Can you copy purchase history between two different iTunes accounts?

So I have music from two different iTunes store accounts that were purchased on two different credit cards. I want to buy and album & I have 7 of the songs from it, but it isn't showing up as purchased, because they were purchased on the other account. I don't want to pay for those songs again, so is there a way to copy the purchase history between the different accounts so I don't have to pay for them again?

No.

  • Can I share stuff between two different Itunes accounts?

My wife and I each have an Itunes account.  We find it crazy that we have to potentially purchase the same stuff twice.  We do have most of the music on my account, but most of the business apps on her account.  We each have ipods, each have ipads, iphones and itouch.  This is a lot of Apple products to feel like we cant share much.  Is there a way?

    Yes,
on the device login using the other persons account and go to app store. Check for apps not yet downloaded onto this device and you will see what you are missing from the other account. You can then download it onto that device and use it.
You then go to settings and store and go back to your own account. When you come to updates though, the apps bought using the other account will not update unless you login using the others persons apple ID or at least know their password.
My wife and I have the same apps distributed across two iphones and an ipad using a mixture of either's apple IDs.

  • Can I share music between two different ITunes accounts?

My daughter has iTunes on her Ipod under her iTunes account and I have my music on my IPhone 4S under my account.
We want to share some songs, is this possible?

Import the music in to iTunes library that is used for syncing the device and then sync to the iPod.
    You can import by:

  • Can a single shuffle sync with two different iTunes accounts?

Here's the deal:  My son has used my iTunes account for years (I have an iPod classic and he uses a shuffle).  He has used his own money to buy quite a lot of music. He keeps a playlist and that is what he syncs to.  (BTW, I have a PC using Windows 7, if that matters.)
But he is leaving for college soon and thinks it would be better if he just got his own iTunes account.  (BTW, he just got a new 15" Mac Book Pro)  If he syncs with a new separate account does he lose all the songs he has now?  Can he sync with both accounts?  Is there any solution?

There are two things here.  One is your iTunes library.  The other is your iTunes Store account (your Apple ID).
iPods are synced to an iTunes library, not to an iTunes Store account.
However, your computer is authorized for an iTunes Store account.  One iTunes Store account can have up to FIVE computers authorized to use it.  And one computer can be authorized to use multiple iTunes Store accounts.
So, this is what you can do.  On his MacBook Pro, run iTunes and log in using YOUR iTunes Store account (Apple ID).  From the menu bar, under Store, select to Authorize This Computer.  His MacBook Pro is now one of the (up to) FIVE computers you can have authorized to use your iTunes account.
From the main iTunes Store screen, find the Purchased link over to the right, under QUICK LINKS.  On the Purchased screen, click on Music and download all the songs that are "his" songs to his MacBook Pro's iTunes library.
NOTE:  Alternately, you can use something like a USB flash drive (or external drive) to transfer all of his song files from your computer to his MacBook Pro, instead of re-downloading from the iTunes Store.
He can now create and log in to his own iTunes Store account on this MacBook Pro.  He can authorized it to use his iTunes Store account, so now, his MacBook Pro is authorized for your iTunes Store account AND his account.  However, if he logs into his iTunes Store account, he is using his own account to make future purchases.  But the old purchased songs (from your account) are still there and should still play.
NOTE:  If all of his iTunes Store purchases (using your account) are songs (not videos) and fairly recent, the songs do not have any DRM (copy protection), so it may not matter if his MacBook Pro is authorized for your iTunes Store account or not.  Older songs purchases from the iTunes Store do have DRM.  You can tell by doing a Get Info on a song and looking at Kind, or by adding the Kind column to an iTunes song listing.  If it says Purchased AAC audio file, there is no DRM.  If it says Protected AAC audio file, it has DRM.  Purchased video content has DRM, but free content (such as video podcasts and iTunes U) does not.
Content with DRM requires authorization (of the computer).  But for content without DRM, authorization should not matter.

  • Can you copy music and apps from one iTunes account to another?

My nephew got an iPod touch for Christmas and for some reason my husband decided to add it as a new device to my iTunes account and purchased games and music and put these onto the iPod.  So now he has access to my password, etc.
What I really want to do is set up a new iTunes account for my nephew, but will I be able to transfer his games and music purchased under my account onto his new account or will we lose them all?

This Apple article will walk you through changing the Apple ID -> iOS: Changing the signed-in iTunes Store account
And this one will walk you through creating a new account -> iTunes: How to set up an iTunes Store account (Apple ID)
You won't be able to transfer the apps to the new account, you'll have to purchase them again with the new account.

