Can you dual sync your bluetooth apple keyboard to both your ipad2 and your mac?

I want to link a keyboard to my ipad2...can i sync my bletooth apple keyboard and bluetooth mouse to my ipad2 and keep it synced with my mac mini?

I haven't done it intentionally, but while it seems to be technically possible to have the bluetooth keyboard "connect" to one and then the other, it gets messy if both devices are on at the same time and near each other. I don't recommend it.
A mouse doesn't have any utility with a finger and gesture based iOS device so that will be Mac Mini only.

Can I use one licensed copy of Elements on both a PC and a Mac?

    Thanks for the reply.
I'll be buying a boxed version which says it comes with CD's for both platforms.
The Mac doesn't get used very often for photo editing, but it would be nice to have that option.

  • Can you wake up your Mac remotely to control it from iPod using VNC app?

I have the VNC app that allows you to connect to your Mac or PC and control it from your iPod. Your iPod screen displays a miniature version of you computer and by using a selection of tools you are able to do everything on you Mac remotely. The problem is that when you go away or are away from your computer you don't want to have to leave it running continuously so the preferred option is to let it sleep and wake it up remotely when you need to access it. I tried calling Skype on my Mac from another computer but either just leaves a message or rings but doesn't bring the Mac out of sleep mode. This little VNC app is amazing and very useful only if I can get my Mac to wake up so I can connect to it. If not, great app but useless... at least for me.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Kev

How about using SSH to remote secure shell into your Mac? That might wake it up.
Touchterm is the touch app to use for ssh.

  • HT204380 Can I use same apple ID on both my ipad2s and do FaceTime

I have 2 iPads and same iTunes ID. Can I login in with this but use 2 different emails to do FaceTime? E.g I have [email protected] as ID on both iPad 2s. But my kid is in school and want to FaceTime with me. Can he use his email ID and connect to my email I'd and do FaceTime?

    Hi,
Yes you can definitely use the same Apple ID regardless of how many apple devices you have. This way you can install the apps that you have already purchased.
It really does not matter what name your iPad is. You usually rename them under Settings>General>About>Name>
Just a note if you use the same icloud apple id as well, both devices will recieve the imessages and facetime calls.
    Hope that helps!

  • Can you use the same Hulu Plus subscription on both the iPad and PS3?

Can anyone confirm whether a Hulu Plus subscription for the iPad also works for Sony's PS3 (or vice versa)? That is, can you pay ONE $9.99/month fee and have access from both the iPad and the PS3? The Hulu website seems to suggest that this is possible, but they don't come right out and say it. What I want to avoid is paying twice for the same service (i.e. $9.99 for the iPad AND $9.99 for the PS3).
Could someone who has a Hulu Plus subscription and both an iPad and a PS3 check this out. As of today (Nov 10), everyone on the PS3 can sign up for Hulu Plus at no additional charge (other than the Hulu subscription). Previously you also needed to be a member of the PlayStation Plus service (at $50/year) in order to subscribe to Hulu Plus.
Also, for anyone using a PS3 do you know whether the component video out works with Hulu Plus? Unfortunately, the iPad's component video out is NOT supported by the Hulu Plus app.

Okay, so I signed up for Hulu Plus and my new (single) account is working on both my iPad and the PS3. Also, the component output on the PS3 seems to work fine with the Hulu content. However, the Hulu streaming performance on the PS3 seems a little rocky. On my first and second attempts to watch something the video would play for a few seconds and then pause for several more seconds, it was basically unwatchable.
The content on my iPad seemed okay, so it looks like a problem on the PS3. Also, Netflix on the PS3 was fine and I even watched the same episode of a TV show that stuttered badly on the PS3. After watching the entire show on Netflix I went back to Hulu and the PS3 was still having problems. Then, after about another 10 minutes of playback hickups the PS3 seemed to get better. Maybe Sony's version of Hulu Plus (or someone's server) is getting overloaded right now since Hulu on the PS3 just went mainstream today.

  • When Performing an Initial TM Backup can You Continue Using Your Mac?

I just backed up my MBP to TM and it took a long time. I'm about to start backing up my iMac; can I still be working on it while TM performs the first backup?
    Thanks

Sure - on a slower computer you might notice some keyboard lag but on your G5 there shouldn't be any problem at all. I've never had any difficulties using my computers while TM runs.

  • How can you tell where your Mac Pro was assembled?

