Can you cut and paste in aperture?

I want to cut a piece of one picture (the moon) and paste it into another.  Is that possible?

I want to cut a piece of one picture (the moon) and paste it into another.  Is that possible?
Just for the fun of it: You can sort of copy and paste within the same image, using the clone brush in Aperture, but not between different images.
Sometimes I use the following work-around:
Combine both images into one image, for example by printing them together as a tiff to a folder on the Desktop and reimporting to Aperture
Then I use the clone-brush (Adjustments tab > Retouch > Clone) to paint in the object from the second part of the image to the first.
Set the source of the brush to the object you want to clone
Then brush the area in the first image where you want the object to appear.
Crop the resulting image, and there it is.
This only will work well, if the background has a similar color and texture in both images. Otherwise you will have to adjust the color of the background and do some smoothing before cloning.  And you cannot scale what you want to clone, so any scaling has to be done, before you combine the two images in one.

  • Can you cut and paste multiple lines of text in adobe forms?

    Hi -
I am working on cutting and pasting large amounts of information into adobe forms. When I presently cut and paste from Excel, it puts all of the data in one line rather than in separate choices in a multiple choice selection.
Is there a way to separate out this data so that from the excel sheet, each piece of data is separated into a different possible selection?
    Thanks,
    Laura M

That's not the way of transferring data from Excel to a PDF form. You should format the data in two rows, the first being the field names and the second being their values, and then import it via Tools - Forms - More Form Options - Import Data...

  • Can you cut and paste in the iphone?

Any information on cutting and pasting in the iphone is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Steve

Unfortunately the iPhone does not support Copy & Paste. Though as we have already seen, a great deal of functionality has already been added to the device via free software updates so it would be possible for it to be implemented in the future.

  • I can't cut and paste in aperture on export

    I updated to 3.4 and I'm on 10.8.2 with a 27" 2011 iMac.
In the browser, I go to export all the pictures in a project.  When the finder window pops up, I create a new folder and it is highlighted for changing the name of the 'Untitled' folder.  I try to paste from my clipboard (like I've done thousands of times) and now it makes a beep noise and won't let me.  I can type a new folder name, I just can't paste it.  Anyone else having this problem?  It is a huge pain.

Thanks Frank.  That does work, but it is still extremely slow.  Why would they disable cmd-v?  That doesn't make any sense to me.  I to cmd-A to select, then Shft-cmd-E to export, then cmd-V to paste and I do this a lot in my workflow.  It just makes no sense.

  • Can I cut and paste directions obtained via maps into a word doc or something so I can see them if I can't connect to the internet

Can I cut and paste directions form maps into a word doc - or save it somewhere on my iPad so I can access it when I can't access the Internet?

    Take a screen short.
Simultaneously press the Sleep and Home button. You will notice an on-screen flash. If you have sound enabled, you will hear a camera click.
The screen shot is stored in Camera Roll.

  • I can't cut and paste and the mac doesn't see me as the admin

Okay so here are my current frustrations and issues:
    1. I can't cut and paste anything! Not from emails, not in documents, nothing.
    2. I went to make changes in the utilities and when I started, under my name, it said admin and now it says standard and the computer won't allow me to make changes. I try to enter my name and password and the computer says I am not the admin.
    3. I can't delete the "test" user and "guest" user because apparantly there is no admin.
I have rebooted using the install disk and I was able to change the passwords but I still can't get in as the admin.
Is there a way to override this before I a) pull out all of my hair, my husbands hair and the hair belonging to my cat and/or b) before I throw the machine out the window and then have another frustration that the unit is not working?!

First back up all your data, if you haven't done so already.
Boot in safe mode (shift key down at startup) and check to see whether the clipboard now works. If it does, reboot as usual (not in safe mode) and try again.
Next, boot in single-user mode by restarting the computer and holding down the Command and S keys at the chime, until you see white text on a black background. Wait for the text to stop scrolling, then follow the instructions on the screen, which will tell you run the fsck and mount commands. Be very, very careful to type the commands correctly. After you enter the mount command, please enter this:
    rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
    Then this:
    exit
The Mac will now boot up as if for the first time. Go through the setup procedure to create a new admin account with the same name and password as the old one.

  • Can i cut and paste a gb track?

can i cut and paste a gb track? i'm recording a one on one interview. i will export to itunes and burn a cd. but i was told cd will not exceed 80 minutes. if interview goes longer than 80 minutes, can i cut and paste from one track to burn two cds? i have gb2.

To make sure you have the terms correct, you can't get a "track" you can cut/copy/paste "regions" within a track. So yes, you can do what you want.

