Can you create an image map that will link to a different element on the same page?

I have used image maps before and know how to create an image map to link to a new page. In this case, however, I want to be able to click on my image using an image map and load a new image with text on the same page as the image map. Is this even possible? Is there some sort of behavior that allows you to create same-page links, perhaps using AP divs? I want the end result to be a type of gallery that loads different images depending on where you click on the main image.
Again, I don't even know if this is possible. Any suggestions on how to make this work would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not too sure what Crawkers is, but I do not think DW has that capability out of the box. There are some web based solutions that will scan you site for you and give you a map for search engines. I choose to go with a commercial option which is pretty good from WebAssist, it's called Surveyor: http://www.webassist.com/dreamweaver-extensions/surveyor/ .

I have completed my first website using fireworks first then dragging it to dreamweaver cs6. My client is ready to launch their site. Two issues. I am literally trying to hotspot link an image for an email and paypal account. A few of my friends who are also website designers are having the same issue. Can this problem be solved so I can get paid?

If I create a pdf portfolio that contains multiple documents (e.g. Word, multiple PDFs and Excel documents), is there a way to create a table of contents at the beginning of the portfolio to help navigate to the individual documents?

The Files list displays a list of files, so the user can quickly see all the files in the portfolio with any information you want to share; title, description, file type, size etc.
Or, you can also use a different layout, for example, the Linear and use the space next to each file to describe it.

How big can you create an Image?

Hi,
I am trying to create a scrollable horizontal tree view using ScrollPane with a child Canvas.
If I draw straight on to the canvas I get that awful flickering. If I create an offscreen Image and draw to it, if the image is bigger than 10000 by 10000 I get an out of memory exception. eg buffImage = this.createImage(10000, 10000);
Is there a way of increasing the JVM memory for IE5 - or is this not the question I should be asking? Should I be asking how do I create big offscreen Images?

No need to increase the offscreen image!
Let the offscreen image be the size of the the ScrollPane.
Then, when painting to the offscreen image, adjust everything you paint for x, and y (leting the top left corner of the image not be the top left corner of the tree, but the top left corner of the viewable part of the tree). And when you scroll you paint your offscreen image to the viewable part of the canvas (not at 0,0 but at some x,y according to current scroll position). You dont need a huge Image for painting on nonviewable parts of the canvas. Even if you could get the resources needed, it would be a waste !

Can You Create Composited Images w/ Lightroom???

I'm trying to figure out if Lightroom will satisfy all my needs. As far as image editing is concerned, Lightroom should be sufficient for me. However, I do occassionally have a need to composite several images into one. Can Lightroom do this?
If not, can PhotoShop Elements 5.0 do this, or do I need the full PhotoShop.

Lightroom does not have the built in ability currently to stitch images together into a composite, panoramic, or HDR.
There are Plug-Ins though for Lightroom that will do this for you. LR / ENfuse for example with do exposure layering and blending.
There are a ton of pre-sets out there, and a growing number of Google. J.Friedly and T. Armes both have some great shareware ones.

Can you create two separate tile views for a Promoted Links List

I have lots of pages on my site where i want the effect of the promoted links list tile view. However, i don't want the same links to show up on every spot i use it. Is there not a way to create separate tile views so you can create filtering conditions?
Right now i am stuck having 5 separate lists with 5 items in each because of this limitation. Am i missing something?

There is an easy way to do this.
Add columns to the Promoted Links list.
Add a column named Page.
Type in name of the page on which you would like this link to appear.
Add a column named Row.
Create a view filtered by page name and Row. Example: Show only when Page = HomePage AND Row = 1
Create another view filtered by page name and another Row. Example: Show only when Page = HomePage AND Row = 2.
Go the page you would like the links to appear. Edit the Page.
Add Promoted Links app part (still not used to the app thing) and select your view for Row 1
Add another Promoted Links app part and select the view for Row 2.
Lather, Rinse and Repeat.

Can you create a keyboard short cut for the dictation mic with bluetooth keyboards? The multi-button requirement to open the onscreen is annoying and unintuitive.

(Using an "iPad 3", i dont care what apple calls it) There should be a built in one button access to this from EVERY keyboard since this function is used to replace typing. An inherent Apple shortcut like copy and paste. I set my iPad up on a framed photo holder and use it like a moniter screen when I write, my Bluetooth keyboard is separated from it and makes writing comments and long articles less efficient because it requires extra steps with every dictation, while taking up screen space to have the on screen open. There needs to be a way to access dictation without the onscreen keyboard open, via any standard keyboard.

