Can you drag and drop contacts into Pages template?

Older versions of Pages allowed you to drag and drop contact information to a document or template, Can this still be done in newer versions? If so, how?

No.
Someone has created an AppleScript to merge your addresses however.
Why not just use Pages '09?

Can`t drag and drop foto into pages document, it bounces back

trying to drag and drop a foto from iphoteo to pages document, it doesn`t work properly and steady.
Eventually it bounces back. I repeated to do so few times, sometimes it works into an blank page or into a fotoframe, sometimes it doesn`t.
I checked camera type and other informations of the pictures,seems to be not part of the problem.
I can drag and drop fotos to the desktop without problems, all jpg.
I did drag and drop a few pictures succsesfully onto the same document or into the same fotoframe and suddenly, again it does not work.

Try making a direct shortcut to the Organizer and then the Editor.
You should then be able to drag and drop on to the desktop icon.
On Windows right click on the desktop and select New >> Shortcut
Browse to Computer OS C:
And find the PSE Organizer application in Program Files or Program Files (x86) on Windows 7 - 64 bit.
Inside the Adobe >> Photoshop Elements Organizer (yellow folder) you are looking for an application file “PhotoshopEementsOrganizer” with six small icons (e.g. representing thumbnails - could be different in PSE5 but look for the exe file)
Select it and click OK
Click next
Rename by taking out Photoshop Elements leaving just the word Organizer
Then click finish
You should now be able to launch directly form the desktop by double clicking on the icon.
You can set up a similar direct link to the Editor application.

I recently installed iTunes 4.3 and can't drag and drop music into my 'music library' anymore?

I recently installed iTunes 4.3.5 and can't drag and drop music into my 'music library' anymore. Every time I try to drag the music from a folder into the library, that little circle with the line thru it comes up (not allowed symbol). I've been using iTunes for years and am pretty computer savvy... I have no idea what the problem is. The only way I can add music right now is if I go to File>Add File to Library and that takes way too long, especially when adding 20-30 songs. I am using Windows 7 and I have an iPhone 4. Please help! This is extremely frustrating.

Can't drag and drop attachments into mail fullscreen

Have a weird issue. In lion I could drag and drog into a new mail message by dragging the attachment to the hot corner then to the fullscreen mail app then onto the new mail message.
Now for some reason in Mt. Lion it will no longer do this.
I can do it when mail is not in full screen mode or if I create a new mail message in another desktop.
Any suggestions?
And no I do not have air display on this computer (did do a search before posting)

When this happens can you drag and drop regular files and icons etc?
I did a clean install, setup several user accounts last night. Dragging and dropping was working in my main user account last night. This morning (computer on all night) I could not drag and drop anything in that particular user account including mail attachements. Other accounts worked fine. Thought it was a permissions issue but they were fine.
Ended up trashing the user account and resetting it up and everything back to normal.

Can't drag and drop actions into a set

I'm using CS4 and haven't had this problem before. After loading various actions, I am unable to drag and drop them into one of my sets. The actions either drop above or below the set.
I'd appreciate any suggestions.

I can't think of any reason for this behaviour.
Maybe it's time to try resetting your preferences as described in the FAQ.

You either have to physically delete (or rename) the preference files or, if using the Alt, Ctrl, and Shift method, be sure that you get a confirmation dialog.
This resets all settings in Photoshop to factory defaults. (A complete uninstall/re-install will not affect the preferences and a corrupt file there may be causing the problem.)

Can't drag and drop files into Attachments while in Administrator mode

I can drag and drop files into attachment easily when I'm not in Administrator mode. But I need to be in Administrator mode at work and therefore for some reason I cannot drag and drop files into attachments; I'm forced to manually search and select particular files for attaching, which significantly slows my day-to-day work.
Is it a bug?
I have the up-to-date version of Thunderbird and I use MS Windows 7 Ultimate.
Any help would be highly appreciated.

To diagnose problems with Thunderbird, try one of the following:
*Restart Thunderbird with add-ons disabled (Thunderbird Safe Mode). On the Help menu, click on "Restart with Add-ons Disabled". Can't drag and drop files into Indesign.

My ability to dragon and drop files into InDesign has stopped. I also cannot copy and paste. I have tried dropping previously used jpg's and PDFs as well as copying text from Acrobat, Chrome and Word. I reset the prefrences with control option command shift, but still no luck - I can't drag and drop files. Also, I cannot move files with my mouse in the program.

Nobody can help you without system information. Could be anything from graphics driver issues to a defective mouse to a busted operating system...

i`m from germany, so sorry for my english..
i use pse5 since a few years and a few month with windows7..today i had to reinstall it and now i can`t drag and drop images from explorer or acdsee to PSE workspace. i get no error-message , only this circle with a diagonal line..
i CAN drag and drop images from the editor..
- i reinstalled it and repaired it
- tried diffferent compatability modes
- i don`t run the program as a administrator ( tried it- it was the same)
so can anyone please help me?

Can you drag-and-drop music onto the iPhone in iTunes?

New to iPhone and only just braking it in, as it were.
It looks like the only way I can upload music onto my iPhone is via synching my entire library onto it. Which, if I may say so, is an incredibly stupid and debilitating design - amongst other severe shortcomings of the iPhone I am slowly discovering over time. Is it not possible to drag-and-drop like the good old iPods?
If this is indeed the only way to load music, what's the easiest I can pick out my favorite 2000-or so tunes and put them on there?? Don't tell me it's clicking on the boxes next to the songs in the Library page, because that's when I will start asking for my money back...

