Can you charge an ipod on a ps2

I was just wondering if i plugged it into the usb port on a ps2 would it work.

Many hits on Google pertaining to this. Although the port has 5volts running to it, many report nothing happens when plugged into it. One risks damaging his IPOD or his PS2. A wall charger is $29.00.

  • Can You charge an ipod shuffle with an electrical outlet?

Do you need to have your computer to charge an ipod shuffle???

No, you don't need a computer. You can charge it with an electrical outlet, in your home, or even in your car. Go to Target or Walmart and have a look at the different chargers available. You can get a package that has a standard home-outlet charger and a car charger, so you can do either. Saw something in Walmart for about $20 that would do the trick.

  • Can you charge an ipod on a computer that isn't formatted for i tunes?

All data is on my daughter's computer. If i were to plug her ipod into my computer to try to charge it, is that doable or not doable?

    Yes, that is possible.
When it is done charging, just make sure you eject it properly. Hit the Safely Remove Hardware icon by the clock in windows and go to stop iPod device. Then the main menu will appear and you can remove the iPod without damaging it. (This makes Do Not Disconnect go away)

  • How can you charge the ipod Nano while in a docking station?

My old ipod classic would charge while in the docking station or when connected to the power cord in my vehicle.  The new ipod Nano does not seem to do this.  Can this be fixed so that it will charge while in a docking station?

Depending if you have apple care then you should be able to replace it. Or, it could be the cord that you are plugging it in with/ docking station. It ma not work also.
    I hoped this helped

  • I can't charge my ipod without having to bend the chord what should I do

I have tried 2 chords already and I just got a new one thinking that the problem was the chord, I'm not really sure how this happened, but it did and now I can't charge my iPod.

Hey Godsgrl1, A short and/or debris in the iPod's charging port are the first things that come to mind. Have you tried a different charging device? The thing that supplies the power, not the cable. If issue continues, check the charging port on the iPod for debris, pocket lint can interrupt a solid electrical connection. With a strong light and a magnifying glass look in the port, with the power off. You should see the silver bumps on the short ends, (one on each end), the gold contact pins on one of the long sides and the bottom of the port should appear dark gray or metallic and smooth. If it appears to be a mat finish, could be looking at packed lint. Try blowing it out, If that fails, use a non-conductive probe, I like a round wooden toothpick and carefully remove the debris, usually lint, from the port. Be very careful to NOT TOUCH the gold pins, damage, bent or break then and your screwed! Also, make sure the locking clips, (the silver bumps) are free of debris and push back when touched. If your cable is OK, and is an Apple product or approved for iPod use, Should get you back to charging. If there is no debris, the power supply is good and cables are free of shorts, and still will not charge, try resetting first. If still no joy, then attempt to restore, from backup. If still zip, make sure you have a current backup and restore to new. If a full factory restore does not work, you most likely have a hardware issue. Also, check that there is little to no movement of the port on the iPod, if you can see movement, or damage (missing pieces, cracks, etc.), the port maybe damaged. Schedule an appointment with Apple to have your iPod evaluated, be sure to bring the cables and charging device if possible. Hope this helps. Good luck, Cheers.

  • Can i charge my ipod on any computer?

I need to charge my ipod, i dont have the charger with me and i am away from my computer. I do have the UBS cable, can i charge the ipod on any computer with a UBS port or does it need to be the one its registered on?

As long as the computer has the port that your iPod supports (USB and/or FireWire), and as long as the computer doesn't have iTunes (or if it has iTunes, when it detects your iPod, don't choose to automatically update it - otherwise, all the songs on your iPod will be replaced by whatever's in that computer's iTunes), you should be good.

  • Can you upgrade a IPod 4G to a IPod 5g?

Can you upgrade your iPod touch 4g to a 5g or anything? Thanks for your help!

In the USA, Apple charges $149 for a refurbished one of those and $199 for a new one. If you choose to buy a secondhand one, use a site such as Amazon or eBay, or from a physical store which carries used Mac products, and ensure that the device doesn't have an activation lock set before buying it. If it seems far cheaper than Apple's refurbished price, it probably does.

  • Can you charge ipad in other laptop brands aside from Mac

Can you charge your iPad if it's connected to a different brand of laptop aside from mac

Yes, just like the millions of iPods and iPhones bought and used by Windows users.
There is one issue, though, and that is the iPad requires more wattage than iPods and iPhones. Some USB ports on PCs and Macs and some USB hubs may not provide enough power to charge. But they will sync, and they might charge when the iPad is off.
Here is more information about iPad power requirements:

  • Can i charge my iPod shuffle whilst listening to Music? (plugged into wall and using twin audio jack?

I want to connect my iPod shuffle to a telephone line so when people are put on hold they can listen to music, however the battery will die after some time.
Can i charge the iPod whilst listening to music simultaneously?  (Plugged into wall not computer)

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities
The iPod will support playback and charging only if you have a wire that supports it. Since both audio out and electricity flow through the 1 headphone port you would need a cord of some sorts that will allow the iPod to charge and include audio out. As far as using it on a telephone. If the telephone you are using supports and audio input using the headphone jack then you could use the iPod shuffle as telephone music. If not than the iPod Shuffle may not be the best tool for you.
