There are a couple of options that will allow you to retain full access to your purchases while preventing your account from being used to make additional purchases:
1) You can remove your billing information from your account at any time so that it can't be used to make purchases. By doing this, you retain the ability to authorize computers to play the items you have purchased with the account, and you will still have the account open in case you decide to use it later. To remove the billing information while keeping the account open, go to the Store menu in iTunes and choose View My Account. Log in, go to Payment Information, and in the credit card area choose the "none" option.
2) Apple can disable your account, which will prevent it from being used to make purchases, but you will still be able to play the items you purchased with the account. You can also remove your billing information from the account if you wish.
It is also possible to cancel the account, but you may lose the ability to play the items you've already purchased from the iTunes Store. For example, if your computer is repaired, you may not be able to reauthorize the computer to play your purchases after the repair. Also, you wouldn't be able to authorize computers that were not already authorized before you canceled the account. You may sign up for a new account in the future, but your new account will not play any of the songs or videos purchased with the canceled account (and you can't reactivate the canceled account). You should not cancel the account if you want to be sure you can continue to use your iTunes Store purchases. I therefor stronlgy recommend either removing your billing information or disabling the account as described above.
If you would like Apple to disable (or cancel) the account, you'll want to send a message to the iTunes Music Store through the form at the bottom of this web page specifying if you would like it disabled (or canceled). They should then respond with additional information (some of which I've given above).

Can you have more than one itunes account at one time with apple tv

My understanding is that the home sharing is based off of being on the same Wifi.  So if someone brings their laptop to your house and connects to your Wifi and they have home sharing on they can connect so you can see his/her iTunes library on your iTunes.
I haven't tried this though.  We have two laptops at home, both using my iTunes account and I can see each other's iTunes library, which I'm guessing is what you're probably doing now.  I'd be interested to know if my thought above is true.

  • Can you create more than one iTunes account?

I already have an iTunes account on my computer, but I want to create a second account that has no credit card attached to it. Would creating a second account change my original Apple ID? When I try creating an account, next to the e-mail address, it says this is your NEW Apple ID. Does it mean my original ID for Apple will be changed too? I'm a little confused.

I already have an iTunes account on my computer
You mean you created an iTunes account in the iTunes store.
You have an iTunes library on your computer which may or may not have purchases from iTunes store.
but I want to create a second account
Why? What exactly are you trying to accomplish? I would suggest not creating a new iTunes account.
that has no credit card attached to it.
You can remove the credit card from your current iTunes account.

  • Can you install more tha one Itunes account ona computer.. 2 ipods?

My girlfriend and I share a computer and I have an itunes account and library on the computer, can she use her ipod on my account, or does she need to set up her own account?
Can 2 itunes accounts be set up on the same computer, and how would I do this?

Can 2 itunes accounts be set up on the same computer, and how would I do this?
Yes, they can,. Just make sure you log out between sessions. Each of you would just create a separate account. Or you can have one account. Its up to you.
Probably best though to have two separate accounts.

  • Can you put apps from two iTunes accounts on one device?

I just got an iPhone from work. I would like to put some apps I got for my personal iPod on it, but I also plan to purchase some work-related apps using a work-account (charged to the company card). Is this possible? From what I understand it would be possible to put apps I purchased for the iPod onto the iPhone, but I can't find if I can then use a new account to purchase more apps for the iPhone.
Can someone let me know if this would work? Otherwise I'll just buy the apps using my personal account and get reimbursed (not as neat, but I can't use the work account for personal apps!)

    Yes, you can do that.
You just have to remember from which accounts you bought which Apps when updating them, as you won't be able to update an App bought in one iTunes Account from another iTunes Account.
As far as purchasing new Apps goes - just log-in to the required iTunes Account on the computer you sync your phone to (which should only be one computer), purchase the Apps then sync them to the phone. If you want to purchase Apps from the other iTunes Account, log-out in iTunes then log in with the other iTunes account.
It might just be easier to purchase everything through the one personal account though...

  • Can You Home Sharing Between Two iTunes Accounts

    Hi,
My Dad has a vast amount of music on his itunes account and my old iPod used to be linked up to his account. But recently I got a iPhone 4 and I created my own iTunes account. I would like to be able to listen to the music on my Dad's account as well as the few songs I've purchased on mu account. Can I use home sharing (or something similar) so that I can listen to his music and my music on my iPhone?
    Thanks in advance!

Simply enable Home Sharing with the same iTunes account info on all devices.
You still make purchases using your own iTunes account.

  • Can you have more than one itunes account on a mac

  • Can you have more than one iTunes account on the same computer?

My wife just got a nano and wants to set up her itunes library. Since we have different tastes in music, I thought we should have separate libraries under our separate log-ins to our PC so that her music didn't upload to my iPod and vice versa. Is that the right approach or is there a better way?

There are basically two ways of using multiple iPods on a computer and these involve:
    a) Sharing a single iTunes library and user account.
    b) Creating multiple user accounts and having separate libraries.
    Sharing a Library
If you want to share the one library, you can set either or all of the iPods so that they only get updated with only certain playlists (you can update from more than one if you wish):
Loading songs onto iPod automatically - Windows
Choosing the update option "Sync Music - Selected playlists" allows you to create a playlist specifically for the iPod and drag the tracks you want into it. If you tire of the list and want to change it, you just add or remove the songs you don't want. The ones you take out out remain in the library to be used some other time if you choose. You can read more about playlists at these links:
iTunes: Creating playlists of your favorite songs
How to create a Smart Playlist with iTunes
Or you can choose to update any or all of the iPods manually and just drag whatever content you want to them: Managing content manually on iPod
    Separate User Accounts
Another option is to create a separate User account for each person on your PC or Mac. Different accounts by definition would give you completely separate libraries. Each account has it's own iTunes folder, Library and iTunes Music folder and you load it with CDs etc just as you did with your original one. The iPod can be set to update however the owner chooses, sync all, manual or sync specific playlists

  • How many apple devices can you sync to the same itunes account

I'm trying to sync 2 ipod touches with my itunes account along with my iphone. On one ipod, when I try to sync up it ghosts out my sync apps. I can purchase apps and they appear in my library but can transfer to ipod. Help!

This is a very odd problem, because it should connect to as many as you want. The problem could be a few things so check these and get back to me
see if iTunes is set to sync apps to that iPod
make sure the iPods are sighed into your apple account
make sure your computer is registered to your apple account
if none of these work, give some more information, the more the better when trouble shooting.
