • Can you change the color of a Generator background?

    Dumb question, but how do you change the color of a Generator background?
    Not seeing the option in the inspector.

    On that note, I want to correct my earlier post saying that you'd have to go to Motion if there was no published parameter to adjust the color of the generator.
    Nothing would stop you from adding a Colorize filter directly in FCP X.
    Of course, if there was more to the generator than just a background, the Colorize effect would impact all parts of the Generator, whereas in Motion you'd have the ability to isolate the particular layer you want to affect.
    The main reason to go to Motion in this changing the generator color scenario would be to publish the Shape Color(if the background was a shape) or publish the Colorize filter(both remap white and black) so that you could easily modify the color of any future instance of that Generator copy.

  • Can you change the color of a row in a SUD

    Is it possible to change the color in a selected row in a SUD? I have multiple tables in my SUD were the user can select multiple rows from each table. The problem is that when the user selects rows in another table the last one selected in the previous table is not hi-lighted. I thought that if I change the color of the row when selected the user can see all the selections once he/she goes to another table.
    Thanks,
    AJL

    Hi AJL,
    There is no way to color rows of the table control in a SUDialog. You could consider using the ActiveX container control and using the Microsoft ActiveX table control, which might have that functionality. Note though, that then you need to either ensure that control is always on all your client machines or make provisions for it to be installed/registered.

  • Can you change the color of an image without changing it in photoshop first?

    I have created a link for Indesign using Photoshop. It is basically a plain black graphic that is placed over an aerial to highlight the represented water. It is possible to change the color of this graphic without actually going back into photoshop?

    Another option is to make a path around the image, so that you have a vector shape with full control over fill and transparency.
    You can do the path in Ps, save as clipping path, bring into InD, position, convert clipping path to frame, select and delete content, fill, fade...
    It may be easier to do the path in InD, but perhaps accurate positioning over the area you're after would be an issue.

  • Can you change the color pallet in Logic Pro X?

    Hi there,
    Is it possible to change the colors on the color pallet in Logic Pro X?
    They are too dark for me.
    I would appreciate your replies.
    Thanks and cheers,
    GJ

    @ Eriksimon:
    Thanks for your help.
    Now, I understand that it's a little different. Basically, you can change the values (ranging form 1 to 360) for the 24 upper fields of the Color Palette. (Logic derives the bottom two rows from the top one, making it darker). These values refer to the Hue-color circle. So, you can't change the saturation or lightness ... that's what I was looking for.
    Anyhow, I did change some of the values. In this case it starts with 360 ("real" red) for the first region (01), followed by 15 for the second, 30 for the third etc., stretching over the whole spectrum. (The original values range from 14 to 312 only.)
    Thanks again for your hints.

  • Can you change the color of selected text in word?

    I use Word 2010, and when I select text it is always blue, is there a way to change the color?

    I use Word 2010, and when I select text it is always blue, is there a way to change the color?
    My earlier posting was an error.
    I apologize.
    You seem to be saying that the default colour for text is blue.
    You need to change:-
    Normal.dotm
     - to change the default colour of text.
    In order to change the default colour of text take the following steps (that were tested on Windows 7 and Office 2007 - the process should be
    similar, if not identical, for yourself):-
    1. Open a new blank document (this should
    have the default text as blue).
    Save that document with a new name for example:-
    c:\word\testing_aug_25_2014_2
    2. In the above document:-
    Insert tab
    Text group
    Click on the drop down arrow to the lower right of:-
    Quick Parts
     - then click on:-
    Field . . .
    The:-
    Field
     - window should open.
    3. In the:-
    Field
     - window in the field called:-
    Field names:
     - scroll down to:-
    Template
     - and click on that option so that it's highlighted in blue.
    Now, towards the top right hand corner of the same window, click in the box called:-
    Add path to file name
     - so that it has a tick (check mark) in that box.
    Click:-
    OK
    The file name of the template should now be inserted into your document.
    On my machine this was:-
    C:\Users\user_name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates\Normal.dotm
    The above path might be different for you.
    4. I saved my document at this point.
    5. Now open the file called:-
    C:\Users\user_name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates\Normal.dotm
    A document should open on your screen (still with blue text) and with:-
    Normal.dotm
    - in the middle of the Title Bar at the top of the screen.
    Highlight all of the text in the document so that it's (for example) black.
    Save the file.
    6. Close all open documents in WORD and
    close WORD itself.
    7. Now open a new document and its default
    text should be set to the colour that you applied at step 5. above (I used black at that point).
    Does that resolve your problem?

  • Can you change the color of highlighted text?

    I want to know if there's a way to change the color of text that has been highlighted, not the highlight itself. I know that to change the color of the highlight itself, you go to the Appearance Preference Pane and change the highlight from there, but I want to know if there's a way to change it so that when I highlight text, the text itself changes color for higher contrast against a dark colored highlight. I think MSWord does it, I have some memory of working on Windows computers back in the day working like that, is there a way to make that sort of change on a Mac?

