Can you control default length of JPEGs?

Quick question. When I import JPEGs or other still images into the timeline the default length of time is 10 seconds? I'm working a project with a large quantity of JPEGs. Can you alter this time length to, say, 4 seconds?
If so, how?
Thanks,
Shanked

Yes, I had actually already tried to alter that setting, unsure if it would work. It didn't work. What was also of note was that the field had previously been entered as 12:12 as in "twelve seconds and twelve frames" and yet the timeline had been defaulting to 10:00 as in "ten seconds flat."
Any explanation for this?
Any alternative solutions?

  • Keynote 09: can you control length of dashes in a dashed line?

Previous versions let you control the length of the dashes in a dashed line. Now, not so much. Or have I missed some secret way to alter the length of the dashes?
This retrogression in functionality is super annoying. Why would anyone think that (a) all dashed lines would look best at the same length of dashes, and (b) keeping the ability to control the length of dashes would be too confusing?

  • CRM 2011: Can you control which form is used based not security roles, but on a field value?

I see that you can control which form is used based on security roles, but can you control it based on other field values?  I'd like a new record to use a different form until a given status is updated.  I have a status of draft and active. So
it would be nice if I could use form1 for those in draft, form2 for those that are active.  But I only see where you can control that via the security roles.
I can code all of this via JavaScript, but having the ability to use two separate forms would be nice.  Is that even possible.
    Best regards,
    Jon Gregory Rothlander

Every time Acrobat scans a document, I have to go to Initial View to set Navigation tab, Page layout, and Magnification. It does not remember the settings I last used.

Can you control Lion on your desktop with an iPhone?  I do not want to buy a wireless trackpad.  Who needs all those batteries?  Hoepfully the iPhone can control it in the meantime, and then they need to make wired trackpads.

I guess there are multiple ways in which people interpret the same sentence. Not everything is obvious to everyone.

  • Can you increase DFF length on Framework page through personalization?

Can you increase DFF length on Framework page through personalization? Not sure if this is possible with personalization or only through customization. Please advise.
    Thanks,

ok, so you want to increase length of KFF item where different segment gives the concateneted segment.
    ex: 10-100-1000-10000-2333.
But why you want to increase the length? is the length too small that it is not able to display complete string.

  • Using APex with Airtunes from an iMAc can you control playing tunes?

Hi, got an imac at Xmas, am looking into Airport stuff, and found this APex, with wireless play of iTunes music, Ive been looking into the Philips streamium and stuff doe playing tunes.
My question is once setup from your iMac to play music wirelessly how can you control it? Ive read the manual but doesnt say anything. So can all you do is press shuffle on the iMac and then it plays everything?
I know you could do playlists and stuff, but I have all my music, kids music, wife's music in my library, so theres a real mixture, and Im sick of listening to High School Musical!!
So can you contol the song playing, ie skip etc with it?
    cheers

iTunes needs to be running in order to stream music to the Airport Express so therefore - no - the Mac running iTunes cannot be in sleep mode. It must be powered up and running, though you could blank the screen if you wish.
Why did Apple not build the function of the Keyspan Express remote into the Airport Express. Likely because it would have increased the cost of the product by 50%, while at the same time adding a feature most people would be happy to live without - in other words, not a great idea from a product marketing perspective.

but you can't lengthen it unfortunately.
Bear in mind, the screen is the largest consumer of power.

  • IN PSE11 can you save in 16-bit JPEG?

IN PSE11 can you save in 16-bit JPEG?

Of course, you can can convert a jpeg (=8 bits) image and save it as 16 bits in other formats than jpeg : especially PSD or TIFF.
For that you have to use the ACR module : Open your 8 bits file with 'Open As', option 'camera raw' and in the bottom line menu of the ACR dialog, set the export option to 16 bits to open in the editor. From the editor you can save your image in one of the 16 bits compliant formats indicated in the above posts.
Note that simply converting an 8 bits image into 16 bits does not add any new information. It is totally useless, unless your goal is to apply heavy editing where theoretically, you would gain some quality starting with 8 bits. Now, in my test, it has been extremely difficult to show the difference...
When working with Elements, the main thing to remember is that the ACR module works internally in 16 bits and can be used for jpegs as well as raw files. That seems an unnecessary step for jpeg originals, but once you are used to it, you have a number of great advantages:
    - same proces that raw files if you use both input formats
    - easier and much better general corrections : white balance, exposure, highlight and shadow, clarity, denoising...
    - much quicker to correct bad exposures and white balance
    - ability to keep the same settings for the subsequent file to edit (impossible in the editor)
    - if you don't need to do further edits (in most cases) you can simply click 'Done' and your settings will be saved in the metadata section of the original files : the image pixels won't be changed and you'll save disk space because you don't need to save an 'edited' copy of the file. The non destructive 'conversion' is the same as in Lightroom : the original is kept and only the editing instructions are saved.
I would say that in my own situation, the ACR plugin is the main software for most pictures, and the editor with layers, masks, filters and local tools is the accessory 'add-on' in most of my edits

  • Can you control the OS Volume from Flash

hi guys, Can you control the master windows OS volume from
    within flash.
My understanding is that within the soundobject.volume, 100
mean 100% of the current windows volume setting.
Can control the windows setting seperatly as well (the same
    way you could/can in Director)?
    Rich

Yes - the JavaScript that's in export.js was rolled into inline code in the Java jar files sometime during version 11.5.
    It's no longer customizable.
An option is to use HTTP Filter on your Java Web App to modify the outgoing JavaScript instream, but that's never a pretty solution.
    Sincerely,

  • Can you control the Discoverer Portlet Size on the Portal Page?

I have a Portal Page and I need the ability to control the Portlet size. The width seems to take on the dimensions defined for the region, but how do you control the dimension for the depth/length. Thanks.

The size of the container is controlled by the Portal Page author through Portal, not the Discoverer Portlet. Unfortunately, I don't know exactly how to control this and it may be different from 9.0.2 to 9.0.4 (not sure which version you are using). You can check on the Portal forum.

And, to make it even more fun, sometimes a website changes how it deals with Safari Mobile. A website that treated it like a desktop browser suddenly starts treating it like a cell phone. Just to mess with you. Or push an app.
