Can you copy cassette tapes?

Is it possible to copy music from cassette tapes onto an iBook G4? If so, how?

Ella:
Your cassette player should have some kind of output port e.g. the earphone jack. The will the source of your sound. Your iBook, unfortunately, does not have a sound-in jack, like a microphone jack. You will need a device like Griffin iMic, which interfaces with the USB port and can be used for sound in, or sound out. There are other devices that do what iMic does, but for the price it is the way to go.
Here is some bedtime reading to bring you up to speed:
Digitize your LPs and tapes
Converting Audio Cassette Tapes to CDs
From Tape to CD
Amicable split: Auto-chunking LPs and tapes
Now, aren't you glad you asked?
Let me know how it goes.
Good luck.

Can you copy multiple audio (text to speech) files from one slide onto a new slide at once? OR do you have to copy and paste each line of text to speech and insert into new slide?

    Hi there
I believe that you end up with a single file that you can use. Once you get that created, it's an audio file in the library. You may then add the audio file to another slide or object by looking in the Library after choosing to add audio.

  • Can you copy/paste files from the Finder to Mail in Lion, or drag them onto the Mail icon in the Dock to create a new message and attach the files to it?

Message title says it: Can you copy/paste files from the Finder to Mail in Lion, or drag them onto the Mail icon in the Dock to create a new message and attach the files to it?
I can't find anything in the Knowledge Base that says these two options no longer work or still do.
I do not have a system capable of running Lion, but I need to know the answer nonetheless.

Gee, I don't know: "paste attachments mail Lion"? ;-)
One further question, if I may: in Panther (which is where I've aggregated nearly 7 years of mail), if you copy more than one file in the Finder, switch to Mail, and paste the files into a new message, only the file names paste in. If you copy one file and paste it into a Mail message, you get the file, not just the name. Is that still true, or has that (IMHO) bug been fixed since 10.3.9?

Can you copy an insert in Logic? You can in Pro Tools, anyone know how?

Yes. ⌥⌘-drag an insert to any other slot and it will be copied (with the same settings). ⌘-drag it and it will be moved only.

Can you copy songs from I-touch to I-pod nano?

    NO.
You sync songs from your computer to both devices.
All of your music should be on your computer in itunes.  You can sync it to your Nano from there.

How to copy cassettes to Mac ? By mic entry? to itunes , quicktime, or garage band? or other software . Thanks Bill

Use the MBP's audio input port, and if your MBP is the 13" version the following Support article applies: MacBook and MacBook Pro (13-inch): How to use the combination audio port for an audio input device
You can use QuickTime Player and select "New Audio Recording" from its File menu.

  • How do you record cassette tapes onto your iPod?

Does anyone know how to get music from all my old cassette tapes onto the iPod?

There are cassette players that can connect to computers. From there the audio can be recorded to mp3 file using software that comes with the device. Another option is to pay a company to do the conversion for you.
I have been considering this myself because I have some old tapes for which CDs were never released. Don't even know if the tapes are in good enough condition to make the conversion worth while.

  • Can you copy Subtitle Streams from one project to another?

I inserted subtitles onto a track and would like to use the same subtitles on a new track; can I copy them and paste them into the new project?
    How can I do this?
    Many thanks!

What you can do is export the item description for the track (File->Export->Item Description) which will export the track, including the subtitles. Then import that back into the project or new project, subtitles will come in, though you would need to change the video portion (if needed).

I don't think you can copy layers – at least not in the
    way you are thinking.
But you can select frames or a range of frames and then
    copy/cut frames.
In the new document you can then paste frames. It has a lot
of variations depending upon how you many you copy, if there are
multiple layers, what area you select before pasting and so on. It
would take a lot to describe and I'm not sure I would describe it
    properly.
Generally just give it a try and get an intuitive feel for
it. The choices are available from the Edit menu but also from a
    right click.
It is also possible to slect and edit multiple frames so if
you do need to move a bunch of things on different key frames that
    is also possible.

    Hi dylansnana,
If you have a Mac, the Photostream should already be on the Mac in iPhoto (presuming that you have iCloud set up on the Mac, and Photostream turned on).