  • PC, iPad, iPods - can iCloud help when we have two different itunes accounts?

We have one account associated with a PC/laptop and a few ipods then we have a iPad which has another iTunes account associted with it and a mpb that has no account association.  Can we integrate/merge our itunes accounts into one icloud account and share all the songs across all devices?

No, but you can authorize each device to play music from the other account.

I'm going to give my old iPad to my granddaughter, I want to create an account for her, but I want to do it on my computer so there are no worries about who is spending credits for that account. Don't know how this will work, or if its possible to two iTunes libraries.
    Okay.
She's going to use your computer to sync with iTunes.
Create an new computer login on your computer for her. This will keep her stuff separate and she won't be able to mess with any of your info.
    Log into her computer account.
    Launch iTunes.
Create a new iTunes account for her. See this -> http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2731
You can enter a credit card to create the account then delete the CC info. Or you can use an iTunes gift card and she can fund the account with gift cards instead of using a CC to make purchases. This is an easy way to control spending.
on the iPad, go to Settings > iMessage > Off.
Then Settings > General > Reset > Erase all content & settings.
Once it finishes, plug in the iPad, select it in iTunes and this will set it up as a new device. Enter all your granddaughter's info.
When she wants to sync her iPad or use iTunes, she needs to log into your computer with her account.
Then the iTunes library she uses will be only hers.

  • Can I use the same music file for two accounts to be able to set up two different iTunes accounts?

I would like to set up two different Itunes accounts on my mac.  I would like to have different accounts for my wife and I so that our devices have different accounts/contacts/email and stuff but we would like to use the same music library.  Can I set the different itunes to go to the same file to see music?  Or could I copy the music file and give the copy to the second itunes account?  I could set it up and authorize the music like for another user?  Is any of this possible?

    Hello 19firedude
Try moving the entire iTunes Media folder to the Shared folder on your Mac and then in iTunes preferences, change the location of that folder to line it up. Then all you have to do in another user is follow the second set of steps to get that shared properly. Check out the article below for more detailed instructions.

  • Can we have two different itunes accounts on the same mac?

Can we have two different itunes accounts on the same account? I am having trouble accessing mine from my sons.

    Yes you can.
The fact you cannot access your son's library from your User account is intentional. User accounts on your Mac are nearly as separate from each other as your Macs are from anyone else's on the planet. To copy music from his account to yours, first copy it to the Shared folder, then log into your account and import the music. Then, you can erase it from Shared.
The Shared folder exists at /Users/Shared.

Can I use two different itune accounts on one computer?

    1. Give her a separate user account on your computer. If you have a backup copy of the library, you can restore it.
    2. If you encounter a 90-day waiting period, click here and ask the iTunes Store staff if they'll remove it.

how can I use music from two different iTunes accounts?

If you mean iTunes Store accounts, there's really nothing for you to do. Just add the tracks to the iTunes library and play them. Music purchased prior to late-2009 will been to be authorized, though. Pull down Store > Authorize... and type the credentials of the Apple ID used to buy the tracks.
If you mean something else, please describe in more detail.

    Hey NON-TECHNO-WIZARD
You can do one of two things. The first is to just export out the contacts and import them into each other’s account. If something is updated the other person will not be updated with the information. Now another options is using one Apple ID for iCloud Syncing and then you can still use individual Apple ID’s for store purchases. The article below will shed some light on how you can use the Apple ID.

If it is in your itunes on your computer, then select it to sync just like everything else that you sync.
The music must be on your computer.

  • We have two ipads and two different itunes accounts, can I sync my wife's apps and she mine?

we have two ipads and two different itunes accounts. can I sync my wife's apps and she mine?

Yes, you can use the apps from both accounts on the same iPad. You will both need to authorize each others iTunes account for use in each others computer account. You may authorize up to five Macs/PCs to use stuff from your account and that computer can then transfer the stuff to up to 10 iOS devices.
Open iTunes in your account and have your wife sign into her iTunes account in the iTunes app. First authorize your computer account to use her iTunes stuff from the iTunes Store menu. Then have your wife download all of the iOS apps that you want to use into iTunes. Now you do the same in her computer account.
Remember that only you can update apps acquired with your iTunes account and vice versa. So you will need to either sign into iTunes on the computer or directly on each others iPad to update any apps that need it. It is a little confusing at first, but you get the hang of it quickly.