I don't blame this person whatsoever for making the assumption that the iPod portion of his phone would work similarily, if not the same, as the iPod.
But it does work the same as the iPod. As with an iPod, you can sync all songs and playlists, or selected playlists, or you can manually manage music and videos. You can also select sync only checked songs and videos under the Summary tab and uncheck the songs in your iTunes library that you don't want transferred to your iPhone. This can be used with syncing selected playlists - if you want to remove a song from your iPhone that is in a selected playlist without removing the song from the playlist in iTunes, you uncheck the song in the playlist in iTunes followed by a sync. There is no difference with an iPod in this regard except for the iPhone not supporting disk mode.
In order to manually manage music and videos with an iPod, you must select this under the Summary tab for the iPod sync preferences, and the same for the iPhone.
And if you resent his rant, why respond and waste your volunteer time on this post?

I used to drag and drop photos into pages. Recently updated to iPhoto 9.4.3 and now Pages doesn't recognize the photo?????

I use iWork Pages '09 to create my images. I normally drag and drop photos from iPhoto directly to Pages.
With iPhoto 9.4.3 I now get an error: " The media can't be used because you don't have access privileges or because it has no content or is corrupt". This doesn't happen with every photo from the same event and doesn't get corrected after running 'Repar Permissions'. I can Export to desktop then drag to Pages but that is stupid. What's up???

This looks like previews of some of your photos are missing or corrupted. Did you run a cleaning application, like "clean my mac" or move your iPhoto Library? Where do you store your iPhoto Library?
I'd try to repair the database or rebuild the iPhoto Library in addition to repairing permissions with the iPhoto Library First Aid Tools. Launch iPhoto with the command and options-key ⌥⌘ held down at the same time to get to the First Aid Tools.
Back up the iPhoto Library before you try rebuilding.

I can't drag and drop files into iTunes - any ideas?

As I often do, I went to drag four new files into a playlist in iTunes and suddenly they will not go in. I just get that circle with a diagonal line across indicating that this is not possible.
Lately iTunes has been giving me all sorts of problems such as not recognizing my iPhone or iTouch.
Has anyone else been having these sorts of problems??

JollyGeri, after I installed the 10.5.3 version a few days ago I began to have the same problem. The first time i used iTunes after the new install is when the problem of not being able toI manipulate my music by dragging and dropping began. My computer is a Mac and it appears you are using Windows Vista so the solution to my problem will likely be different than yours. I'll just mention that on a mac there is a program called disk utility and with that we mac users can have it repair permissions. After a second attempt yesterday to repair permissions I was able to move music by dragging and dropping as I previously could. However, when I opened itunes today and tried, the same problem was back. I've used the disk utility program to repair permissions again but so far the problem persists. I hope someone is able to help you with your situation. If there is a similar type of program on your windows pc, perhaps by repairing the disk permissions you may be able to get your problem solved. This is very frustrating and I believe there is something in the new version of iTunes that has caused this because I have not installed any other upgreades, etc. since downloading and installing the itunes upgrade. You may have clicked one of the categories that reordered your sonds (ie Name or Artist). This make is override any drag and drop. To allow drag & drop within a playlist:
Look near the top at the Title of your playlist
Click on the far left hand column (probably has numbers in it). This organinzed songs by the numbers listed there instead of by Name or Artist or whatever....
Now you should be able to drag & drop.

Can you Drag and Drop to open Files

Hello All,
I am trying to make a desktop app using AIR with Flash Pro CS5.5. I was wondering if it was possible to have the app open files by dropping them onto the app's icon in the browser of the OS.
For example, let's say I want to create a photo viewer app for Windows. I would like to be able to highlight a couple of JPGs, drag them over my app's icon and 'drop' them into the program. This will open the app and it will show me the selected JPGs in a slide show.
If this is not possible, then is it possible to have the app already open and drag the JPGs on the the open window for the same effect?
I have read the FileReference and File classes documentation but it doesn't quite answer my question. Also, searches on Google as well as here don't seem to be leading me to the answer. I've tried "open file using drag and drop" and "pass a file as a parameter to AIR app" etc, but the queries don't lead me to relevant information.

If you have an opened application you can drag and drop multiple images and these displays you (getting the path of the images and load with Loaders) this because I have done, but I'm not sure dragging over the icon works, maybe.

Can you drag and drop programs from 1 computer to the other??

I have finalcut studio on my dual gig g4 but now I want to work off my laptop and sell the dual gig g4. Only problem is that I have my finalcut studio disks buried in a big stack of boxes in preparation for a move. Is there a way I can transfer the programs to my laptop without haveing to dig in all these boxes for the install disks?

You do not want to drag and drop - it does copy the program, sure. But it does not bring over over ALL the necessary components and frameworks needed to run. So it no worky.
Solution - clone off the whole OS, programs, et al to an ext fw drive and boot off that.
You'll want a pcmcia adapter to give you 2 buses so that one fw disc can hold the media and the other fw disc to hook into the built in bus.
For the OS fw disc you'll find that using the fw 400 port is fine.