I heard mention in another thread that some MP's were made in China while some were assembled in CA. Where do you find this information?

I think this might be what you're looking for:

I ran it on my Mac Pro and it told me unknown, though it told me my MacBook Pro was made in China.

  • Can you not sync wirelessly with a desktop PC on a wired network, while your iPhone is on the network wirelessly??

Can you not sync wirelessly with a desktop PC on a wired network, while your iPhone is on the network wirelessly??

I also thought that this was the case, but that is incorrect.  Please see my previous post below:
I was having the same problem with an iPhone 4 and Windows XP.  I finally fixed the issue! I read several posts over the past month telling me to make sure that both the PC and iPhone were on the same network.  I thought that both were on the same network; however, I was using my "Guest network" to connect my iPhone to my Airport Base Station.  In order for both devices to be on the same network, the first 3 numbers of both IP addresses must match.  For example, if the PC's IP address is 199.167.1.X, the iPhone's IP address must be 199.167.1.Y.   I signed onto my password-protected network from the phone just to see what IP address it would use.  As soon as I logged on, my iPhone started to sync wirelessly.  I don't know if this will work for anyone else, but I would suggest comparing the IP addresses of your PC and iPhone before doing anything else.  For those posting that the PC and iPhone must be on the same Wireless network, my PC is hard-wired to the Airport Extreme and it still works!
    My Setup:
    iPhone 4 (running IOS 5.0.1)
Dell PC (running Windows XP SP3) (no wireless network card)
Airport Exteme Base Station (5th Generation & updated firmware)

  • Can't pair my bluetooth Apple keyboard with AppleTV 3

I just updated my AppleTV 3 to 5.2 and tried to pair my bluetooth Apple keyboard, but nothing is happening.  I've tried restarting the AppleTV, making sure all of my keyboard setting are set correctly (including being discoverable), and restarting the actual keyboard.  The closest I've gotten to success is if I turn off my keyboard, and then turn it back on while holding the "On" button for a few seconds longer--then the keyboard pops up under Devices and gives me the option to Pair.  When I select that option--I get the little daisy wheel for awhile, and then the keyboard listed under Devices disappears again.  A quick check to see if the keyboard is working proves that no long term connection has be made.  (Oh, and just in case--yes the batteries are fully charged).  What I'm curious about, is there a step by step procedure that I'm supposed to be doing to make this work?  It seems like it shouldn't be this hard.

Hi, Can you help me I am running an iMac 10.7.5 and iPad 6.0.1 and a macair10.8.2. iCloud is syncing emails and notes but not photos. Photo streaming is switched on on the iMac. what do I need to do to stream photos?

Hi you have basicly 2 Options.
1 -if you Switch One fotostream on all 3 devices of yours which are working on the same apple id -all Fotos you Take with your iPad will be synchronized via icloud to the other 2 decvices ( w-lan and battery depending).
2- If you select foots or a whole album in iPhoto on your air or iMac and choose than puplish --> fotostream --> new or existing event you can key in a friends mail. If this friend has iCloud and iPhoto ( for iMac or MacBook ) and click on the link in the email it will download this fotos in the fotostream section in iPhoto. If he has a iPad, iPhone,... It will do it in the foto app and if he doesn't have a iCloud account at all and you choose "public web site" while publishing he can see your fotostream on a website.

  • HT4112 how do i pair bluetooth apple keyboard and iphone5?

I am trying to pair my wireless bluetooth apple keyboard with my iPhone 5. It recognizes the keyboard but will not pair with it. What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks in advance!

    1)   Turn on bluetooth on your iPhone (under settings)
    2)   Make sure your bluetooth on your computer is not on (this is esp. applicable if it's a mac of any sort).
    3)   Turn on power on the apple wireless keyboard
    4)  The keyboard should show up on the bluetooth list of paired devices on the iPhone's bluetooth menu.    It'll say it's not paired.
    5)  Touch this line in order to begin the pairing process.   The iPhone will give you a 4 digit code to type into the wireless keyboard.
    6)   Once you type in the code, the iPhone will tell you if it is paired successfully, and then you'll be good to go.
There's some youtube videos as well.     I referred to this one originally:

can you have more than one apple id under the same account

Stop using the same Apple ID for iMessage on these devices.  Go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive (Receive At in iOS 5), tap the ID shown, sign out, then sign back in using a unique ID for each device.  (Or, just sign out and stop using your Apple ID for iMessage.)