    No, I know how to change the color of the HIGHLIGHT, I want to change the color of the TEXT that's being highlighted, so if, for example, I highight black text with a dark red/blue/black highlight color, the text goes white for greater contrast and doesn't turn invisible for lack of contrast. Is there a way of doing that?

  • Can you change the color behind the wallpaper on an iPad?

    Hi, there! As I'm sure other people have noticed, finding wallpapers in the 768x1024 resolution can be rather... difficult. So instead of being picky, I'd rather just find ones that might not quite fit and have the iPad do the work for me.
    That being said, it's quite ugly always having a black background behind my images when they don't fill up the whole screen (particularly on a white iPad). Is there some way to change the color behind my image?
    Thanks!

    Ahh, I see. How unfortunate. ):
    When I attempt to zoom where I'd like, it often isn't smart enough to do it properly after I select home/lock screen and pushes it to an awkward part of the screen (like to the bottom cutting it half off). I guess my big problem is just wanting it to look good both horizontal and vertical.
    Thanks, anyway. (:

  • Can you change the color of a raised triangle decoration programmatically?

    Placed a raised triangle decoration on the Front Panel.
    I want it to change color based on certain conditions (value ranges).
    I cannot create a Property Node or anything else on this object.
    I wanted to change its color based on the value of an event.

    On the diagram page of the example, click on the "Help" selection on the tool bar and make sure that "Show Context Help" is enabled. Now hovering your mouse over the components will show help for them. If you click on the help window's "Detailed Help" it will provide more information on these functions. They are located on the "Application Control" tool panel. You can copy, or drag and drop them from the example to where you want to use them as well. The first one, "VI" provides a "reference" the green wire, for the vi's panel, the second one "Pnl", provides an array of references to all the "decorations" on the front panel, which in this case is only the triangle. It gets more interesting if there are other decorations.

  • How can i change the color of menu shortcuts like in photoshop?

    Hello!
    In Photoshop there's this nice feature in which you can edit every shortcut (like open file, close, palettes, etc.) of the menus (file, edit, etc.) so they have a color and they're easily recognisable. How can I do the same on other mac program? I'd like e.g. my "special character" palette in Pages to be colored, so I don't have to go to "Help" to find it...And some other useful stuff... Is it possibile? Thank!
    Luca

    Has to be written into the app by the developer. Send them a suggestion to add such a feature.

  • Can you change the color of the links in FM HTML5 Output?

    I edited the style mapping in FM and it didn't work. I edited every CSS I can find in the output folders and subfolders (by opening in Notepad). The links are all still blue. Any ideas?

    I figured out how to do it. My FM book has four chapters. My hypertext links and cross references are formatted with a character style named link. When creating the HTML5 output, FM made a folder for each chapter containing (among other things) a css file for the chapter. I added the the span and the link definition see below) to the css for each chapter (adding it to main.css or jqueryui-custom.css did not work). I'm happy that it works, but it means that I need to add it to the css after generating the HTML5 output (FM overwrites the css files every time you generate the output). If anyone has a better idea, I'd love to hear it!
    span.FM_link {
            font-style:      italic;
            font-weight:     bold;
        color: #4c4c4c;
            text-decoration :  none  ;
            letter-spacing:  -0.03em;
    A:link {

        text-decoration: underline;
    A:visited {
        color: #3a3a3a;
        text-decoration: underline;
    A:hover {
        color: #000000;

  • Can you change the color of an iPhone 4s?

    I have an iPhone 4s black. Sometimes I cant find it because of the color. Is it possible to get an iPhone 4s in white for no extra charge if I trade in my black one?

         The iPhone 4S is a SUPER awesome smartphone demetrin14! I, too, am a fan of the white iPhone. I bought my sister one for her birthday and she loves it! While the black iPhone and the white iPhone are the same device based on performance, the color does make it a completely different unit, as far as inventory purposes. In order to get the white iPhone, it would have to be purchased. If you are eligible for an upgrade then you can get a white iPhone at the two year pricing. If not then it can be purchased at retail value.  On the bright side, I just had a lightbulb idea! Have you considered getting a colored case? This way you have the choice of the color that you want without incurring the cost of purchasing the same phone again. If interested then we can shop together on My Verizon.
    Thank you...

  • Can you change the color of the animated blue selection outline that appears when selecting comments

    Hi all,
    Does anyone know how to change the default colour of the animated container box that indicates the selected comment in a PDF's Comments List.
    I get PDFs back from clients with sometimes with 30 small changes indicated per page. As I go through the changes in the Comments List, I tick of the boxes as I complete the changes. So as I select the comments in the list, I'm then looking for the area in the design that's being referenced so I can jump into InDesign and make the change. I find that on copy-dense pages the light blue animated line (shown in the attached photo) gets lost and I'm sometimes scanning all over the page looking for it.
    If I could change it's colour to something that would jump off the page more (say bright red or green), it would make my life a bit easier, and make the flow of processing changes a little faster.
    Does anyone know if/how I can do this? I looked all through the preferences and could not find anything.
    Thanks....

    Thanks for taking the time to respond. I'll try that.
    Hopefully they'll make that customizable at some point - will make the workflow smoother for sure. Seems like it would be a simple thing to implement...