  • Can not cut and paste in 10.5.5 in on user profile but other users fine

    Hi, all,
We have an 24" iMac running 10.5.5 (with all latest updates). Pretty simple machine, nothing fancy on it, just simple machine. One of the 5 users on it can not cut and paste, but other users can just fine. I can not find anything much on this. Any & all advice is most appreciated.
    Thank you.
    Jason Sjobeck
    www.sjobeck.com

I very much appreciate the suggestion, I do, and please do not take this the wrong way, thank you again for taking the time to try to help me, but ..... I am not going to take a bazooka to this ant hill on this specific issue for this user.
We're talking about hours & ours of work, maybe more, to find out why cut-n-paste (ie: Apple+C and Apple-V) do not work & that ought to be findable & correctable as a single issue with a single action.
If it is not, then I guess that is another issue isnt it, and I'll be taking that up with the manufacturer.
I continue to look for the "right"(tm) solution.
+note to "discussions site webmaster": why would this form as the poster for the OS & model & details of their post again (ie: when theyre replying here, to someone else, as I am here). Do we think that those items have changed in the last hour since the first post? Not only does it ask again, youre required to answer them again since they dont "remember" the poster's first answers, since it would confuse everyone to not answer, since the defaults are incorrect (ie: the defaults arent even the latest stable software versions).+

  • Safari Can't Cut and Paste Pics

    Hi All
I can not cut and paste pics to Delphi forums. Others have the same problem, Some have tried Firefox but no luck.
Seems that you can only do it with Internet Explorer. Icckk
Anybody know how to fix this problem?
    Thanks in advance

    HI,
One possibility. From the Safari Menu Bar click Safari/Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
At the bottom of that pane select: Show Develop menu in menu bar
Now from the Safari Menu Bar click Develop / User Agent / Internet Explorer. Try 8, 7, or 6.
No guantee but it's worth a try.
The next time you relaunch Safari it will default to Safari 5.

  • How can I cut and paste from a webpage to a Word document without the document taking me to the web address when I click on a word in the document?

How can I cut and paste from a webpage to a Word document without the document taking me to the web address when I click on a word in the document?

You are trying to copy a link, it is most likely in a different color such as the words "Microsoft's own forums" in his post. In Word highlight the word or words, control click on them, select Hyperlink, then Edit Hyperlink, then delete the link from the top box. It will then have a button asking if you want to "Remove Link", click on it.

  • HT3737 how do you cut and paste on an iMac

how do you cut and paste on an imac

If you're talking about cut and paste as you would do with files and folder on a Windows box you do it in a round about way.
Either Copy ⌘C, (Yes copy not cut), and then move, ⌘⌥V (a variation on paste ⌘V).
    If you're a mouser.
Right click the File and choose Copy from.....
The right click the folder you want to move it to but hold down the option key and Paste item.....
...will change to Move item here.

How can I cut-and-paste a question here from a Notepad file?

Forget this, it now seems to be working.

  • I can use cut and paste in Rich Text Editors for all web site hosts but one. I have tried the solution you provided, but it doesn't work. Any ideas? the website that rejects cut and paste is Network Solutions

I really hoped you would fix the security policy issue in release 4. I have to close Firefox and use IE9 to maintain a website I built with Network Solutions and I'd much rather not have to endure the slowness of IE. I also have websites with Wix and WEBS and have no problems at all using cut and paste with them.

Did you have it connected to the library mac when it froze? If so, why? I would be hesitant to hook my ipod to a unprotected public computer since it may be infested with viruses or have unknown hardware problems.
In any case, if you can get it to an Apple store they can probably help you with it, it sounds like it needs replacing.
A certain percentage of any complex product will turn out to be defective and will have to be returned, it sounds like you were unlucky enough to get one. Looking over the forums here it may seem like the ipod is plagued with bugs, but don't forget that there are millions who never have a problem and so have no reason to pipe up here. Personally I think Apple deserves a thumbs up for continuing to host these forums in spite of how they may cast a negative light on thier products to the casual observer.

Hello.  In 2012 you answered a query about the following problem:
"I have had my MacBook Pro for over three years now, without much trouble, but recently I've been unable to send images that I have cut and pasted into Apple mail. I can attach an image that I have saved in my photos and it will send but I can not send an image that I have cut and pasted from the internet."
This problem started with me this morning and it does not happen when I open a test account.  The thread stops after you asked if it occurs in the test account, did you ever find a solution to this issue?  I am using mac mail 3.6 on system 10.5.8.
I hope you receive this, I have never posted in one of these forums.
    Thanks in advance,
    Dave
