Can you download photos from an iphone 3 to an ipad 2

I was able to copy photos via the camera connection kit from my old 3GS to my first gen iPad. There are also apps such as Simple Transfer which can copy photos between iOS devices (and your computer) via your wifi network.

No. You can move them to computer and from there to the SD card or you can upload them to a Cloud service like Dropbox.

Either by syncing thorugh your computer. Loading it to your comptuer and e-mailing it to yourself - an email you open on the iPad, or by purchasing the camera connection kid (presuming you have an SD card), and transferring them that way

  • Can not download photos from iphone to computer or mobile me

i havent been able to download my pictures from my iphone to my computer thru itunes at all i went to the local at&t store but instead they convinced me that buying mobile me would automatically sync my photos and still havent figured that out please help so frusturated..............

Hi, Kortiz - I think your question was -"i havent been able to download my pictures from my iphone to my computer . . . please help so frusturated.............. "
Excuse the babble as this is written quickly but I too just was setting up my iPhone 3GS with to get test photos I shot today onto my MAC computer, and I was "frusturated" TOO! I have a deep knowledge of Apple products, a MobileMe acct and I own Aperture, a wonderfully powerful program (expensive also, but also have APPL stock, so I balance that with positive returns) - but spent way over an hour trying to sleuth it out - only then turned to the internet to find others were in the same position.
I am a die-hard Apple Supporter, but finding a way to transfer 30 photos was far from intuitive, (I think I could only email-upload 5 at a time) and interestingly the "manual" as well as a "Dummies" book someone leant me as a joke do not address the process properly - they focus on a process to upload TO your iPhone - as does the answer from k8 below - why is this?! The answer was that you have to have an updated version of iPhoto or Aperture and figure it out from there (not obvious either), but even Aperture took more steps than were needed for what SHOULD be a simple transfer to the folder of your choice.
There is no doubt that Apple wants us all to spend a lot of time around the iTunes money machine (again, fine with me, bought stock when it was $17+ share) but why do iPhone "DEVICES" show up only in iTunes and not as part of a transparent system functionality? Most cameras and flash memory just pop up as a folder on the Macintosh desktop allowing a SIMPLE "drag and Drop" copy from a DEVICE to a PHOTO folder (or any other folder for that matter).
WHY have the design and engineering teams made it so convoluted for some of these issues when they have thought out FAR more complex actions so elegantly?
So, here are some questions I have in return if any APPLE techs are out there - (as I have not received a non "hedgy" answer from anyone of the "genius" employees)
The iPhone does not come up on the desktop as a "DEVICE"
iPhoto therefore cannot "IMPORT" the photos.
Wouldn't this make sence based on the "way" we do other actions on the MAC (or eek -PC)?
Someone in this forum answered " iTunes doesn't transfer photos from the camera roll to your computer. Get them as you would from any digital camera. "
Q: Why not use ONE program to deal with receipt from as well as transfer to the base computer?
Q: "Get them as you would from any digital camera" I WISH!!! Why do even SONY cameras just pop up as a folder on the Macintosh desktop allowing a SIMPLE "drag and Drop" copy from device to PHOTO folder?
AND WHY SHOULD THIS STATEMENT BE TAKEN AT FACE VALUE?:
"iTunes will only sync photos from your computer to the photo album on your phone. The previous post covers that."
Q: Although we have learned since the early OSX days Apple no longer makes things to purely benefit the user without putting profits first and drawing continuing blood or cash second for the long term (just an observance) how can this issue be part of the grand plan for world domination? Isn't there some elegant behind the scenes way of allowing downloads as well as uploads from iTunes without leaving it?
    Best, Tom

  • How do you download photos from iPhone to Picasa on a computer?

I cannot successfully import photos to PIcasa from my iPhone 4S.  I have a DELL PC.  Help!

Where in iCloud are your photos?
If the photos are in My Photo Stream or a Shared Album, enable iCloud Photo Sharing in iPhoto and enable automatic downloads. Or manually save the photos from the iCloud section of he source list in iPhoto to your iPhoto Library.
If the photos are on iCloud Drive, drag them from iCloud Drive to the iPhoto icon in the Dock to import them.
If the photos are in iCloud Photo Library Beta, download them from the page    https://www.icloud.com/ to a folder ron your Mac and then import the folder to iPhoto.  iPhoto cannot access  iCloud Photo Library Beta directly. The Photos.app for Mac, soon to be released, will be able to do that.

Yes. In iTunes go to the Photo tab and choose the PC folder that contains the pictures you want to sync with your iPhone.

Unless you have an Internet connection you cannot access iCloud. You can download your music from iCloud to store permanently on your iPhone, but only when you have an Internet connection to do so.

That would depend upon the card reader, who makes it, and what their suppointing software does.  I happen to have an older ZoomIT SD card reader with a 30 pin dock connector.  The hardware maker provides an app for iOS that allows me to use the adapter with my iPhone 4 and I can open pictures from the SD card and view them.  I believe it even allows me to save teh image to my cameral roll if I want.  Since it does have the 30 pin dock connector, I need to use the Apple adapter to plug it into the Lightning port on my iPhone 5, but is still works just fine there too.
I also have the Apple Camera Connection Kit (30 pin version) but it is much more restrictive.  It only works with the iPad, and it only copies certain files form teh SD card to the iPad. (The files must be in the "/DCIM" folder on the SD card, the file name must be in the older DOS 8.3 file name format, and I believe it only woirks with JPG, and MOV files.  As you can see, the Apple device is built to let me view pictures from my point-n-shoot cmera on the iPad screen, whereas the ZoomIT allows copying of content to/from the SD card and an iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch.
Now for the bad news, I don' tthink the ZoomIT reader is made any longer, and when you can find them, the sellers are usually charging close to $125 for them.