I was "reasonably frustrated" for having more than one answer offered for a question that not only didn't I ask, but made it clear I was aware of the information it appears they cut and paste at me.
I see it as: the title of my post should inform any person with an elementery handeling of the english language that I not only have this type of keyboard but am well aware it has a button for the ONSCREEN keyboard. That makes it look like they were just "approval hunting" #1. 2nd Grampa Joe's generic sounding response as a zero level newbie already who found "this" post where the first line is about keyboard shortcuts......WHEN there are better posts with more views and commets for exactly that. Approval hunting #2. I'd say based on both, my suspicion is darn reasonably justified sir.

Finally, your first post answered my question directly. Thank you. However under General/Keyboard, at the bottom you can make keyboard shortcuts. They may not function how I'm asking, but you can make them.

Park the playhead in front of you desired frame then go to Export>Using QT conversion>change format to Still Image >then click the option button and choose JPEG.

Invoice Lists, can you create a single a/c for multo billing docs

We are looking at using the invoice list functionlity to provide a single bill for a payer per month.
This will cover multi ship tos, billing document types, PO numbers etc.
Is there a way to have a single accounting document that will be able to capture the information from multi billing documents and types?

I don't think so it is possible because the moment you will be having different billing types, your invoice will split, they can not be clubbed into a single invoice(Number Range are defined on your Document Type).

Unable to Create Image Map Hotspot

I've got a GIF image inserted into a RoboHelp HTML 8 topic and am trying to create multiple image map hotspots on the graphic. I successfully created the first hotspot (a rectangular one). When I try to create the second, the crosshair cursor displays, but when I drag with the mouse, it fails to draw a box outline. When I release the mouse, nothing happens.
This behavior is erratic. Sometimes, if I close and reopen the topic, I can draw a hotspot. Other times, if I complete exit and re-launch RoboHelp, I can draw a hotspot. Is this a bug, or is there something I can do to make it work more effectively?

Do you have many other hotspots in this topic?
Do you have other dynamic HTML in this topic (Related Topics, See Also, drop-down text, etc.)?
Have you been performing a lot of Cut/Paste operations prior to experiencing this issue?
Have you ever hit multiple keys in this topic and caused a RH crash?
RH places numerically identified data in the <HEAD> section for dynamic HTML entities, in addition to the related, numerically matched code that resides in the BODY section. At some point, these numeric matches can get corrupted (the old fat fingers causing a crash trick, for example). The only cure to that is to delete all the HEAD and BODY data, and then start over. Sorry.

Problem creating several image maps (linking to different pdf files) RoboHelp 8

Hi,
I have a problem creating several image map hotspots (that link to different .pdf files), from the same image using RoboHelp 8 HTML (WebHelp project).
After compiling, the first image map hotspot created, opens the .pdf file correctly. Unfortunately, when clicking on the other image hotspots, I get an error " Cannot find file...<file path>... Make sure path or Internet address is correct".
All the pdf documents are located in the same folder within the project.
Can anyone help?

Can I use an Image Map to link to an SLP

I am working on a project starting with the Desktop Catalog with Homepage layout, and have created 4 additional generic SLPs. I added an image to the homepage slp and would like to use an image map to link to the 4 generic slps that I created. But I get an error when running the site and clicking on any of the image map links. Clicking on the link opens a new window with a "This program cannot display the webpage". At times I have gotten a script error when clicking the link rather than the This program... message, but I cant seem to replicate that at the moment.
I am able to do a simple hyperlink on the image to an slp, but this, of course, only gives me the ability to link to one of my additional pages....
Any ideas?

I did finally figure this out... it is possible to map to an slp file from an image map... the trick has to do with how slp files work in RH,and makes sense, sort of, once I got it to work. When you generate html5, htm files are generated fromthe slps.
When you link to an slp file in a regular hyperlink, during the generation of the site, RH translates the slp refernce to the htm file reference that is generated from the slp. But for some reason, i.e., a bug IMHO, with an image map, when you link to an slp file, RH does not convert this slp reference to the .htm reference (as it does with normal, non-image map hyperlinks.
So the way to get this to work, is when you create the image map link, put in the htm file name that will be created during generation.
