Can you expand the folders in event?

I just purchased a mac for the 1st time and am organizing photos in iphoto. Is there any way to "expand" the folders under the events tab on the left side so i can easily drag and drop photos to other folders?

Try this instead:
Flag the photos you want to move. Switch to Events view. Select the Event you want as a destination then go
Events -> Add Flagged Photos to Selected Event.
As you are new you might want to consider Albums as a much more flexible tool.
I use Events simply as big buckets of Photos: Spring 08, July - Nov 06 are typical Events in my Library. I use keywords and Smart Albums extensively. I title the pics broadly.
I keyword on a
Who
What
Where basis (The When is in the photos's Exif metadata). I also rate the pics on a 1 - 5 star basis.
Using this system I can find pretty much find any pic in my 50k library in a couple of seconds.
So, for example, I have a batch of pics titled 'Seattle 08' and a typical keywording might include: John, Anne, Landscape, mountain, trees, snow. With a rating included it's so very easy to find the best pics we took at Mount Rainier.
File -> New Smart Album
set it to 'All"
title contains Seattle
keyword is mountain
keyword is snow
rating is 5 stars
Or, want a chronological album of John from birth to today?
New Smart Album
Keyword is John
Set the View options to Sort By Date Ascending
Want only the best pics?
add Rating is greater than 4 stars
The best thing about this system is that it's dynamic. If I add 50 more pics of John to the Library tomorrow, as I keyword and rate them they are added to the Smart Album.
In the end, organisation is about finding the pics. The point is to make locating that pic or batch of pics findable fast. This system works for me.

Can't expand the folders under the shared folder in catalog new analysis?

When i am trying to create a new Analysis and in the catalog section when i expand the shared folder i can only see one level the folders under neath the shared folders cannot expand the folders under the parent folders. for example i have three main folders under shared folders Finance, Marketing and Customer when i try to expand the finance folder it doesn't expand and when i try to open marketing it expands by it doesn't show anything in those folders but when i try to open the folders directly from home --> catalog--> shared folders--> Finance--> ..... it shows every thing under those folders folders sub folders and all that stuff. I am hoping it is not something to do with permissions because i am able to open here. Please advice

If you do not have an object saved in the folder it will not dispaly the folder when you are in Answers navigating through the folder structure. Ensure you have saved at least one object (Prompt/Report) in the folder.

I notice when I am on the set-up mode by using the Linksys IP address, there is an option for wireless type - N is not currently tabbed, although I can actually use the router from my office to house which is about 300 feet. Can you expand the text boxes in iCal?

I downloaded a few sports team schedules to my iCal, but when I print out the monthly calendar only a small part of the text shows up. For example, the school and time show up, but not the opponent and venue. Is there a way to expand the text boxes so the full text shows up? There is plenty of white space on each day. Thanks!

You can install a Gigabit Ethernet switch to add as many ports as you need. Switches come in 5-port, 8-port, 16-port etc. varieties.
Why a switch and not a hub? A switch will deliver full bandwidth to each connected device. A hub will divide or split up the bandwidth to connected devices.

To a lesser extent, the same problems exists on all panels, whether they be in import window or elsewhere. Just look at the Folder panel in Library to see how much space is wasted in offsetting the subfolders. When this was pointed out to the relevant folk the reply came back that it was by design. How do you change the color of events on ICal.

How do you changed the color of events on ICal? I was able to do this when I utilized ICal on the Snow Leopard system but can no longer do this with Lion.
I know that I can select the Calanders list, but when I create a new "Calander" it doesn't allow me to choose a color and it doesn't show up in my list when working within an event.

Thanks for bringing these requests to our attention. We currently do not have support for these three types of email notifications. I will add them to our backlog and we will enable support for them soon.
Currently, we support email notifications only for replication issues. One example you can easily test is to Pause the replication of a virtual machine from the Hyper-V Manager UI. This should send an email notification.

Can you add the entire content of your desktop to the allowable locations in flash player?

can you add the entire content of desktop to the allowable locations in flash player? when i click 'add' to allowable locations and type in file:///C:/Documents and Settings under website (i know it's not the website but where else would it be added) it doesn't show up in the overall list of allowable 'sites'.

Are you talking about trying to add your desktop to Flash Player's trusted locations? If so, you use the "Advanced" tab on the Local Settings Manager to designate folders and files as trusted. (Full path is Advanced->Developer Tools->Trusted Location Settings.)
