Can you connect Apple TV to a Mac Directly?
I have a client on mine that just purchased an Apple TV... now we connected this up to an Airport Extreme. His Mac Pro is connected to said airport extreme as well.
The Airport extreme works fine, I have a PC and two Macs connected to it, and they can see each other fine. Yet the Mac can't find the Apple TV... why? The Apple TV can connect to the internet, it has updated, so I know it has an IP address.
What is causing this not to work?
Is it possible that I can connect the Apple TV to the computer, share the computer's network, and still provide service to the TV?
You could enable Internet sharing on the Mac and connect the ATV to it with an Ethernet cable. You would still need to use iTunes on the Mac to manage the ATV content, however.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by this - do you mena connect to the Mac to access streaming media or perhaps you were wondering if the AppleTV can behave as a wireless extender to give network access to the PS3 - it can't.
If you are looking for media server solutions there are several available that run on Mac, some free some commercial.

Can you use apple tv on 2009 mac
can you use apple tv on a 2009 mac . I have Mac OS X (10.7.5 running
Yes but it will probably be too old for Airplay mirroring of the Mac's display but should work fine for sharing photos from iPhoto/Aperture or playing compatibl media from your local iTunes library with iTunes running.
For many features AppleTv does not need a computer at all. -
Can you buy apple care on refurbished macs book pros?
Can I buy Apple Care on refurbished MacBook Pros? What's the warranty return policy on them? Will it be in Like New Condition when I get it? This is the one I'm interested in. http://bit.ly/1MND29o
Good afternoon JesseAlexander –
MacBook Pros are such great, reliable products and purchasing it Geek Squad Certified just makes it a fantastic deal as well! In addition to other responsibilities, I spent a few years performing the Geek Squad Certification process on products returned to Best Buy and I know it very well.
To address your first question, AppleCare is sold directly through Apple. I have read through the program Terms and Conditions and I am not able to find a solid answer. I think your best bet would be to contact Apple directly by calling 1-800-275-2273 or visiting their Apple Support website.
We do offer a 15 day Return & Exchange Promise on our Geek Squad Certified products. In addition, we offer a One Year Limited Warranty on them as well. If you are interested in added protection against normal wear and tear or drops and spills, we also offer our own Geek Squad Protection Plan available on our refurbished products. Feel free to click on the links to learn more.
Our Geek Squad Certified products typically begin as returned merchandise that customers changed their mind about. If a problem is discovered during the return, it is automatically disqualified. The returned devices are then given the once-over by store staff and turned over to specially-trained Agents who put them through a standardized process to make sure they are ready to be sold. We thoroughly test and inspect each refurbished device to make sure it works and looks as it did when it first came from the factory.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions regarding our Geek Squad Certified products, MacBook Pros, Geek Squad, or Best Buy in general.

Can you connect an IPOD used on Mac onto a Window PC ?
I have tried to connect a friend's IPOD which he used on a Mac Platform, onto my Windows PC platform. Itunes nor Windows Explorer seems to recognize my friend's Ipod.
Does anyone know a way to read a Mac Ipod onto a PC and vice or versa?
ThanksTo read a Mac-formatted iPod on a PC, you need third-party software, such as XPlay (http://www.mediafour.com/products/xplay/).
Although it's not supported by Apple, Macs will read a PC-formatted iPod just fine. -
Can you connect apple tv3 to itunes library without an internet connection?
I have an Apple TV3 and i am trying to connect it to my iTunes library on my computer. I have setup an access wireless point. Its a TP-Link TD-W8958. I dont have an internet connection on this wireless network becuase I am not living in my own house at this time and dont have a phone line however the guy at the Apple dealer store said i should still be able to connect my computer to the Apple TV3.
When i go to Computer on the Apple TV it says turn on Home Sharing and asks for my Apple ID. It says it cannot connect to the store which makes sense becuase of no internet connection but surely there must be a way to still turn on home sharing and connect with my computer.
Can anyone help?
Thanks

Homesharing needs to check home now and again to verify your account. Unfortunately you will need the Internet in order to be able to use your Apple TV in that way. -

can you connect a GATEWAY TOWER to a MAC 23in CINEMA DISPLAY?
Hi, likely you can, but which 23" is it, one requires an expensive DVI-> ADC connector, not the cheaper ADC->DVI connector, the later one has DVI already.
Then it depends what output your Gateway has for Video.

Can you connect via thunderbolt a mac book air 13" (2013) and a imac 21" (2013) together, using the iMac 21" as a 2nd screen
Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Of course. As both have Thunderbolt, it's as simple as buying a Thunderbolt cable, connect them and press Command and F2 keys on the iMac, so the iMac will be used as an external display for the MacBook Air. If you want more information, see > http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11302 -

Every Mac Mini has a USB port. Every Mac Mini can run iTunes. The only catch is that you need to be running Mac OS X 10.5.8 (Leopard) or later. So in general, yes, an iPad can connect to a Mac Mini.
